Thank you for making this video. I am going to upgrade my wife Sequoia with the equipment shown and I will use your links for my purchases. I need to do a backup camera as well.
Hey, I work at Toyota dealership and you have to be careful of parasitic drain. Well I would honestly suggest is just replacing them with new JBL speakers from a modern vehicle as basically all Toyotas you’ll just use JBL.
Thank you for the video! I am having a problem installing my receiver in my 04 Sequoia and if you could help me out, I would be infinitely grateful and donate to your channel. The unit turns on and functions, but I am getting NO SOUND. So, I have the JBL system in mine, too. I got the proper 70-8113 harness that has the rca cables on it. I connected yellow to yellow, red to red, and did the black to black along with the black/white splice. I did not splice the parking brake wire with the grounds because I have a pioneer unit. I imagine I could do that later. I also skipped the blue wires. The wiring for the pioneer unit included the female rca outputs to plug into the metra ones so I did that accordingly. If I'm not getting sound, then I assume that maybe I should skip the rca cables and actually splice the speaker wires instead. What do you think? Could the parking brake wire be preventing me from getting sound too?
FYI if you dont have the blue and white wire in your harness, splice it in with the blue wire. And splice the black and white wire with the black. 2003 Sequoia Limited w/ JBL package
I have a 2005 Sequoia with JBL steering wheel controls. Just purchased the SWRTY-61J to install a Dual 10.1 inch. Was reviewing the crux manual and it looks like it doesn’t have the RCA output connections to the radio; rather, it has wires to connect to the speaker wires for the radio harness. Does this matter? I haven’t gotten it yet so maybe they’re on there? Thank you in advance!
It’s one of those redundant and unnecessary phrases. The proper wording should be either “at this point” OR “at this time”. “At this point in time” is never needed and is usually heard from people trying to sound smart. In a college course for concise writing it’s one of the phrases we were taught never to use along with the overuse of “that” which can usually be omitted to improve sentence flow without affecting meaning, re: “ She told John that she had to cancel their date” is better written as “She told John she had to cancel their date”
Is you blue and white from the harness to turn on factory amp? My radio does not have a white and blue wire but a solid blue amp turn on , should I connect blue/white from Harness to solid blue on radio?
@@Metaldrummer60 yes the solid blue wire from the head unit , is the amp remote turn on so you should connect it to the blue/white on harness, If you want to double check, connect the head unit and test the solid blue wire for voltage
First of all, thank you for a great video. Secondly, I have a bit of a complicated question. I’m adding steering wheel controls to my mom’s 2004 Sequoia with JBL speakers when I replace her head unit. Does that mean I should use Metra 70-8113 in combination with PAC C4RAD? Also, the link you have for PAC C4RAD in the description shows out of stock. It does appear that PAC SWI-RC-1 will work for me (unless I’m misunderstanding something.) At any rate, if you have a link for that product that you’d like to provide me with, I’d be glad to use your link so that you get credit for my purchase. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
My Sequoia power antenna goes up when I turn the car on. But when I have the vehicle running and I switch the radio off, it doesn’t go back down. Do you have an idea why it does this? Thanks
Do these RCAs act as a "bypass" for the factory JBL amp? Asking because im diving into my 03 sequoias audio upgrades and am noticing the PO removed the factory JBL amp. Am i correct in thinking the new Pioneer HU i have will amplify each speaker with its own built in amp? Just hoping i dont have to buy a used jbl amp to make this work
I follow your instructions, everything works but my top speaker by doors are having static issues. I’m thinking it’s bad RCA connector, when I unplug the rca connector, static dies off. Anything would help at this time.
Great video Bud, just a quick question. My radio 2007 sequoia keeps making a very loud sound noise intact , some amateurs guess it’s the amplifier. What do you think
Just the info I was looking for. Amazon Q & A confirms that this doesn't support SiriusXM satellite radio. Do you agree with that? Is there any way, that you know of, to get SiriusXM?
A few variables there for sure - just depends on the setup. In most circumstances, based on the age of the amp, you would benefit bypassing the factory amp for both audio quality and power. Regardless if you bypass the stock amp or not, yo can always add your own bass amp and sub.
2 questions. 1. If my aftermarket radio does not have all rca’s for speakers do I have to tap into some wires? 2. After installing I get static noise coming from speakers, any fix on this?
Can you acxtually provide the actual names of the connections you are connecting to? none of my connections say front left, front right, rear left, rear right. If i simply place them in the spots physically, I eliminate one of my cameras. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hopefully someone can help me I’m desperate!! So I followed the instructions to the letter but I have NO SOUND. Nothing. I’ve double, triple, quadruple checked my connections. Everything seems legit. I have a 06 Sequoia with JBL system. Anybody have any suggestions on what it could be ?
You can use a 10.1 inch on your Sequoia! I actually just installed one on my 04 Sequoia. You'll need Metra harness 70-8113, 70-8114, and Axxess Converter AX-MLOC745 if you have the JBL with amp system.
I have a 2001 Sequoia and I was told by the installer that I need a special module for my new stereo to work right. He says it's because of the JBL amp. Is that bullshit? He wants $120 for the module and says i won't have any sound without it.
