Lava moves like water, the ground is made of red rock, ghost-like creatures fly around, zombified pig man walk together in groups, and you see massive ancient fortresses. All this hits you as concrete halls plays eerily in the background, alighting your soul with the exact fear and wonder you experience you should feel.

What I imagine. A girl and her father come across a mysterious portal. At 0:18, they enter. The host, dry air hits them, and they see red, burning stones. At 0:21, he sees the fire and lava, and the monsters that surround them. He pulls out a sword, ready to protect his daughter. They continue through the world, and they walk past neutral zombie pigmen. The pigmen ignore them, and they slowly make their way around. At 0:43, be hears the cry of a ghast. It echoes around the mountains and cave if the burning, hellish world. He grabs his daughter's hand, and they slowly maneuver the flames, avoiding the attention of the monsters. At 1:30, his daughter begins to stare at strange things. She says she can see shadows and a few people standing in some places. She says they are scratched and burned. Her father looks around, and feels like they're being watched. At 1:54, he sees a broken bridge made of dark purplish-red brick. He mines his way up, and they stand at the entrance of a tunnel at 2:05. They enter, and he tells her to stay close. At 2:16, she begins to clutch her father's hand, and she begins to say things like "I can see them staring" or "what are they daddy?". He has no idea what she's talking about. At 2:37, she gasps, and he looks at her. She stares down the a hallway to their right, and she points, saying "he's here! Did you see him? He was in my dream!" He begins to worry. She acts strangely sometimes, but he just thought she was delusional. But she never used to talk about creepy things like what she said she saw in the world. At 2:55, he sees someone at the end off the hallway. The person quickly turns the corner. But he saw the quick flash of white. His eyes. They were empty. He gripped her hand and walked faster. He feels his daughter's hand slip from his at 3:18. He turns to see her gone. She had run off. She ran down the hallway to follow the man, but her father went the other direction, thinking she went that way. At 2:26, she walks down the hallway, and turns around. Her father didn't follow her. She thinks of turning back, but looked back down the hall. The world was filled with red fog, and she saw the eyes in the fog. She saw shadows dancing on the wall, and could hear the distant sounds of the dead. She's seen them all her life. They never believed her. She slowly made her way through the hallway. Her footsteps were quiet, but she could hear them. At 3:43, she calls out for her father. She calls again at 3:55. She can hear strange sounds, and she comes to a broken bridge. She stands at the edge, staring at the burning landscape full of shadows and ghosts. At 3:59, she calls to the person at the other side of the broken bridge. He disappears into the red fog, and she stands there for a few moments. Then, at 4:04, she hears the cry of a ghast. Her eyes widen, and she stood still. Her father could hear her distant calls, but then, it fell silent. Was near the portal, and he stared at the distant fog. The fortress loomed over the lava and the world, and he suddenly felt chilled. He was no longer warm in the hot land. It creeped him out. He stood silently, and realized that his daughter was likely not going to be found. He had a son he had to take care of, and he felt that if he stayed longer, he would be lost as well. So he left her. Every miner that ever visits the nether can hear her calling for her daddy as she waits for him to find her. He ghostly form still lingers in the red fog, and you can sometimes hear her voice calling for help. But her father would never come. All that's left is a voice.... a memory. Her shadow on the wall is nothing but a lost soul crying for her father.Always lingering.......always listening......always waiting.....
Become a writer. Make stories. Find music. Create. What you did here was amazing. I was getting chills! You thought of all these things and with the music... it all was perfect. I can see a movie or something come out of what you wrote. You have talent! Props to you 👌🏼
I've loved this song since the first time I heard it a few years back. Really hits hard, especially with the atmosphere. No cave sounds, nothing creepy. Just dramatic music that communicates *exactly* how dangerous the nether is
Doomed to wander the halls of the great fortresses for all eternity....stone swords scraping the ground...black burnt dust flying off your old, cracked bones. The heat is ever present, weighing on you like a harsh rotting breath. Just before you think your misery can end with a well aimed slash from a human’s sword. You find yourself rising from the fire, and ashes. To once again defend the great fortresses. This is your existence, embrace it. Fight and never stop fighting. For you are a wither skeleton.
