- Chronomancer is one of the more complex builds for Guild Wars 2, but learning how to take control of its massive utility and combo potential will be a lot of fun and versatility. This build is meant to take that to the next level and perform decently in all game modes with minimal playstyle and gear swapping so that new players can get into the game without all the grinding for different game modes.

I truly love these videos. As a returning player who was new when I stopped playing, alot of these elite specializations are intimidating. I appreciate the time and the detail you provide in these videos. Its helped me alot to minimize what gear and wep sets to use.
love this series. built a few from the first set, they're all very fun and have a lot of synergies that aren't obvious at first glance.
This series is a lifesaver. Gives me a decent template to start with and then I can personalize the build to my liking.

dude as someone who just started playing the game and picking mesmer, I strugggled soooo much until I watched your video like 10 times xD thanks for the newbie friendly build I can use alone :D
This is a really fun build. I like builds not all in on DPS and Big numbers, but surviveable ones. Soloed Champion Unbound Djinn with this on Fireworks runes (meh about WvW), and it was so fun. This and Power Mesmer all the way.
thanks for this versatile build. I played Mirage too much and your Chrono build is extreme fun. As always you consider also sustain in your build which is forgotten by so many

The more I dwell on this build, the more beautiful it seems.
It doesn't rely on gimmicky Pack runes to omegabuff yourself and chaining you to its own CD.
It fixes the issue with using heal signet to recharge phantasm skills, since it has other methods of sustain.
Using scepter as your ranged option and using offhand sword are no longer concessions, as their block access is now important to the build.
Continuum Split is a lot easier to access with scepter and Well of Precog is now utilizing every feature it has.
Still full zerkers for the glass, but no longer relies on blowing cooldowns for opting to do burst damage.
Cont Split is no longer a braindead DPS cannon gimmick in this build, since you can realistically upkeep DPS using heal signet since it isn't being used as a concession.
It's okay with losing Distortion, because it has more natural blocks.
Shield is actually a best in slot weapon now.
Amazing build, love the idea of it.

you dont, its not viable in wvw, more of a gimmick
zerker is not viable for much outside of strikes and open world honestly.. ive tried so many times because i love the playstyle but its just dogshit.. it just doesnt have the utility to be able to raceroll all content.

Love your videos. Keep them up. There is a bug with the F1 shatter that you can abuse for more damage. If you press f2 directly after f1, your f1 will hit for about 50% more damage.
What are those bubbles over the clones heads? I don't see it on the same build i have.

What's your favorite pvp class at the moment?
Does the defender rune 6piece proc a lot on this build ? I have a full set in my bank but was advised to get durability runes. >.< Will mainly be playing zerg support chrono
if youre zerg support chrono then yes you want to go for durability, but if youre solo the defender rune gives you way more sustain

how would this build be for pve with full marauders and superior exuberance runes? i'm asking because i'm already in full marauder and thought maybe the vitality with exuberance would make up for damage loss from berserkers possibly? Also can't get my hands on defenders runes right now
exuberance wouldnt be good at all, maybe divinity for now

Is there a big difference between this build and the one you made for Mirage ? The mirage one is a little old now (8 months), does it still hold up ? After watching both of them, I'm not seeing too much of a difference between them. I like the Mirage mechanic more than the Chronomancer reset, even though I prefer the Chronomancer weapons of choice. I guess my question would be, which one deals more damage overall, which one has more survivability, and which one is easier to master. Thanks.
the answer is none of them, play which you prefer, chrono is generally more dmg but less survivability

What armor set is that?
When it comes to pve in dungeons and such, are there dedicated tank and heals you need or is it just everyone shares those roles?
supports and dps, not so much tanks unless its like raids and even then a support can usually do it

Just started gw2 today chose mesmer and found these guides. I'm wondering which build to go between the split surge mirage and this chronomancer? which would be easier for a noob
p.s i got a level 50 boost available from when first created the character years ago but never got round to playing ^^
this build is def easier for pve, the mirage is easier for wvw and pvp

Hey Vallun. Its a bit late question but is this build outdated or still useful? Since Anet has changed inspiration traitline, phantasms no longer has aegis on their first summon. So is defender rune still worth to play?
perhaps not, can still gain lots of healing regardless with scholar rune
What runes do you recommend if defender is not available? I don't want to waste these runes on exotic gear tbh.
just get hoelbrak then, theyre cheap

just a tip for guide videos.. you specifically refer to abilities that have been re-bound to something else in this video and while it seems silly can def cause confusion for new players. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when you do these guides i would recommend using default key binding and explaining them in that way because when you refer to abilities and point them out with a different button, there might be a disconnect.
i thought i did refer to default keybinds?
Is it harder to time pvp shatters without the super speed clones?
yes but often you have enemies CCd with shield or gravity well
Nice hard class to get into. Curious how do deal with swarms of mobs. Just playing through the story and so many times dying to swarms of mobs can deal with single mobs not so bad but it is like wtf when you have 10 things chasing you around
Is there another armor rune set to use if you don't have Defender?
then you would just go scholar

I don't understand why did you chose to go for Slow route for PvP despite Lost Time and Delayed Reactions being one of the weakest traits in the entire game (if not the weakest). Slow from Delayed Reactions wears off by the time CC ends and there isn't enough Slow application to justify going for 3 sec Alac on 3 sec CD instead of other 2 which are way way way more consistent. I would understand the idea behind it if you had Danger Time but you didn't get it either. (which wouldn't worth it anyway after the last nerf). I am not trying to bash you, it just seems like a weird choice when generic shatter build which you used yourself before is much more effective.
i realized that the sustain on chrono was super low, but with more alacrity it became better because more cooldowns and answers, and the alacrity uptime not only gave more skills to use but also more clones to shatter and then more alacrity
i love your builds but a small criticism from a person who just got into the game and is not familiar with everything that has to do with the skills or the character im looking at , im wondering why would one put subtittles right in front of the skills your showcasing or the rotation where we cannot turn it off the subtittles or see the skills that your trying to teach about this is the third build i love your level of detail and knowlege of the game keep it up
you can turn off subtitles by pressing the CC button in the bottom right
Heh, of course i reroll a mesmer and crafted defender runes to find out only Virtuoso can aegis now. 💩
Hopefully this time around there will be at least one class that use conditions and not just every character wears berserker gear
the next one is berserker warrior, condi berserker :P
better is greatsword, and maybe use phantasm defender...... you will be more around 90% hp so scholar runes ...... more dps, well exactly raid build can be used in pve

Strong for PvE and WvW, not as good for PvP.
Sadly the damage is an absolute joke compared to any other elite spec or profession. I tried an exact replica of the PvE build with exotic gear and it is very disappointing. A shatter with 3 clones at maximum might does half the damage of a vindicator dodge for example. And the Vindicator can spam dodge with no cooldown while the shatter has 10 seconds. My tank bladesworn hits for 80k AoE every 13 seconds and can face tank everything. It just doesn't compare.
its not really focusing on shatters though, its on phantasms, and it isn't easy to count that damage since it occurs over a long time. If you don't like it though its ok, this is just for people who want to play mesmer
downvoted, tested about 10 hours since the release of this video, its NOT viable in roaming

i did say it was more for zerging, try to roam with one of my other mesmer builds
