Milwaukee is triggered by Atlanta RIP Milwaukee Braves and Milwaukee Hawks It appears the flames need a new arena, and Milwaukee has a new arena (I know they’re planning on a new arena to be built in ‘21) Could we complete the circle?
Aiden Mckenney Wisconsin is about the same size as Minnesota, yet it isn't considered a "big enough" state? Hockey is big here, it beats watching the Bucks.
G HL Are you kidding me? People from my state of Wisconsin love hockey as much as Minnesota or Colorado. Don't compare a snow covered state bordering Canada like Wisconsin to the sunshine state of Georgia that never even heard of hockey before they got a team.
Toronto's team was originally just called "Toronto Hockey Club" (nicknamed "Blueshirts"). Later renamed "Arenas", then "St. Patricks", and finally "Maple Leafs".
@@michaelc2334 There is a Kansas City in both states right next to each other. A street goes through separating them called State Line Street with Kansas and Missouri on opposite sides of the road.
This is the post I was looking for before posting the same thing, myself. Kemper (Hy-Vee Arena now) was in MO, so the state should be split like Alberta or California.
Montreal was a team before the NHL existed. The inaugural NHL season included the Montreal Canadiens, the Montreal Wanderers, the original Ottawa Senators, and the Toronto Arenas. Therefore, there is no Original 6. Montreal is the original 1.
2009 Arizona coyotes went bankrupt and they didn't want to relocate the franchise, and Atlanta thrashers went to Winnipeg, Manitoba to bring back Winnipeg jets (coyotes 1st franchise since 1971), that was a legendary return for jets since they left in the league for 15 years, looks like thrashers savin yotes life for bringing back it's 1st franchise to become 2nd franchise
I like the idea but, 1. Too hard to look at 2. No music/narration 3. Extremely outdated logos 3.5. Michigan, Great Lakes, Ontario not filled correctly?
This video is inaccurate because of the teams before the original six the Boston Bruins we're not the first NHL team the Kansas City Scouts where in Missouri not Kansas
Why did you start in the early 40s? The NHL started in 1917... the original six refers to the ones from back in the day that are still going today, not the first six teams.
Just below Montreal is the expansion team Ottawa Senators - not the original Ottawa Senators that has won Lord Stanley's Cup as an NHL team. Check out the NHL's 100 years of logos for what you are missing prior to "the original six".
You missed all the teams prior to 1942ish. Montreal had another team, Vancouver, Ottawa, Hamilton, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle and St.Louis all had NHL teams in the early years of the NHL, even tho most of then only lasted about a year, Ottawa had their team for about 15 years, winning I think 4 Stanley Cups
+Brandon5495 The NHL is refusing to relocate them. Carolina should have stayed in Hartford, Panthers should go to Quebec, and Arizona should go to Seattle
Captain Sum Ting Wong Carolina's situation isn't really bad. Also, Hartford tried to get a new arena and they couldn't get an agreement with the city. Even though he had to deal with the current one, the Civic Center only held 15,000 and the Whalers were at the bottom of the league in attendance when they've broke 14,000 only twice ( 86-87 and 87-88 ). Hartford should just stay as an AHL market.
Airmode9000 Originally, they are! I'm just trying to say, even if they were moved, like Winnipeg then came back to Canada, Calgary is the only one that was bought from the Atlanta Flames and not truly born in Canada!
Symmetriq You're not getting the point! The jets were made in Winnipeg, as in created in the city of Winnipeg, but relocated to Atlanta for, probably, financial reasons. They came back as a "fairy tale" ending cause the Thrashers were a low producing team, and the loyal fans of the Jets wanted them back in the city in which they were born! on the other hand, the Atlanta Flames were born in Atlanta, and when it was not advantageous to keep them there, Calgary bought them and brought them to Calgary to become the Calgary Flames. This all happened in 1980 - when the C-train of Calgary was also first introduced as a means of transportation...
