Lots of folks bitching about price and how it’s up against hydrasynth. I can tell you that the hydra is a great instrument but these are two different synths and my king Korg was an incredibly versatile and thick machine with several very smooth and present filters not to mention the oscillator choices. I believe the king Korg(mine was stolen) is one of tge most ignored synths out there and the Neo is on my list for next few weeks. If you’ve ever sat down with a king Korg, You know what a joy it is to tweak. You can almost fall in the damn front panel and make something that sounds good. I’d say it gives my prologue a run for its money.
The king Korg is not a cheap plastic toy….it’s a fantastic sounding synth that’s Easy To Carry!
Is it a Rev2? No. But a Rev2 is not a Neo either. It’s basically all about useful audio space and Neo sounds like it’s got plenty of space it can easily fill. Those who are bitching about price, You should have been around in the 80s and tried to get a synth. 8 voices, no effects, Basic filter, Osc, LFO and a chew one was 1500 IN THE 1980s! Check out dollar value back the.
$1000 is within grasp and the instrument is worth it!

I really love the OG King Korg but this seems exactly like the big boy strapped down in size, UI and the lovely tube...
Like for real I know the original really well and I see exactly the same waveforms, filters etc. and it's exactly spelled and layed out on the screen as the original 😂
Idk about that 😅 wouldn't it be cooler to give the amazing concept of this synth a completely new revival because the OG King Korg had a lot of flaws and missing links that could have been repaired easily nowadays like making the filter types more realistic to the originals espaccially the MS, OB and classic Moog ladder, or get some more licensed wave forms of the Synths you wanna emulate, get a mod matrix into this thing with more patchpoints, more midi implementations, make the arp more complex and accessible, the OG had loads of menu diving and double knob functions that made the experience much worse than it could be, make the pitchbend programmable, give this thing a bigger screen with a animation of the filter, envelope etc. behavior, keep the freaking tube in and make a easy audio In routing for it and if that is possible instead of just having the split function make it 4 part multitimbral for amazing Layering options, give it a 3rd envelope and lfo and if you're crazy create a dual filter concept, since the king korg is a VA with the XMT technology it shouldn't add a whole lot to the cost to the price of the Synth to add a few things mentioned
I really don't see why anyone wouldn't get the OG for like 500 used, if it's a lot more capable, has a nicer UI, a nice tube, Fullsized weighted Keys which play pretty nice, unless you don't have any space, want to waste money or adore the look of the new one.
Does the new OS works on the classic KK as well?
I've already got a King Korg.. so this isn't too exciting for me.. BUT.. yet again, Korg.. if you've made a more compact version of the control layout.. then where the devil is the 19" rack compatible desktop module version??? 😕
Seriously, there is a Kickstarter dedicated to chopping the keyboard off of the Opsix/Wavestate/Modwave line of synths and turning them into the compact desktop modules they honestly should've been. Clearly there is demand for this!

The KingKorg Neo is an almost identical copy of the KingKorg (just compare the Parameters Guides), more expensive with two important "minuses": the overall Tube effect (a rare specificity of the KingKorg which had the advantage to add warmth to the sound) no longer exists in the NEO and of course this very small and cheapy keyboard.
In summary: KingKorg NEO, pay more to get a little less
How about you give us a KingKorg 2? That’s what everyone wants. The KingKorg was supposed to be a virtual analog synth designed for live use. This Neo design is too small for a serious prog/jazz keyboardist to make much use of as a live player. The KingKorg 2 in theory would be the same 5 octave full sized key version as the original but with some much needed updates.
1 - the keybed action desperately needs to be updated.
2 - add Aftertouch (preferably polyphonic, but at least monophonic)
3 - Add in a few more knobs and other controllers to lessen the need for menu diving when sound designing.
4 - Patch remain (that is, sounds do not cutoff if held with the sustain pedal and the patch is changed. Absolutely crucial to live use)
5 - Larger storage. 100 user patches is a joke.
6 - add Step Sequencer
7 - fix aliasing issues of original engine
8 - add ribbon controller (like the Kronos)

Then go get a Behringer. Tired of these whiny nutbags. Never grateful for anything…back in the day when I was going, people would pay 1000 bucks (which is probably 10 grant now) to get a similar synth.

Big mistake. £950 but £650 in 3 months when they don't sell any. Best wait. The original king korg was a bit of a flop and now they make a 3 octave plastic version - not for me.
Bring back the Triton!
I keep my old Extreme and find it perfect for any purppose . And I have a separate piano ( Triton's pianos sound really different when played MIDI from that one )
