Thanks to this video, I now have a better grasp of Holosmith and have been playing it non-stop. I do however play full Viper's on P/P and Sw/Sh or Diviner's + Ber + Mau on Rifle. I think it's true that once you get the flow of the engineer, it's hard to go back. It can be quite addictive.

nice build. a few alternative suggestions without touching your concept too much: Emergency Elixir (middle trait in alchemy) has a quite high ICD in competitive modes (especially pvp) so i prefer Backpack Regenerator most of the time; Also Elixir Gun can be a substitute for Elixir U in Conquest as well, since you get a Stunbreak via your Toolbelt and a much more versatile skill with the Kit itself, which can really help with group fight situations: massive (group only) cleanse with poison application (3), really nice cleave pressure with the 4 and some healing / combo field shenanigans with 5. The 4 jump can also be used to enable some shortcuts (like getting to mid in eternal colosseum via the gap at the ramps or jumping from one side of the upper platforms to the other in Forest's mid). All the might application via HGH also is group wide with the Kit.
the thing about elixir emergency cooldown is that you dont need it to be procccing all the time because you arent in danger of dying all the time, if you survive a situation because of the trait, you generally live long enough to use the trait again, or you die and respawn and it comes back off cd while you wait anyway
Sky hammer only decaps if the node is full capped so if you are in a position to, it's okay to 9/10 cap and then wait for skyhammer and then full cap with just one tick. You didn't experience this situation here, but it seemed like a nice information to let ppl know :)

Would you say Scrapper or Holosmith is better for roaming? I can 1v2 consistently on scrapper; I know Holosmith is more technical but so far struggling on every fight.

If you look at video again, you will see short symbol (look at where boons are on bar) for when Sigil of Vision are active (weapon swap - here changing between Photon Forge and your normal skills counts as weapon and using Toolbelt (F keys) + kits). When Vision trigger it give you 100% critical chance and this is independent on your ordinary attributes for Critical Chance or Fury boon. It have 3 seconds time frame so one have to get out as much damage as possible during that time window for max damage. Every on swap sigil have internal 9 seconds cooldown, so using two on swap sigil like Sigil of Cleansing means that sometimes you will not cleanse or get 100% crit as long those have triggered (procs), if you don't watch out for how you to chain those with your other skills. With high critical chance it might even be better to use Sigil that are "on critical hit" type as that is a warranted to trigger when Vision trigger (and from normal critical chance + Fury). Sigil of Generosity are rather cheap and have a 6 seconds CD, so it another option, depending on what you are fighting, it should reduce the need to use light fields or aura to get rid of the most damaging conditions. wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_Generosity

not as good, but rev and guard are pretty broken, if you want to do competitive dps in fractals just remove alchemy and go firearms for all the crit traits and you can pump damage
@@Vallun Oh believe me I know. I've been brute forcing my way through fractals on my scrapper since I started playing last year. I save plenty of pugs with the function gyro. Doesn't mean I'm ever appreciated though. So I guess what i'm asking is if it will ever have the competitive DPS numbers people so desperately love in this game.
@@Vallun yeah, it's kinda tragic honestly. as someone who hit F.God with scrapper pre-quickness buffs after less than a year of chill PUGs, I think most players need to eat a chill pill

ok holosmith gets a SWORD and has a shield and a gun as offhand. thats it. this means also: close combat not range. unless you have to throw swords and shields. from all classes i played the last weeks now in open pve, holosmith is by far the worst joke. i managed to solo some group hero challenges wiht all other classes. holosmith does nothing. maybe jhe does wiht some max gear and the usual other engineer setups, but the very core of HOLOSMITH with its given sword...its as lameass as it can get vs any harder enemy so far. the profession has nothing, no movement, no valid selfheal, no special damage, no seriously working selfprotection, wiht the shield sword combo. at on top you get the overheatingbullshit on top of the shitcake. the engineer itself is an overcomplicated class wehich in the end is played as a range shoot or bomb class with some turrets. always. compare it to the druid and play the druid to see where the engineer flawes are

scrapper is definitely better at the moment, but scrapper is also more susceptible to conditions
