I know how you felt , I had long COVID in 2021 and I was in the Hallamshire hospital for 31 days and when I went home I was on a respirator 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 6 months it was terrible,another awesome video mate with the snow ,and Bluey dog is adorable. @@roccomoss35 yes, it is. I was shocked to read of six months on a ventilator due to Covid. As a consultant surgeon I did a check and the ‘record’ stands at 118 days - and is also confirmed by BMJ. John’s case must have slipped through as it’s not visible anywhere I looked. I just hope he is ok after such an ordeal.

Hi from Australia. As an older disabled person your advice about making a plan ( just a little one) and achieving was a good reminder that we are only limited by ourselves. I have watched some of your other video's and just the vison you have of the Lake District. I love the diversity of the UK. It is such a key to a good life, you stay active physically and stay challenged. My wife and I are out in the wild all the time in our late sixties, we don't go past Class three anymore but we still have so much fun out in the wild. Just older versions of you. Stick with the positivity, that's so wise. Symbiotic living makes all the sense.

Bushman , this video today is inspiring to get off my butt and put on my hiking boots and get out , I've just been made redundant at work after working there 15 years , yeah it sucks , but maybe more time to get out in those hills and lose some weight and enjoy the outdoors like you and blue. The scenery is breath taking with the snow , windy and cold , but that's a small price to see those stunning hills. You never know you might see me on them hills . Great video , i nearly went up Malham today , but stuck to the warmth of my log fire . Maybe next Monday ill get there . Cheers bushman. Those pants sounded good and the jacket . Had a particularly bad few months with recovering from a chest infection that totally knocked me off my feet & starting a new job which is not working out as planned. Your words of wisdom in this video have inspired me this week & got me through a tough time. I’ve now planned a weekly walk with a friend & we’re hitting the Peak District next week. Keep up the good work !

I couldn't agree more about getting negative people out of your life. Sometimes, they will be close relatives, so it can be difficult to separate yourself from them, but you will be much happier when you do.

Love your attitude of going out no matter how hard it is getting out the door, knowing that nature will heal. I so agree that is is important to have something positive to plan and look forward to. Your chat was just what I needed. Blue is so much like my border collie Skye, and we had a previous collie who would leap in the air over and over to bite the snow coming out of the snow blower. Just the way Blue stares at something, and then glances back at you is such a collie trait. His mind is saying " Throw that snow or stick or ball or Frisbee again and again! . Stay well!

This video really struck a chord. Loving my camping but with a small homebuilt aircraft and small airfields where I can pitch my tent between the UK and Portugal. You can sit at home or be out there doing some of the great trips that you do. Really enjoy the content and planning a new camping season.
Aw missed seeing Blue dog in your videos but am happy to see he’s back and ready to go on lots more adventures! Lovely to see You and Blue Dog back. And the drone as well! What I like best about the drone footage is Your choice of music. Its always just right, - well for me anyway. I've looked into quite a few other channels and more often than not the music has put me off. So thank You for that and I hope the old Covid doesn't come back at You. I got it when I was in Bavaria last summer and it took some weeks for me to get my energy back and the pudding out of my brain, although it had only knocked me off my feet for three days.
Thank you mate. With the music there isn’t much choice from the free to use stuff but I make it work. It definitely sometimes helps make it a bit more mesmerising 👍
Another wholesome video Al. 👍 Checkout Hrvatska, wild camping is illegal but probably the most beautiful place in the whole of Europe for hiking (and camping, shhhh), shedloads of long trails with varying terrains, altitudes and stunning views. They even have super clean bothies that are meant as filling stations not sleeping in.
Al what you’re experiencing is normal and dare i say it age. Even the most superhero like men have to deal with life experience. It’s a transition. Just what you said, stay positive. To be honest the changes of our life dont stop. Just when you overcome and get used to one stage, it changes. This throws us. But embrace the change of life and you are one of the most inspiring man I’ve ever had the joy to watch . You are helping us to dream because your fitness and experience and knowledge surpass most of us and so you really help us.