You realize both Toronto and Montreal were around before any American team? Them, Ottawa, Hamilton, and a second Montreal team comprised the original NHL.
Mason 11 Exactly! Or just move Arizona somewhere else. I mean, really? Arizona? Hockey?! Yeah, I totally agree. Arizona could go to Seattle or Atlanta... actually... Atlanta couldn't sustain a third NHL team... or maybe Maine. Also, the league doesn't need 31 teams.
Very good, but you did miss a rather important logo and color scheme change for the Washington Capitals in the mid 90s through 2008 or so. Other than that, good job.
The Bruins joined the NHL in 1924 while the Canadians and Leafs joined in 1917. The Canadians were founded first in 1909. So yes, the first team is the best because the Canadians have held the most Stanley Cups. The second best is the Blackhawks, its a fact.
Québec would be lucky if that happens. I mean, relocation is cheaper than buying a new franchise, and Quebecor won't have to start from scratch. If a relocation happens, though I'd love to see the Nordiques again, I'd be very sad for the Hurricanes or Coyotes fans.
Biggest travesty ever was Norm Green being allowed to move the North Stars to Dallas. I would piss on his grave but I wouldn't have pissed on him if he was on fire.
The Metropolitans were in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (something like that) like Vancouver Milionaires, Portland Rosebuds,Victoria Cougars and and other teams. Until 1917,(I don't know) the National Hockey Association(1910-1917) champion vs PCHA champion have a match to determine who's the Stanley Cup Champion (each year). Atlanta is triggered by Canada. RIP Atlanta Flames and Thrashers.
Carl Grimes's Eyepatch I have to settle for the Preds - they seem to acknowledge the Thrashers more than the Jets which is weird when you think about it,
Idk I feel like Atlanta doesn’t care lol. Definitely not a hockey city.
Well, Atlanta sports fans have little patience. The Thrashers were horrible every year, so people lost interest.
Atlanta Thrasher: NFL i don’t feel so good.
*changes to Winnipeg Jets*
Milwaukee is triggered by Atlanta
RIP Milwaukee Braves and Milwaukee Hawks
It appears the flames need a new arena, and Milwaukee has a new arena
(I know they’re planning on a new arena to be built in ‘21)
Could we complete the circle?
It's sad to see Wisconsin not having an NHL team at all. That's why I'm a Wild fan
I have wondered that. I assume Milwaukee is largely content with traveling to Chicago to see a game?
Aiden Mckenney Wisconsin is about the same size as Minnesota, yet it isn't considered a "big enough" state? Hockey is big here, it beats watching the Bucks.
+Johnny Roberts "Big enough" as in "hockey isn't popular enough". Not as in "a _geographical_ scale".
Johnny Roberts I agree. I think Milwaukee and Seattle should both have NHL teams.
G HL Are you kidding me? People from my state of Wisconsin love hockey as much as Minnesota or Colorado. Don't compare a snow covered state bordering Canada like Wisconsin to the sunshine state of Georgia that never even heard of hockey before they got a team.
The upper peninsula of Michigan is part of Michigan...
Wrong.......the UP is part of Rhode Island
And Vancouver island is part of BC
Deven Szlachetka you are right I live thier
Deven Szlachetka rrg
Deven Szlachetka buddy Montreal was the first idiot Montreal in 1909 and Boston in 1924
great video! i like how you updated the logos as time went on. The original 6 is a great start point to keep it relevant
I thought the NHL was founded in 1917 by 4 teams (2 in Montreal, one in Ottawa, and one in Toronto).
Cool graphics though...
It's was I just don't think he did it
Toronto's team was originally just called "Toronto Hockey Club" (nicknamed "Blueshirts"). Later renamed "Arenas", then "St. Patricks", and finally "Maple Leafs".
It was, this video is messed up. Notice how he put boston as the first nhl team.
It was Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Arenas and Ottawa Senators
Mike McCarthy it was
you did good but there is a lot more history before the original six i would love to see a video of that
Yeah I agree
Read the description
Kansas City scouts are from Missouri
LA Rally I thought the same thing. Obviously Kansas City is also in Kansas, but the arena was in Missouri.

