Now this is a fashion show. Allowing the models to stop and strike a pose to give the audience a moment to appreciate each creation. I even love that the models were allowed to interact. Shows of today are nothing more than the models stomping their down a runway looking angry and wearing nothing new or inspiring.
The opening text says the collection received high praise which is not true. Most of the response was negative. Versace was frowning at the end of the show and suzy Menkes called it a fashion moment that missed.
Good video but, what everyone forgets is that Givenchy was a proper working couture house before Galliano took over, making clothes that were worn (they did not wear the wearer). Givenchy's right hand person set-up his own couture house and all the clients followed him, leaving the work rooms dead until the next show. Galliano is very cleaver, the hype sold fragrance, hand bags etc. but, Givenchy him self was upset at what had become of his house.
