Bring everything as we don't have anything in the line of toiletries. Someone I heard has a bar of soap in Yorkshire but not sure if it is true or not.
I went into boots once and asked the assistant for a deodorant! ‘Aersol or ball type’ she asked? ‘No it’s for my armpits’ I replied! 😂 😂 😂........the old jokes are the best! 😂
I went into the same shop last Christmas looking for a Christmas tree. They asked if I was going to put it up myself...I said no. It's going in my front room! 😁

This is a true story I went in to Boots to buy some skin cream for my dog as it had itchy skin,the assistant said is it for yourself,I said no it's for my dog and she said in that case I can't sell it to you because you've told me it's not for yourself !!! more P C madness!!

That was like experiencing a totally different universe but enjoyable nonetheless. Any lads coming over to the UK, Swarfega is all you need, Halfords and other motor spares shops sell it.
Washing up liquid and a teaspoon of granulated sugar does the same job.
Or lard and sugar. Leaves your hand nice and soft too.
When you start getting your toiletries at Wilkos you will level up your Britishness.
And yeah paracetamol is the same stuff as acetaminophen.
And usually higher strength
The strength is dictated by the mg. 500mg tabs are typical in the UK. Spain sells 1000mg tabs! Don't take two :)
Get them from Home Bargains and they are way cheaper than Tesco’s, about 20p a pack.
A note on grocery store painkillers... Paracetemol is indeed acetominophen (Tylenol) but as cheap as they are, in the UK you aren't allowed to buy more than two packs at a time (32 tablets).
Aerosol cans, by law in the UK, have to be CFC free these days.. Not damaging to the ozone anymore.
The 3 main painkillers that you can take all together are Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Aspirin. All cheap as chips.
Caesium Caesium..spray it under your clothing. And finger pump atomizer.
If I have a headache I take Ibuprofen, much more effective than a deodorant.
Not a good idea to take them all together, unless you want to be dead.
@@4Kandlez Yes you can take the recommended dose of each of them at the same time.
They each relieve pain in different ways.
One affects the brain's ability to process pain.
Another blocks the body's ability to transmit the pain signals to the brain
And lastly, one attacks the actual source of the pain.
Painkillers are really cheap for the generic supermarket stuff. The pharmaceutically identical branded versions such as Nurofen cost much more because somehow the packaging makes your head feel better quicker. Watch out also for special packs offering targeted relief for back pain, period pain etc. They cost even more for essentially the same stuff because reasons...
Pack sizes in the UK are restricted to 16 tablets/capsules to discourage-angst ridden teens taking overdoses. You may also find that you cannot buy more than 2 packs at one time for the same reason.
...and 24 pill bottles of advil are considered the smaller size in Canada!
Overdosing on paracetamol is a VERY bad means of committing suicide. You're absolutely right. Ibuprofen capsules in a plain packet are much cheaper than Nurofen in its glossy packet.
I can get a pack of 16 paracetamols for 25p in Wilko's (Hardware store lol)
Try and buy more than 16 painkillers at the supermarket and you get jumped on by at least 2 of the till ladies.
If you go to the Pharmacy counter and don’t look suicidal they will give you bigger packets. 😉
Also, every town usually has several independant chemists which sell all of the above. Obviously the ranges are far smaller, but still. If all else fails, ask at the chemist. They may even be able to order things in for you 😊

Yes, there are the independent chemists/pharmacies and the price can also vary quite a bit. As they are smaller they can be more expensive but not always. There's also the pound shops, which many cities/towns have, if you want to go that route. They always sell toiletries and body care etc.