This is a really good video

Montreal and Toronto are the two oldest NHL teams at 100+ years old, why aren't they the 2 first teams to be coloured in?
A few teams such as the New York Americans, Original Senators, Quebec Bulldogs, Montreal Maroons... etc are forgotten. Think!
should be Mtl, Tor and then the others
Not true. leafs weren't even an original team in the NHL.
Better than what - the avalanche?
Are you dumb?
I can't believe somebody made this
I like the idea but,
1. Too hard to look at
2. No music/narration
3. Extremely outdated logos
3.5. Michigan, Great Lakes, Ontario not filled correctly?
I guess the maker of the video thought Kansas City is in Kansas. Haha
+Captain Sum Ting Wong There are two cities by the name of Kansas City; one is in Kansas, the other is directly east in the state of Missouri.
+EricEbac22 Yeah, and the Scouts played in Kansas City, Missouri.
@EricEbac22
And when people talk about KC, nine times out of ten they're talking about KC, MO. Where are the Royals from? How about the Chiefs?
Good job!! And who will ever forget the Kenora (Ontario) Thistles, Stanley Cup Champions!!!
This video is inaccurate because of the teams before the original six the Boston Bruins we're not the first NHL team the Kansas City Scouts where in Missouri not Kansas
What about the Brooklyn americans?
Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Wanderers, Toronto St.Pats. The ORIGINAL FOUR teams in the NHL.
2017- Expansion: Las Vegas Golden Knights
I love how no logos changed
I was a little booger-eater when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup with Bobby Hull & crew. It was BLISS getting THREE in half a decade!
Why did you start in the early 40s? The NHL started in 1917... the original six refers to the ones from back in the day that are still going today, not the first six teams.
As a kid I was always a fan of Quebec because they had the best players, Forsberg, Sakic and Lindros :D
this make it looks like the nhl began with the original six
he acknowledges that in the description
Humm Kansas City scouts were in fact not located in Kansas
you forgot the old Ottawa Senators
Just below Montreal is the expansion team Ottawa Senators - not the original Ottawa Senators that has won Lord Stanley's Cup as an NHL team. Check out the NHL's 100 years of logos for what you are missing prior to "the original six".
Dude this is so off, there was the nhl before the "original six era" where are the stl Eagles
***** and the Ottawa Senators - who became the STL Eagles during the depression
+Kellen Brennan It was more like the "surviving six" than the original one.
I don't you say shit about my Boston Bruins
+NSIEGS94 Dude don't forget about the Blackhawks
***** But don't forget the 30's they were good then winning 2 cups
Saskatchewan Blues 2020's and Quebec

how do you make a map like this? Please let me know .
There was teams before the original 6
NY bring back the fisherman. I may be an OIlers fan but that logo is the best OAT
R.I.P.
*Quebec Nordiques*
When doing the red wings you forgot the northern peninsula of Michigan
Atlanta moved to Winnipeg, next up the nordiques
Matthew Klinck Who would move? Assuming that the NHL doesn't decide to award the other expansion bid to them.
***** or they can take that joke of a franchise called the Florida Panthers and put them in Quebec lol
+Brandon5495 The NHL is refusing to relocate them. Carolina should have stayed in Hartford, Panthers should go to Quebec, and Arizona should go to Seattle

+Brandon5495 The NHL has no intention of relocating any teams, nor do they have any intention of expanding, at least not any time soon.
Of all the Canadian teams, Calgary is the only one not born in Canada.
You forgot the new Jets, they're from Atlanta too
Airmode9000 Originally, they are! I'm just trying to say, even if they were moved, like Winnipeg then came back to Canada, Calgary is the only one that was bought from the Atlanta Flames and not truly born in Canada!
Who knew that Atlanta is the gateway to Canada
False. Winnipeg Jets were also brought in from Atlanta (Thrashers). The original Winnipeg Jets live on in Arizona (they even have Shane Doan still).
Symmetriq You're not getting the point! The jets were made in Winnipeg, as in created in the city of Winnipeg, but relocated to Atlanta for, probably, financial reasons. Um the sens from 1900-1932 where is that get ur facts straight
I made this as a school project. I am well aware the NHL existed before the "Original Six" of 1942. But for simplicity's sake I started there.
Ah I see
And Seattle!
You realize both Toronto and Montreal were around before any American team? Them, Ottawa, Hamilton, and a second Montreal team comprised the original NHL.
2017 to be Expansion XI :)
Nice video
Mason 11 which is so stupid

Mason 11 in August I saw the stadium being built not this August over a year later august