Artur it is a metaphor for a certain kind of life. "Hell" represents any dismal situation you may go through at any point in time. It could be the loss of a loved one or a case of extreme psychological or physical pain. Sometimes hell can destroy you, reminding you of those days that you were prospering and happy, and had a life ahead. Sometimes something may happen that impedes you from doing these things. You may go homeless. You may hear awful news that you or someone you love was diagnosed with cancer. Or you may work a job that you hate just to earn money. You may come to the end of your life, or to the end of something, and feel that you have wasted it. All hopes and dreams... gone. Yet, music, and a particular type of music, can stimulate you and keep you going. Or it can help you come to terms with your predicament. Or it can completely consume you. This is that kind of music.
Everyone here is talking about the nether, but think about how greatly the name fits the song. This really makes me imagine abandoned huge brutalist buildings and such
The percussion part that starts crescendoing at 1:11 sounds like a monster, or something trying to get you, just getting closer and closer, very very creepy and eerie, I never went into the nether again after hearing this song as a child.
About 6 years ago, I decided to build a wooden house in the nether (dont ask why, I was 7) and it burned down nearly right as I got done with it, a tear filled my eye as 2:53 played. After that I didnt like nether music. Now I absolutely LOVE this song
I see a lot of people describing this song as scary, a herald of death and hell, but to me it inspires awe, fear, inspiration, and respect for the Nether, the vast dimension that stretches on in endless caves.
Holy shit, this ties so well into the new biomes... With all the particles floating around... The eco-system thriving within' the nether... It's so atmospheric!
this music makes me feel: you build your portal and as soon as you get in, the portal breaks down, you find a giant pool of lava in front of you, you ran the other direction and try to light the portal, but it dosen't work. you try to find resources for the portal, but all you find are horrifying creatures crawling around corners, slithering hovering, and running . they all spot you, you find you strider and head off. a ghast attacks you and you get flung onto a big black castle, you get shot by a blaze, and you *die.*
Back when the nether was painful to look at, I just assumed that the netherack was just made of crushed bone and flesh, it also kinda looked like it was somewhat fresh with blood still visible in a bright red shade, and I didn’t like to stay in the nether for long because I believed the netherack was made of the adventurers that stayed for past their welcome 💀
The first time I heard this, this was a new update, it was the first song I heard in the Nether. I instantly went back to the Overworld. After that, I turned my music off.
I know this song sets the ambiance of the nether but when I played after the update for this and entered the nether and heard this I said fuck it and never returned to the nether and still haven't returned
This song really gives off the feeling that The Nether was once just like the overworld, and overtime something happened so now its just endless ruins covered in darkness and flames.
I love how every theme for the nether feels like an open expanse, but feels closed at the same time. like how the nether is a endless expanse of fire and hostility, but feels also enclosed and trapped. you almost feel bad for the mobs that live there, having to survive in a hostile world that doesn't forgive. it truly is hell.
This song makes me imagine something: Wandering through a hallway, a very bland hall. You come across openings to black voids, red skies, and closed off areas. You continue walking aimlessly, searching for an answer. Suddenly, a figure appears in front of you. You hear cries of pain echo across the concrete halls, which seal you to the ground. Suddenly, it moves, causing panic. You are pushed back by an unseen force, into an opening leading to pure nothingness. The echoes continue, then slowly fade as you fall into oblivion. You can't stop it, so you embrace the black void...
You step through the portal, tumbling out on the other side cutting your hands on the jagged rocks. The heat and dryness suck the water from the inside of your mouth and eyes, making it hard to see and breathe. The air smells of sulfur, smoke, and burning flesh. You stand up, wiping the blood from your hands on your pant leg. You turn back briefly to the prismatic purple portal behind you, knowing your friends are behind it but won't be joining you for the journey. You rub your eyes trying to more clearly see the firey expanse around you but to no avail. You begin to travel in a random direction, hoping to find a mysterious fortress.