Just a small piece of education: tesco, wilko, boots or whatever - the brand of painkiller makes 0 difference, there is no chemical difference between a 'brand' like nurofen/panadol/annadin and a cheap tesco/boots/wilko painkiller: regardless of being ibuprofen or paracetamol or asprin or any other. Just read the ingredients and its very clear.
Christopher H. Came to say the same thing! A £2.99 pack of nurofen usually has the exact same active ingredient as the 40p paracetamol 😂

Agreed Paracetemol Tablet Not capsules cost less than 50p in many Stores I swerve chemists who sell the Same @ 1 pound or above same maker /Product strength, and different packaging Many assistants point you at the Generic budget value shelves
A good example as you have eczema issues like me is Look for E45 products on the shelves www.e45.co.uk/our-products/ and www.superdrug.com/b/E45 These are I find versatile such as the E45 Cream which does a great job of keeping Sunburn away (My Mum Used to use calamine lotion when I was younger) and my Sister suffers Badly as she's a Redhead Blue eyes Pale complexion >The worst combination and She too smears E45 or Petroleum Jelly on her arms are before going to work in the Hot months (She's also a bad traveller if she's not driving) Cost Not 7 Pounds in Boots & Superdrug but a quid for a Jar/Tub of Petroleum Jelly in Poundland ca 3.50 @ Superdrug OK?

You realise that Panadol is paracetamol (Tylenol) based and Annadin is Aspirin based. There is a very big difference between the two. Ibuprofen, aspirin and paracetamol are all different drugs.
As a British blokey bloke. My deodoriser of choice is Dove moisturising cream, cucumber scent, in a can... Shure it's for ladies. But almost all guy's spray have brash and bold names like "ENERGISE" or "IMPACT" or "X-treme!!!"
Hmm, Mr Unilever, what does "IMPACT" smell like.. None of that nonsense. Cucumber and green tea? Lovely.
Plus, a lovely French Vietnamese lady complemented me on it. So that made my day.
You can get 16 pack Paracetamol and aspirin for even less than that, 25p or even 19p and yes bulldog is goodstuff 👍

Painkillers in Canada are ridiculously overpriced compared to the UK. I have my mum bring over boxes of paracetamol. At Aldi at one time they were 19p. 19p!!!!!
yeah have the brand ones that can be bloody expensive here but its all the same thing just the packaging but the generic ones can be bought from about 20p a pack. one funny thing is you can only buy a certain small amount of paracatomol here think its 2 packs 16 tablet in case you are trying to buy them to commit suicide

I'm not surprised you can get John Frieda products in the UK. John Frieda is a hairdresser from London and that's where he built his business. He was married to Lulu and was part of the swinging sixties revolution when England led the world in fashion and music.

In England the best value shop for toiletries is 'Savers'. It has many usual brands and many you won't recognise. I always start with the cheapest then work my way up until I find whats best for me. Most high streets have one.

... but FYI Quality Save / Home Bargains stores - MASSIVE selection of toiletries... you'll save small fortune (next to Boots) especially for expensive stuff and medication.. food... etc...

One thing worth noting regarding painkillers is that in the UK you can only buy a certain number at once e.g. no more than 32 tablets of paracetamol in one transaction. In the US (and I think Canada too) you can buy like 1000 acetaminophen in a big tub for like $25. For most people they won't use them before the expiration date so it isn't worth it, but if you have some kind of chronic condition that involves taking it daily it's well worth stocking up in the US.
Here's a tip. Don't try buy more than 2 packs of paracetamol or ibuprofen unless at a pharmacy as you won't be allowed and will be denied if you then try to get someone with you to purchase 👍🏻a lot of foreigners try stock up in UK but be aware 2 packs per customer in a transaction but of course you can go to several shops👌🏻

What always amazes me is that the amount of active ingredients in the "own brand" is usually EXACTLY the same as the expensive brands which are many times the price

You are not a sunken skeleton eyes btw, love, its just dark circles, ((I get it too now from iron deficiency, also when very tired, so watch that as you get older... well down the track, but make sure you eat well & take your vitamins while still young, dont omit food rich in iron like I did hardly eating meat,))

