Oh my! Some of the comments on this simple video are just mind blowing. Please, if you don’t know what you’re doing, take your car to someone who knows what they’re doing. If you want to learn, look it up. There’s so much information out there. I just can’t believe the number of people asking about strapping different amps, running multiple subs, how to wire, etc. You can’t strap different amps. A single 1ohm dvc sub can be wired at 2ohms or 1/2ohm. Don’t run your amplifier below the minimum rated impedance. If it’s only rated down to 2ohms, don’t run it less that 2ohms. Don’t run your subwoofers over the rated rms wattage if you want them to last. Stick to the manufacturer recommendations, they know their shit better than some internet troll. Don’t do work that is outside of your skill set without help from someone who is qualified. (Putting a $150 Walmart system in your 15 yr old P.O.S. Doesn’t qualify you to install a $5,000.00 system in a brand new luxury SUV.). If 2 different wire sizes will accommodate your electrical needs, go with the larger of the two. You should never blow the main fuse at the battery. If you do, don’t just get a larger fuse. Find the problem. Did you mis calculate your amperage? Did you add more load on the circuit? Can the wire handle the current properly? So many people are getting into things that they shouldn’t be doing themselves. I’m not a professional installer, but I am qualified to do electrical work. If you know what you’re doing, help someone else who needs help. If you need help find it. Don’t be that guy that starts his car on fire because a shady salesman or some random internet person gave you bad advice.

The only real benefit of strapping is if you have already purchased a setup, maybe you didnt get the right ohm sub or you now want to push at a lower load. Lets assume you have 1 D4 sub you didnt pay attention to that and bought a 2000w amp. It only does its rated power at 1ohm. By strapping amps not only do you get the power of 2 amps but also bring you down the the load you wanted. A more common scenario. 2 d4's 1ohm final load on a decent korean 1ohm stable. They run it at 1 ohm for awhile works great no problems but the subs can handle a lot more and they have good electrical. By strapping they can directly upgrade by strapping and bringing each amp down to 0.5 ohm. Where as if you just hooked the subs up seperately two 2 amps you would have each amp @ 2ohm and would barely (if at all) of gotten any more power then you did with the single amp @ 1ohm.

Let me get this right the amps share the nominal load so if I have 4 dvc 4ohm drivers wired to 2ohms that will result in my pair of amplifiers working at a 1 ohm load since basically whatever the final load is gets split by the pair ... Do you have to use two amplifiers of the same wattage or could you use say a 3k and 6k strapped as long as they are both stable at same impedance ... nevermind the power question as I realize now you'd be running the pair of voice coils at different power ..

I’m pretty new at this and I want to ask how to know if an amplifier(s) can be strapped? I have 2 Blaupunkt 1504 amps. I ordered these before I started learning about amps. Lol. They are 4 channel with 4 RCA inputs and 2 RCA outputs on one side. The speaker outs are on the other side. Both amps came in the original boxes but had very little directions. Like 2 pages. I want to run these amps to 4 quality speakers rated at 125 watt RMS. My head unit only has left and right RCA outs. Can you give me advice on this? It’s too late for me to send these amps back. Lol.

Quick question bro, so my initial plan was to run a 4k at 0.5 ohm on 2 X V2 15's 2 ohm subs but I did research and read that you need to have sufficient electrical for a set up like that, I have a Mechman 240 alternator and 2 agm batteries but I don't know if that will be enough, so my next thought was to get 2 SAE 2k's and strap them, since my subs are 2 ohm, would that work with them in parallel or do you just recommend me just put 1 2k on each aub without strapping, just gain matching. No Problem my Friend, I Have Two SK V2 4500 Strap at 2 Ohms and if You’re Voltages is at Least 14.4 they will Put Out 9,800 Watts at 2 Ohms which is Not Bad.but I could get more by Gain matching Them but both Amps work Together and the Voltage is Great, so good Luck my Friend and Enjoy.👍🏾

So if the amps wher rated 1000 a peice at one ohm how come there wasent two thousand. On the first test. If the amps saw 1 ohm ..so really 1 amp at 1 ohm will do almost the same

When setting the gain do you set it for 2ohm or what 1 ohm since the amps are sharing the load.

So if the amps wher rated 1000 a peice at one ohm how come there wasent two thousand. On the first test. If the amps saw 1 ohm ..so really 1 amp at 1 ohm will do almost the same

They aren’t rated at 1000 a piece. They’re rated at 600 a piece hence the 1200 rms when strapped
Why don't just run them separate and have both a 1 ohm.
Because then you would have to gain match and to set the gains perfectly matched you need one of those SMD devices I forgot which one it is
The whole slave and master terms being used is lame regardless if that's its original terminology
