Sergio, this is my first time here - I have been trying Anki for a quite a while but got frustrated with it. I am gonna check out Spaced Repetition plugin. I agree with your insight on writing prompts with the situation first and then the command needed as the answer - I figured it out after using the wrong format for a while.
I would like to see how you actually create a notes when you learning something new like Python or Linux - You gave a brief description, but it is not enough to help me compare your system with mine. If there are other videos where you have talked about this, i would be grateful if you can let me know. Have a nice day and thanks for a video packed with a lot of nuggets of wisdom and experience - when I saw you use double semicolon, I realized how much of an efficiency seeker you are - I am gonna switch to it, too - why press Shift key so much :)

Great video. You convinced me to try the spaced rep plugin. Now, having used it a bit, I have a question I'm hoping you can answer for me...I see how to create a card that supports multiple lines of text on each side, but how do you easily add blank lines? I discovered I can insert elements, but that seems very awkward. Is there an easier way? Thanks.

    • @waffleXsyrup
      @waffleXsyrup Год назад +2

to add a blank line (or create a line break within a flashcard), you can use two spaces at the end of a line followed by a line break. Example:
      _____________________
      Front side of the card

      Back side of the card
      _____________________
above, there is a blank line between the front and back sides of the card, creating a visual separation.
if you need to insert a line break within a line of text, you can use a backslash followed by a line break. For example:
      _____________________
This is a sentence with a\
      line break.
      _____________________
      which will display as:
      _____________________
This is a sentence with a
      line break.
      _____________________

you seem like you are using your laptop a lot so it seems it's the same
but what i like in anki and really amazed me is that i am a mobile heavy user, so i uses anki mobile alot and with obsidian to anki plugin there is a possibility to add the obsidian link and context
and what really shocked me is that the link is dynamic so when you are in the desktop it opens the note in obsidian on the desktop but the strange thing for me that in the mobile it opens the same note in the obsidian app i already installed on my mobile and synced it with free app called drivesync

For people who are new to obsidian.
Kindly note that there is a better app called logseq which is very simple to use and also has flashcards which is more simple to use than obsidian.
Backlinking , outliner is superb in logseq. Its free and it also uses the same markdown files like obsidian.
I started using obsidian 2 months before and found very complex to use like - dataviews dataviewjs etc etc.
Logseq query language is so simple to use than obsidian.

I learned the true power of logseq after completing this paid course which is mastery of logseq- logseqmastery by - "Dario da Silva". Its expensive but worth doing this course.
In obsidian the Dataviews , Dataviewjs is so complex to write . In logseq it can be done in a simple query. I wasted my lots of time in Obsidian overhype..
Block reference is so easy in logseq with just simple drag and drop.
Further filters inside a block is super easy with buttons provided in search option, where as in obsidian it is complicated using carat ^ symbol.
Block embedd is also so easy in logseq.
Page properties and block properties is also very simple to write in logseq , so user friendly.
There is no need to install so many plugins in logseq. Outliner is natively built in logseq compared to obsidian where there big headache in outline and we need to install a plugin for it.
Anyways, Enjoy your time in Obsidian 🤣
I did learned Obsidian thoroughly from paid courses of - Santi younger, Keep productive & Skill share etc. So much time waste.
Thanks to God i finally found logseq which is so underrated and people dont know its full power. When i say people ignore my comment. Up to you guys , i only said the advantages of it.
Even though it is markdown files moving to a different app later will cause issues as the block reference and page reference wont be transfered to a new app later.