I feel like Nether music gives the best astmophere feeling of a Hell dimension you hear all of these strange things and you pretty much explore the unknown giving a ominous scary feeling which I love.
Yeah, I know. The soundtrack is even better because ghast sounds play throughout, it adds a whole new element that adds to the intimidation factor. The rest of this reply will just be a documentary of all instances that a ghast sound is played. 0:42 1:04 1:26 1:53 3:43 3:53 3:58 4:04
This song always reminds me of the first time I went to the nether. Late at night and mildly delirious, this song was the first that played. I got lost. Broke all of my tools. Completely immersed in the game with a real feeling of panic. The ghast noises were making me jump. After probably two hours, I didn't make it out. Respawning was like snapping out of a bad dream: nighttime and raining, but safe again. Something about this tune. I can't get enough of it now...and the muffled ghast cries that sound like a little girl calling for her father give me a whole new level of chills.
My guests of these sounds from 4 C418's Nether songs are: Dead Voxel 0:05 Ambience because Nether has Ambience like in Caves in the overworld 0:22 ghast echo 0:38 whispers of ghasts 3:41: lava bubbling and popping Ballad Of The Cats 0:34-0:50 and in 4:07-4:35 ghast echos Concrete Halls 0:13-0:47 and in 3:20-4:09 ghast sounds Warmth 0:01-1:10 and in 2:54-3:34 Either Blaze shooting fire balls or Nether Ambience what caused the banging sounds During the song most likely Nether Ambience of clicking noises 3:35-3:48 liquid flowing 3:50-3:54 either Nether Ambience or blaze moaning.
When I first went into the nether in about 1.5 or 1.6 I heard this, I had no idea on how the volume controls worked so i just enjoyed hearing this. so much nostalgia...
This song is such a melancholy and lonely tune. It’s has the same melody as some other Minecraft songs, but it’s calmer, less upbeat. It perfectly encapsulates that feeling of wonder when you first entered the Minecraft world, but something isn’t right, since that wonder is also accompanied by fear of what creatures could be creeping around. This song is just amazing.
When I think of this song, I think of a large factory filled with large gears and pipes blowing much steam and a red and yellow atmosphere, as the chained workers work forever, as their souls are trapped in an infinite abyss of pain, strapped to the chains of misery and despair while working days upon days, slowly becoming more and more dead, and asleep. They work forever, but there is still a very small amount of hope in few of the workers, but for many workers, the pain will never end... *I should be a poet...* EDIT: wait im so confused i have never heard this song when playing minecraft in the nether I thought it was from the update what is wrong with me i need to fully join the minecraft trend...
this song really tells you "many have fallen here, tread lightly or leave now.

Props to you 👌🏼
LizzyTheRed Fiske yooo...
*Can I use this please in a video where I list theories about certain mobs? You can have full credit and everything. Also please become a writer.*
Аплодисменты мои аплодисменты друга!
This song play when I was in the nether
Seems like the song says me "You are alone in this world, be careful"
It's dangerous to go alone! Take this wooden sword, hero!
Intro:
*Look behind you.*
I genuinely can’t think of any imperfections in this song, true perfection.
C418 did a good job on making his soundtracks sound like it has a huge message
There are two points of view of hell
C418 - Concrete Halls
or Mick Gordon - BFG Division
Yeeeah
Dread and hopelessness vs pure adrenaline
@@renhaker and there are two kings of hell, Herobrine or the Dark Lord
Pretty much, you’re either taking on hell by yourself
Or your exploring hell by yourself, alone, and very very helpless

4:05 there's a sound of a ghast
Ethan McPherson sounds like a lost child saying DADDY

Echoes and close up
I believe theres a bunch of ghast sounds around in this son. Well.. It just sounds like it-
And that's super evil because you end up instantly putting your guard up when hearing it, event though it's part of the track.
