Thank you for your inquiry. The map pocket is right at that same size. We cut a pice of cardboard to test fit... and while it fits, the hook & loop at the base of the inside pocket will not latch. A small additional 2" piece will fix that. Answer, yes... the tablet will slide into the pocket.
What are the dimensions of the map pocket? I have a 5"x8.5" tablet. Thank you.