Actually my mum even said that in europe they have nearly everything we have in Australia, and she didnt have to, or more like was told not to bring anything, by her sisters, as they have it all. Im talking eastern europe, too.
But I use the aveeno too, its the best, and I know what you mean about sprays but theyre convenient for a refresh after you sweat I guess?? Gross to use the roll on except after a bath or shower. That'd be my guess.
((Im guessing the dry ones keep you less sweatty/more dry to begin with?? have never tried them myself...))
Tresseme has an exceĺlent botanicals flavour which is about the best Ive ever used in a shampoo and conditioner. Otherwise I use dove, cause the botanical one is expensive and some shops only have a tiny bottle version in supply, which is overpriced.
(The normal size, which is hard to find on sale - I had really long hair before too - I just had it once to try and loved it, normally larger but thinner than those mega big bottles like the one y'all had there! Has been hard to find again in general for some reason, so dove in the meantime...)
Stuff I haven't seen;
I like the sound of that guys face mask stuff sounds good as well as the wipe face pad things
The Mitchem is very good for a dry roll on, I recommend getting that tbh. I switched from spray to that and haven't looked back. Also you can get the big name brands like Tresemme in Aldi but it's called Lacura or something. Don't rule out Aldi and B&M bargains, those are cheap and same quality.
Ive noticed a much bigger price difference in the UK between the branded and non-branded goods. Aldi/Tesco brand stuff can be a fraction of the price of the branded stuff. That includes razors, deodorants, shampoos, shower gels as well as cleaning products.
You don’t need sun tan lotion this summer . Here’s a tip ...get your toiletries from Wilkinson there Cheaper !
Perhaps one of the important things to mention is that Superdrug will invariably be cheaper than Boots although Boots will often have buy-three-pay-for-two offers.
Let's not forget that Poundland (Dollar store) have many of the 'big' brands for yes, you guessed it, one quid (pound, £).
Availability of toiletries from Supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrison, Waitrose (expensive), Marks & Spencer (can be expensive) and ASDA. Stores like Lidl and Aldi will have their own brands (as do most supermarkets) that will be much cheaper than big brands and while many people scoff at the thought of buying from Lidl and Aldi, the quality of their products is comparable to the more expensive brands.
Going back to Poundland however - never assume that everything is cheaper. Toothpaste, for example, is often a wee bit cheaper at places like Tesco.
I think that the type of pain relief available 'over the counter' in England is much wider than in the US (never been to Canada, so can't say). For example, we have Codine-based products (Codis) available at chemists (drug stores), Boots and where there are pharmacists - typically NOT on the shelves at Tesco etc. Many of the larger supermarket branches have in-store pharmacies - an import from the US, I think. If you have flu, a couple of Codis in orange juice - they are soluble and are disgusting in plain water and straight to bed will sweat the bugger out of you (keep your deodorant handy).
Talking about deodorants, there are also 'stick' type deodorants which are dry - I don't do aerosols either although I'll use a wet roll-on. Like most men, I go for what's cheap and effective rather than having any 'loyalty' to a particular brand. As long as I don't smell like a pox-doctors-clerk, I don't care.

I’m English and it was worth watching for your pronunciation of Eczema. You’re being ripped off for painkillers are Wilko’s and savers northern companies only? Only thing I would add because I know nothing but I think Lush is Lush whatever country you’re in, may be wrong but I watched a video of Molly Burke in the Lush factory and stuff seemed the same or pretty similar. Shampoo bars are pretty handy and I imagine even more so for travellers. I got some Bull dog stuff after your recommendation and for the most part it seems plant based and unisex, I like the face mask, you’re so right about that. Anyway thanks for the video I know you aimed it at other people but I would miss not listening to you a lot if I had switched off.
Wilkinsons in the UK also tend to have a large toiletries section...
Neutrogena products have been sold in the UK since the early 80's, possibly even earlier, that's when I got into them... don't remember their products before that time. You can buy the oil free moisturiser on Amazon UK for just over £13 including postage. I'm sure you can get the moisturiser you use in the shops, but if you can't, at least you can order it in the UK if you're running out.
Have you tried Pitrock for deodorant? It's a natural deodorant, you can get it in it's natural crystal shape, stick version or a spray. I love the spray because the others don't have a fragrance, but they still work very effectively. The spray is only lightly fragranced, nothing strong and nasty... I hate strong fragrances in deodorant and general body sprays. It works by removing the odour instead of masking it... it's awesome, I'd never go back to an ordinary deodorant after using Pitrock.
Other than Boots and Superdrug there are a number of other national Pharmacies such as Lloyds which sell toiletries. There is also a health food store called Holland & Barrett which is found pretty much anywhere and they sell eco style toiletries.

