    Just to answer some of the questions...
    The Denver Nuggets in this video are different from the franchise that is around now and the Seattle Supersonics became the Thunder so they never went extinct.

    Fun facts:
    -The Bulls have worn Stags throwback jerseys in past seasons
    -when Toronto was awarded an NBA team in the early 90s, they were planning to resurrect the Huskies' name. By that time, however, the Minnesota Timberwolves existed and Toronto management felt any potential logo would be too similar to Minnesota. Also this was around the time Jurassic Park was a cultural juggernaut, which is where the name Raptors comes from.

    Why was the BAA formed? Partly because NHL and AHL team owners wanted more dates in their arenas. Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Toronto were NHL cities, while Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Providence, St. Louis and Washington were AHL cities (as were Buffalo and Indianapolis). The first president of the BAA was Maurice Podoloff, who was President of the AHL at the time, the first man to lead two professional leagues at the same time.

    • @ARIZJOE
      @ARIZJOE 7 месяцев назад

      That's basically correct. Winter entertainment consisted of the Ice Capades and hockey in the northeast. (coming out of the early industrialization, the Depression, and WW ll, most people did not have discretionary income). So the guys who owned arenas created basketball teams to fill dates. Basketball definitely was a regional thing early on, and not that popular.

      Science-wise, it is very sound. The superior backspin gives you more margin for error (assuming you had put in the same level of practice with both shots). Rick Barry was as an elite f/t shooter with the granny (89%) and at least one world record holder shot the granny-style (I don't know if it is the current one).

    Overall, some of these cities that don’t have a team anymore probably still won’t have a team when the NBA decides to expand to 32 Teams. Believe me. It’s been going on for a while, and the top 2 cities to have a new NBA Franchise would be Seattle & Las Vegas. It’s confirmed that Seattle will resurrect the Sonics, but Las Vegas, thats up in the air.
