  • Azzedine Alaïa - In Memoriam
In 2017 the world lost one of its leaders in the field of fashion design. Azzedine Alaïa’s death has sparked a public outpour of sentiments lamenting his life and contributions to the arts. The French-Tunisian Designer was a game changer, succeeding under his own unique business practice and turning out design after design of ground-breaking and beautiful female apparel. His physicality and affable energy made him a great subject for photographers often posing him in contrast to his towering models, though he preferred his work to be in focus. In honour of that, FIB pays respectful tribute to the life work of Azzedine Alaïa through the eyes of the people, the photographers and film makers who captured him at his best - in his moment of creation.

.....i see him the same way...i see PRINCE....singular....and superior...they lived in their own reality...their own dimension of beauty...sensuality...sex...and fun...and they invited us into their worlds...but only for a short while....i cried when they both died...they were tiny men...but had the aura and abilities that will endure...forever...they will be studied....and loved...through the ages...