Epaderm cream is a good moisturiser: £12 from Tesco or get it on prescription for the cost of a prescription. Aqueous cream is also good to use as soap: £2 from most supermarkets or pharmacies (or on prescription if you get them free).

We don't need braille on med boxes because Canadian medicare systems are so good we just totally cured the last blind person yesterday!
The Aveeno you can get for £4.99 in Savers and other discount stores. Toiletries might have the same name as Canadian and US brands but they are not necessarily the same ingredients. The Clinique facewash I like in Britain used to smell differently in the US....of mothballs!

You should see if there is a Savers Health & Beauty store where you are/where any viewers will be going to. It is all the branded products that are in Boots and Superdrug etc but either moderately cheaper or substantially cheaper.

Also, I suffer from dry skin and get something called Dermol 500 (500ml) emollient, on repeat prescription. It’s especially for eczema and you can use instead of soap (as soap dry’s skin). Unfortunately for you, prescriptions are free in Wales (yay for me!) but, it still may save you cash on the Aveeno, have a word with your doc:)

Ah, to clarify, the Dermol lotion is an emollient/moisturiser (in a dispenser tub) that is designed to also use instead of soap if you want and is antibacterial too, and has no smell/fragrance :)

Clearly, her magic spells don't work. You can't say 'truck' in Kent and expect a lorry driver to understand you...
Also if you go to the pharmacy counter in tesco you can ask for 800mg ibuprofen and also co-codomal which is really cheap too. But they will stop you from buying more than 2 packets over counter or from the shelves.

I have eczema as well and have tried loads of creams and found that Vaseline Intensive care advanced repair cream (the one in the white bottle) is really good for my dry skin. It's un-scented as well. You can get it from Amazon for about £2.85 for 400ml as an add-on item and can buy 8 per order. Well worth a try. I haven't tried the cream you mentioned, so will give that a try next time I'm in town.
You can buy neutrogena anywhere here. Supermarket painkillers are exactly the same as branded ones, but so much cheaper. I find Aussie hair care products are amazing on my very long hair.💖
The basics, toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, ( and my favorite pears soap) obv a towel .x

You think Tesco are cheap, the same dose and amount of tablets in Wilko are 25p for paracetamol and 30p for ibuprofen. The good news is they are just as good too, because being a drug, standards are regulated.

Aspirin and paracetamol is cheaper in other places. But you can only buy 1 or 2 packs in any store at one time. If you want to stock up you'll have to go to lots of different shops.
Those cheap painkillers are needed in the UK because people are often hungover.

It's worth noting if you are not fussed on what brand you use then Boots usually have a special offer on their toiletries, at least in the Men's section, with money off etc.
Whenever I shop at boots I always receive vouchers for beauty products with my receipt. I think the shop assistants do it for a laugh because I'm beyond help in that department.
Well, yes you can buy Pain killers for a small amount! However due to worries about some people possibly being very upset or down, the law was changed awhile back so you can't buy as many pain killers as we could before the law changed? It just done to try to make it harder to do your self in using pain killer overdose. But this law don't help because if someone is really willing to do that, they will just go and buy one packet from each store! I don't wish to upset anyone here. I just saying we can get the pain killers cheaper but are limited to one packet per store. As for buying the stuff you talked about, you can buy them at ASDA ( now owned by Walmart ) and Tesco, & also Morrison's and even sometimes the Pound land stores. Tampons here are taxed by the nicknamed tampon tax.. the greedy UK Government did to grab more money even though we are already paying the EU's extra sales tax called VAT. which is now 20% on top of the cost of the product. When CFC gasses were still used in spray deodorants, I tried a roll on deodorant for the first time (to save the ozone layer) and got my armpit hair caught in the ball - which was eye-wateringly painful. So I did the then unmanly thing of shaving my underarm, not knowing the pain the roll on was about to inflict on me again as the alcohol in it stung like a wasp.
Thankfully both Dove and Mitchum do good solid deodorants these days!
Wright's coal Tar soap is all you need .
Sadly, that's no longer real coal tar, but tea tree oil now. I was fine with the older formulation, but as I'm severely allergic to tea tree I've got to avoid it like the plague. I'd end up looking like the elephant man if I get it on my face.

