Also I'm really surprised the track is letting you get away with your face shield being up. I pulled mine up after the run was done but before I hit the return road and they busted me on it. But if your flywheel explodes or your drive shaft U-joint explodes you're going to end up with crap coming up underneath there. Or worse you end up with a fire in the end up with 3rd degree burns on your face.
Might want to rewatch Cleetus' videos, since he's wearing a hans device in almost every drag race he does.

Hey Cleetus you was saying you had to much off the line that’s why you spinning... You gotta take in to consideration that you are doing a 160 mph turbo Burnout and those tires are hot . If you look at the fast radial and Big tire Guys how long it takes for them to stage it’s because there letting there tires come down in temp so they will stick on the launch. Maybe have James back behind the car with a temp Gun and experiment with what temp your tire would need to get a dead hook . Hey I was there in the video after the Saturday run! Good advice we run a dragster and have a temp gun. Good rule of thumb is the tire temp should be same as track temp. Keep doing it for dale!

I love this first run! It looked *so squirrelly* and you kept it together like a natural. Then it starts coughing and you let off that second and rip the chute... I could imagine your thoughts racing about the flying stickers, the shifty run and the engine issues in the 2 seconds after you pedaled, then you checked gauges. That run stepped up my heartbeat a couple clicks for sure! Nice highlight clip!

You compliment that car very well. You r one heck of a driver. I watch these drag videos all day every day. And most people are visibly and obviously nervous. You can see it by the way they carry themselves and especially they’ll be the ones to likely jump the gun, shift early, etc.
I tell ya, my fastest times were 11.7. I thought that was insanely fast.
Then here’s a stick shift vette running 8.30s? I’d be panicking halfway down the track and passing out from the g forces lol. Like launching in a jet.
You don’t show any sort of nervousness at all. Of course you’ve done it a lot. But still you look most comfortable strapped into a cage and running 8s. How else does someone run 3 passes with identical times to the tenth. In a manual. And not even a sequential.
Keep it up. We enjoy this.

Hell of w weekend! I was in the back ground of the video twice! When the blue fourth Gen was making a pass with Garrett I was trying to record it but I was right at the tree with the car on the left side of the track...all those 2 step bald eagles coming out actually made my phone crash😂😂

It’s better than before, but still not ideal.
It's because the air behind his car is totally dead air, so it can't pick up the chute. The idea was to fire the parachute up and away from the car to hopefully escape that dead air, but because of the wind coming off of Leroy it's still not perfect, although better than before.
It's the dirty air ! No worries.