I've loved this song since the first time I heard it a few years back.
Really hits hard, especially with the atmosphere.
No cave sounds, nothing creepy. Just dramatic music that communicates *exactly* how dangerous the nether is
I like those twisting, reverberating drums that play in the background
i like how at 1:54 you can barely hear a ghast in the backround
You can feel the sad in this song... :(
I always do.
Stop being too emotional

Doomed to wander the halls of the great fortresses for all eternity....stone swords scraping the ground...black burnt dust flying off your old, cracked bones. The heat is ever present, weighing on you like a harsh rotting breath. Just before you think your misery can end with a well aimed slash from a human’s sword. You find yourself rising from the fire, and ashes. To once again defend the great fortresses. This is your existence, embrace it. Fight and never stop fighting. For you are a wither skeleton.
@@fellipedasilva99 bro that was amazing you really know how to write
This is the song that keeps you out of Hell and reminds you of your lost hopes and dreams, all while stealing the souls of those who listen to it.
Airglow wtf
Artur
it is a metaphor for a certain kind of life.
Stealing the souls of are ears and making are ears give us the urge to listen this for more than in hour
3:43 Anyone else hear the haunting cry of a ghast here?
yes
Yep
I like to imagine the character is hallucinating from the heat at this point
It sounds like someone saying daddy

Everyone here is talking about the nether, but think about how greatly the name fits the song. This really makes me imagine abandoned huge brutalist buildings and such
Nether fortresses
Да
I find it hard to believe that this ost came out 11 years ago. Man, I feel old!
Still crazy how the Nether used to use Overworld music, then it went to this as being one of the tracks. It completely changed the vibe and I love it
Two ways to interpret this song.
Either you're exploring the nether, lost and alone...
Or you're challenging an entire dimension solo.
How the “hell” is the song so good
Good one
Yeah, it was fire.
Oof
thats a bad pun
*cough*

This song started playing the first time I ever wandered through the empty and spacious halls of a nether foretress and I thought it was magical
The percussion part that starts crescendoing at 1:11 sounds like a monster, or something trying to get you, just getting closer and closer, very very creepy and eerie, I never went into the nether again after hearing this song as a child.
Dude, the deep ghast cries echoing from beyond leading up to an actual ghast noise would seriously fuck with me.
About 6 years ago, I decided to build a wooden house in the nether (dont ask why, I was 7) and it burned down nearly right as I got done with it, a tear filled my eye as 2:53 played. After that I didnt like nether music. Now I absolutely LOVE this song
o7 for wood house and your 7 year old logic man
2:53 has a haunting beauty to it i agree
I can't even believe that C418 did it, you can immediately see that he has become more experienced in the music field
I see a lot of people describing this song as scary, a herald of death and hell, but to me it inspires awe, fear, inspiration, and respect for the Nether, the vast dimension that stretches on in endless caves.
If theres a minecraft movie this song better be playing over the characters discovering the Nether
1:52 i swear to god i will always get chills hearing those 2 exact notes.
Was really the best part about the old nether. Really nostalgic, emotional track that sounds like you really were not meant to be there.
"Old nether"
Wym its still in the game
Holy shit, this ties so well into the new biomes... With all the particles floating around... The eco-system thriving within' the nether... It's so atmospheric!
the nether forests SUCK
this music makes me feel: you build your portal and as soon as you get in, the portal breaks down, you find a giant pool of lava in front of you, you ran the other direction and try to light the portal, but it dosen't work. you try to find resources for the portal, but all you find are horrifying creatures crawling around corners, slithering hovering, and running . they all spot you, you find you strider and head off. a ghast attacks you and you get flung onto a big black castle, you get shot by a blaze, and you *die.*
After that, I turned my music off.
