Adam, you touched on it but you could never admit it publicly. NFL has every game as a stand alone event... They are all meaningful. NBA has diluted the basketball product so thinly that no one game has any meaning at all. Even the finals are "meh, we lost but we still have several more chances to progress". There is no tweak to fix this utterly broken format born from overwhelming greed. There are solutions but none of them are easy or subtle. One idea stands out to me as able satisfy all parties and keep the absurd amount of games roughly similar.... 16 teams each conference play home and away against each other = 30 games each. Finals are top 8 seeded ONE GAME ONLY. Until the champions of each conference play each other and then you can have best of whatever. This is your summer league... rinse and repeat again for your winter league. 2 season per calendar year. Every game is meaningful and there are ways to create intrigue and dynamism not available in the current format. Like... mixing the conferences between seasons. eg... top 8 from each conference in summer becomes the "american conference" in winter. Bottom eight from each conference in summer become the "National conference" in winter. This mixes up the competition in a merit based competitive way and gives lower teams a realistic chance to progress into finals in the short term. Everyone would hate it at first until 3 or four seasons in when it all makes sense and nobody would have it any other way.
Yea, you are right in sense as a fan, but i think in terms of revenue the amount of matches lowered would actually destroy the league since this basketball league works more on frequency of matches and amount of it compared to nfl. Also, with nfl vs nba there's mor differences than just one match or so, nfl is America's sports American game but if you look at basketball it has become non american and it has too many variables compared to nfl. Again i went on a tangent but i am pretty sure nba and mlb even to a large extent survives on the basis of frequency of matches
@@reclusedoggo3513 - Thanks for your feedback. To me, I find it hypocritical for the NBA leadership to publicly applaud another sport for what they are doing right while doing the exact opposite in the sport they are making decisions about. Furthermore, they are not even looking to make adjustments or changes to improve these fundamental flaws. To cap it off, the problems come as a direct result of overwhelming greed that has backfired enormously. The exact reasons Adam praises the NFL for is totally ignored in the NBA. A very small number of fans watche every single game their team plays in contrast to the NFL where most fans don't want to miss any of their teams games and are hungry for more so they often watch other games of interest. The numbers are overwhelming and conclusive. 202 million people Just in the US. Probably a larger number outside the US. All for ONE game. The NBA are well short of that for their whole season. They can't say "the fans are the priority" or "its all about the fans" and then focus all their attention on maximizing revenue at the cost of fan access, fan engagement, appreciation of the product AND get away with those lies. I notice the lies every time they speak and I don't accept it as ok. Don't you? In the coming years most people will be priced out of the product because they chase short term revenue at all costs. We have already seen this get worse by the year in all areas of life that corporation control. It is not going to get any better without pushback from the people.
Please please bring a team to KC. KC already had an NBA ready stadium and the fan base for it. Jayhawks basketball is huge, and the Big12 tourney is held there every year
Poor Las Vegas. Won't somebody please think of precious Las Vegas? Forget their market size, they deserve everything on the planet. Forget they recently got NFL and NHL and probably MLB on the way too... they still deserve the whole entire world handed to them
65 game rule is great. And if i read correctly, there have only been 4 MVPs in history that won MVP plaing less than 65 games. 2 of them, due to a lockout and shortend saison. So, nothing really special there. But JJ Redick had a great point on the super-max rule..that is nonsense and needs to change.. On load managment, i quote Sam Mitchell: if you are tired, skip a shootaround or training instead of not playing. Thats how they did it back in the time.
If that were to happen it would ONLY be via relocation from Orlando... which is essentially Tampa's secondary Market! The NBA does not need three teams in Florida!

Jayhawks basketball is huge, and the Big12 tourney is held there every year
Load management is the biggest BS. Athletes get paid so much n play so little games is the biggest scam to all sports fans
Bring a NBA expansion team to Seattle and Las Vegas! Period we want the Seattle Supersonics back to the NBA!
Vegas And Seattle Deserves A Basketball 🏀 Team .
Those shirts make 3 sizes... Kevin Hart, Pat McAfee and Duane Johnson
Poor Las Vegas. Won't somebody please think of precious Las Vegas? Forget their market size, they deserve everything on the planet. Forget they recently got NFL and NHL and probably MLB on the way too... they still deserve the whole entire world handed to them
Bring Seattle back
65 game rule is great.
Seattle Vancouver vegas Montreal
Seattle, Vegas, Pittsburgh and Montreal or Kansas City
st Louis , Baltimore , Nashville ,Hartford , Louisville ,
I think they should pay the winning team like k50 a player for all star weekend so that player's actually want to play
They get 100k already. The problem is that these are the highest paid players in the legue, so it would have to be crazy amoumt to motivate them.
What about an NBA team in Tampa?
If that were to happen it would ONLY be via relocation from Orlando... which is essentially Tampa's secondary Market!
The NBA does not need three teams in Florida!
There are 3 NFL teams in FL, so thought it could work. Also I do think Orlando doesn,t need a team lol. Tampa metropolitan area is huge Vegas market is 2.2M residents, Orlando is 2.6M Tampa is 3.2M Luisville is 1.3M so that's not happening, Seattle for sure tho its 4M market Pittsburg is 2.4M@@JiKeeY202
Us Vegas locals don't want teams here. Ask most locals did they want the Raiders or A's here. They'll say no
If vegas lost all the tourist money, it would be just like atlantic city
PLAYERS SHOW UP,
BUT THEY DON'T PLAY HARD, IT'S A DUNK LINE.
WHICH MAKES FOR A BORING GAME.
WOULD RATHER WATCH A WNBA GAME AGAINST A HIGH SCHOOL BOY CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM FOR 1 MILLION DOLLARS