Impressive
This is not the history of the start of the NHL.The nhl started way before 1942 and there were not six teams.
D mac there's a reason why there called the original 6
Only two of the "original" six existed when the league was founded. The other four joined the league over the following 10 years.
Forgot the NHL teams from 1917-1942.
The Bruins joined the NHL in 1924 while the Canadians and Leafs joined in 1917. The Canadians were founded first in 1909. So yes, the first team is the best because the Canadians have held the most Stanley Cups. The second best is the Blackhawks, its a fact.
BlackhawkNero Toronto has 13 and Detroit has 11. From a hawks fan
Incomplete history. You missed the original Ottawa Senators, Quebec Bulldogs, and others from the 1917-1942 period BEFORE the "Original Six"
This actually is a good Imperalism map 💀
ottawa rules alot of ontario and a bit of quebec too for quite a bit now
What about teams before the original 6?
cool video
2021- Seattle NHL Team
Wish I'm seeing a Québec Nordiques 2.0... =')
OK... Better luck next year I supose...
Québec would be lucky if that happens. I mean, relocation is cheaper than buying a new franchise, and Quebecor won't have to start from scratch.
If a relocation happens, though I'd love to see the Nordiques again, I'd be very sad for the Hurricanes or Coyotes fans.
Hope we stay we got a good shot at the playoffs.
Good bye Carolina that's a good song.
MegaBar82 quebec city deserves new team
By the end of the video, you have 9 incorrect logos.
Nice Effort But The Original Teams Were All In Canada (Exept 2 In America. Watch NHL's "NHL Through The Years")
You know the Milwaukee admirals were also a team but I don't know what happened to them
AHL affiliate.
They're the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators
You don't have the Bolts newest logo, or the Kings and Coyotes.
Or the capitals
Or the bruins.
It was 2013 when this was made
Crazy Penguin the coyotes changed on 03
Do one of these for the nba and nfl
video went way to fast to read and absorb the changes and teams, I'd redo the video with more time between text changes and add in the vegas team.
Atlanta has 6 million people we should have a hockey team
Now we got the Las Vegas golden knights. The next nhl team will be in Wisconsin for the central division to even it all up. 32 teams:)
Go Knights Go 2018! Lol no it won’t it’s seattle
I'm like 99% sure Montreal was the first franchise
U forgot the Brooklyn/New York Americans
yeah where's the golden knights? It's ok they won't be around too long anyway
Nathan Babiuk this didn’t age well
Is this about the community of hockey
Penguins were originally the pirates and they left the nhl for awhile
Kaden Hilemam they weren’t originally the pirates the franchises are completely separate and no one thinks of them as the same.
Sad to see some teams up north move south.
2017 - Vegas golden nights
2018: Expansion XI: Vegas Golden Knights
2021: Expansion XII: Seattle NHL Team

2021: Expansion XII: Seattle Kraken

This is about logos not about what teams do on the ice there 's other videos for that
Since the caps are in DC, not Maryland, you should have also coloured in Virginia, since that's basically where half of the fanbase is.
Sure ain't the residents of the Chocolate City
*CRYS IN CONNECTICUT*
howd you do that?
MY FAV TEAMS IN ORGINAL SIX
NEW YORK RANGERS
MONTREAL CANADIENS
DETROIT
You know the Caps are just as popular in Virginia, if not more than Maryland. I'd know, i'm from the DC area in Virginia.
You should have started with the 1917-1918 Season
Honestly after watching this I see why people wanted to redistribute teams to america. There was NO hockey there until recently.

Cali Coyotes Fan Their wayyyyy to small with only one million people. Have some sense man
Yotes Diehard use your brain dude
Where's orlando
You forgot 1917-1942
Future NHL citys (plz dont criticize)
Milwaukee, Settle, Quebec City, Mississauga (bad idea though)
Seattle and Quebec (:
I'd like to see a NHL team in Regina
What about the Vancouver millionaires
The Bruins were not the first nhl team the Canadiens were but the Bruins were the first nhl American team
Seattle hockey team? Anyone think so? They have Seattle in Nba, Nfl, Mls, Mlb, and so on.
Yolk _ Dem were really close to the Seattle team getting approved