And yuck...wet roll ons are gross! Sprays are horrible too. Dry roll ons are best and we have LOADS of them in the UK. Where are you shopping? Come up north, we have loads.
Unbranded painkillers are really cheap in the UK, but be careful not to combine them with branded products that contain the same ingredients. Paracetamol is fatal at a surprisingly low dose, aspirin a little higher, ibuprofen higher again.

Hi Alanna, thanks for sharing another excellent video. When going to a new location, there always seems to be various items available in one place but not in another. Between New South Wales, where I used to live and Victoria, where I live now. there were quite a number of items that were not available in both places. Just about everything that I was using changed, especially in brand names. This especially affected groceries and pharmaceutical products. I also have problems with eczema and I can definitely identify with that. With the cheap prices of pain killers in the UK, maybe I could save money getting them from the UK, rather than buying them here in Australia. Now, all I need is a way to save on the plane fares!!! LOL. Anyway, wishing you the very best. Robert.

There is one thing I know in Canada is that painkillers are prescribed medicines where you get it a referral from a general practitioner so that I think why buying painkillers are expensive in Canada! However, I didn't know whether or not it was true?!
When you buy painkillers or cold/flu/hayfever medicine, don't just buy the big brands. Check the product code on the back of the packets. If the codes are the same, it's actually the exact same tablet, not just a cheap copy. You can save up to 65% by buying own brand. The code usually looks something like this PL00165/0393.
If you have a home bargains near you they have a bunch of this stuff for cheap. Also, I don't know if north america has Original Source shower gel? If not, get the mint one. You're in for an experience.

Paracetemol is another word for acetiminophen. (They're actually both abbreviations for the same really long chemical name, which absolutely nobody can remember in its entirety, not even medical chemists.)
16 tablets for 40 pence is actually fairly similar _per tablet_ to the American price (for the affordable generic product; the big name brand is more, obviously, because advertising). The difference is that instead of a packet of 16 tablets, Americans buy a bottle of 800 tablets or some jazz like that.
Nippen Fab has _got_ to be a British product. I mean, it just sounds so British. There are some names, you hear them, and you just _know_ it's British. "Walton on the Naze", "Spotted Dick", "Nippen Fab", etc. Has to be British.
Just add about Paracetamol 16 pack is 15p in Poundstretcher. Also in Superdrug is 25p. Just the help all of us.

I don't know why anyone shops at Boots, some of the highest prices on the market for the same products as budget stores - Superdrug, Savers, Poundland, B&M, Aldi and so on. Go into one of those stores and sometimes Boots are charging 3 times the price.
the price for acetaminophen and ibuprofen is unreal. Even buying an off brand or store brand here in Canada, would still be $10-.00-$15.00 maybe depending on the amount of capsules in the bottle. that blows my mind. 😲😲

If you are on a budget and don't want to pay over the odds, try and shop at Superdrug as oppose to Boots. For what they are Boots are very expensive.

The U.K. has EVERYTHING for feminine health/personal care. We have £1 shops, and we have “Savers”. Boots are the most expensive.
Supermarkets and pound shops, Superdrug or Savers.
You can get eczema aveeno as well in America but I not seen it here yet , most the aveeno stuff hasn't been in UK that long. Good video as usual 👍