pegasus6540 do you even understand music
I know this song sets the ambiance of the nether but when I played after the update for this and entered the nether and heard this I said fuck it and never returned to the nether and still haven't returned
@@heavenbounddeath32 honestly i stay in the nether to listen to it, its super good, and fits well when you find a fortress
I had the Minecraft beta on to chill until I heard the beginning of this song. I instantly skipped when I started hearing those sounds
Yeah that was me when I was young when this music popped up but now it feels kinda cool well except that last part
This music properly scared me when i was younger. I remember turning down the volume whenever it came on lol
It’s interesting to look back after the new music was released.
This song is more atmospheric, ngl
You have been walking for hours between deadly clifs and lava, you just want to GET OUT.
Don’t forget about the -friendly- creatures
Not friendly
It sounds Pretty good when you really get in to the song.
You walk through the mirror finding yourself in a mysterious forgotten dimension you see your family but they have buttons in their eyes- Coraline
When I first played survival back in 2012, and got to the Nether, this song started playing
This song really tells you that this place isn't like the overworld, leave now or face the horrors. This song will never get old
This song makes me imagine something:
Wandering through a hallway, a very bland hall.
You died and you lost in a strange world with imaginative creatures and past times from your mind and sins you commited in your past
Matt Attack! ''British lad for short'' Nah, you just stop thinking after you fall into the void.
Awesome.
Charles E. I had a dream like that... exept with screaming humans saying that there in hell
Charles E. Actually, you are given a chance to Respawn or Exit The World.
In my opinion this Is and will always be the most iconic Nether music
Now THIS is the most haunting piece of music I have ever heard. Honestly as a kid I was scared of this song.
Still gives me chills to this day
There is definitely worse.
You would be shocked what horrific music can exist
Out Of all the Nether songs- this one is my favorite
This would be a perfect Halloween music to play on Halloween day and night
I feel like Nether music gives the best astmophere feeling of a Hell dimension you hear all of these strange things and you pretty much explore the unknown giving a ominous scary feeling which I love.
0:41
You hear a ghast
And I think a blaze too
Yeah, I know. The soundtrack is even better because ghast sounds play throughout, it adds a whole new element that adds to the intimidation factor.
The rest of this reply will just be a documentary of all instances that a ghast sound is played.

This is one of those games songs where you know it's from Minecraft but you think of a different game when you hear it
Simultaneously creepy, unsettling and menacing, but relaxing and calm. Amazing. C418, hats off to you. Spectacular work.
My guests of these sounds from 4 C418's Nether songs are:
Dead Voxel
0:05 Ambience because Nether has Ambience like in Caves in the overworld
0:22 ghast echo
0:38 whispers of ghasts
3:41: lava bubbling and popping
Ballad Of The Cats
0:34-0:50 and in 4:07-4:35 ghast echos
Concrete Halls
0:13-0:47 and in 3:20-4:09 ghast sounds
Warmth
0:01-1:10 and in 2:54-3:34
Either Blaze shooting fire balls or Nether Ambience what caused the banging sounds
During the song most likely Nether Ambience of clicking noises
3:35-3:48 liquid flowing
3:50-3:54 either Nether Ambience or blaze moaning.
I haven't played minecraft since 2012, came back to the nether after 8 years and this is what I hear, so fucking epic.
This should play everytime you first go to the nether to show that no overworld being belongs here
at 3:41 you can hear ghast cries, and they are absolutely chilling
When I first went into the nether in about 1.5 or 1.6 I heard this, I had no idea on how the volume controls worked so i just enjoyed hearing this.
so much nostalgia...
Concrete Halls deserves a diamond award
Yes.
This is easily one of the most nostalgic songs in the entire soundtrack for me.
*I should be a poet...*
EDIT: wait im so confused i have never heard this song when playing minecraft in the nether I thought it was from the update what is wrong with me i need to fully join the minecraft trend...
The song you heard when you explored that fortress
