2004 Toyota Sequoia SUV Review: Features, Safety, Options, Interior, Engine and Configurations

  • The 2004 Toyota Sequoia is among the best of the used full-size SUVs. It's nearly the same size as a Ford Expedition, and slightly larger than a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Sequoia is a good vehicle for big families, especially for those who pull trailers. It offers three rows of seats capable of carrying eight passengers.
    The #2004ToyotaSequoia comes in two configuration levels: SR5 and Limited. Both are powered by a 240-horsepower 4.7-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive can be found.
    If space, towing capacity, and off-road capabilities of a truck-based, full-size sport-utility are everything you require, a used 2004 Toyota Sequoia is difficult to beat.

    I have a 2004 Sequoia SR5 which I bought in excellent condition in 2013. It has leather seats, upgraded wheels and upgraded sound system. The original owner told me its a "high mileage" vehicle and the not so good MPG. I was was more than happy to pay the $13000. for the Sequoia that only had 98000 miles on it. I now have 143000 miles on it and had the Toyota dealership replace the spark plugs and run an engine scan which showed no problems. BTW, the engine requires Irridium spark plugs that I was was charged under $20.00 for eight plugs compared to online prices of $18.00 each. Sometimes it may worth checking out the dealerships before going to your local friendly mechanics who wanted to charge me $ 585.00 for spark plug replacements. I did have the Toyota dealership to run a diagnostic check on the engine for $220. It turned out fine. So between the plugs and the diagnostic, the bill came to $ 400.00. Be aware folks.

    Please understand that there is a huge difference between AWD and 4 wheel Drive when making a video on any automobile. Just a heads up.

    • @kurtsullivan9203
      @kurtsullivan9203 4 года назад +2

      Yeah but Toyota made it super confusing on these and 4 runners etc of the time. The 4 runner had an awd system on some trims/years and just a standard 4x4 on others. Everyone watching this video gets the point it's a Toyota SUV and it will go over shit. No one cares about being pedantic.

    • @landrover4444
      @landrover4444 3 года назад

      The narrator doesn't know the difference between AWD and four-wheel drive. That's clear. He's also reading directly from a 2004 article on New Car Test Drive [dot] com.

    • @Luketheskywalker18
      @Luketheskywalker18 6 месяцев назад

      The sequoia technology goes into an awd mode when you engage the “4x4” button, and center diff is unlocked allowing variable power to each wheel. Then you can lock center diff and it becomes a standard 50/50 4x4 system. With center diff locked you feel crabbing when turning. Not locked there’s no crabbing and can drive 65mph. They are beasts.
