Wow, I can’t believe this came up in my feed. This is one my first press hits from a major event I did PR for. As in, pinch myself, it’s Azzedine! He was so kind to me. The supers came in. I was stunned but I ate that experience up like a starving women. Just being there while he set up..which gown with which painting was a gift. Thank you so much for posting this.

Azzedine Alaïa is the absolute KIng of Kings when it comes to fashion! he is the only creator of new fashion!
other designers just copy from him!

+obaidCarkey Yes he is, but sadly becuase he marches to his own beating drum (not showing with the other designers during fashion week, etc.) he doesn't have the financial success that he should. He's absolutely one of the very best i have ever seen.

Stephanie was a longtime fan of Azzedine, while AZZIdine was only checking for Naomi. His MIUSE and adopted daughter. She closed his shows, usually if it was not Naomi, it was another melanated Queen.

He is Tunisian born. From a family of farmers.. Born in Tunisia to Tunisian parents. He moved to France as an adult and may have became a French citizen. He is either an Arab or a Berber. I don’t get the impression he was proud of his heritage even though he studied fashion formally in Tunis.