Al - good to see you and 't mutt up and about again. I finally got my fat lazy backside out over the weekend and headed over Nan Bield and Mardale Ill Bell and up over Kidsty. After 3 hours of slog in 50 yard vis I was beginning to doubt my sanity in the cold wind and clag. This was reinforced by the compass bearing approach to Ill Bell summit - but all was forgiven when I went over towards High Street and Kidsty, the sun broke through and the clouds cleared leaving a beautiful clear crisp afternoon. The rolling clouds over Ill Bell remained all day and I was happy I stuck with it, got come cracking photo's and video of the cloudscapes. Happy days :) I will get out in the tent soon, just need to get fitter first! I find poles help a lot, but for me they are needed due to a dodgy knee and ankle combo (results of 20+ years of rugby and getting run over more recently!)

Drone’s definitely add the ‘epic’ to a video. I really enjoy editing those parts even though it can take ages.

Enjoy every moment you have with Blue, i began wild camping way back in 1972 and was privileged to have my companion brid a German shepherd with me for 15 years long before social media ,the Internet etc ,all I have is photos and fantastic memories of the best pal I ever had .

Hi, don’t normally comment but have been watching your vlogs for the past year. Had a particularly bad few months with recovering from a chest infection that totally knocked me off my feet & starting a new job which is not working out as planned. Your words of wisdom in this video have inspired me this week & got me through a tough time. I’ve now planned a weekly walk with a friend & we’re hitting the Peak District next week. Keep up the good work !
Everything irons out sometimes it just takes time and some tough choices. Good luck with it and walking will definitely help especially with a good friend👍👍👍

Love your attitude of going out no matter how hard it is getting out the door, knowing that nature will heal. I so agree that is is important to have something positive to plan and look forward to. Your chat was just what I needed. Blue is so much like my border collie Skye, and we had a previous collie who would leap in the air over and over to bite the snow coming out of the snow blower. Just the way Blue stares at something, and then glances back at you is such a collie trait. His mind is saying " Throw that snow or stick or ball or Frisbee again and again! . Stay well!
😂He loves playing fetch. Collies are great though as they love a job even if just catching snow. I’m glad you appreciated the chat 😬😬😬

This video really struck a chord. Loving my camping but with a small homebuilt aircraft and small airfields where I can pitch my tent between the UK and Portugal. You can sit at home or be out there doing some of the great trips that you do. Really enjoy the content and planning a new camping season.

What I like best about the drone footage is Your choice of music. Its always just right, - well for me anyway. I've looked into quite a few other channels and more often than not the music has put me off.

and I hope the old Covid doesn't come back at You. I got it when I was in Bavaria last summer and it took some weeks for me to get my energy back and the pudding out of my brain, although it had only knocked me off my feet for three days.

Checkout Hrvatska, wild camping is illegal but probably the most beautiful place in the whole of Europe for hiking (and camping, shhhh), shedloads of long trails with varying terrains, altitudes and stunning views. They even have super clean bothies that are meant as filling stations not sleeping in.

Al what you’re experiencing is normal and dare i say it age. Even the most superhero like men have to deal with life experience. It’s a transition. Just what you said, stay positive. To be honest the changes of our life dont stop. Just when you overcome and get used to one stage, it changes. This throws us. But embrace the change of life and you are one of the most inspiring man I’ve ever had the joy to watch . You are helping us to dream because your fitness and experience and knowledge surpass most of us and so you really help us.

Al - good to see you and 't mutt up and about again. I finally got my fat lazy backside out over the weekend and headed over Nan Bield and Mardale Ill Bell and up over Kidsty. After 3 hours of slog in 50 yard vis I was beginning to doubt my sanity in the cold wind and clag. This was reinforced by the compass bearing approach to Ill Bell summit - but all was forgiven when I went over towards High Street and Kidsty, the sun broke through and the clouds cleared leaving a beautiful clear crisp afternoon. The rolling clouds over Ill Bell remained all day and I was happy I stuck with it, got come cracking photo's and video of the cloudscapes. Happy days :) I will get out in the tent soon, just need to get fitter first! I find poles help a lot, but for me they are needed due to a dodgy knee and ankle combo (results of 20+ years of rugby and getting run over more recently!)
