I have the nx1 with the 45mm, 60mm, 85mm and the 16-50mm s...this camera is the best. I get professional photographers saying, I didn't know that Samsung made a camera this great. This is a very special camera.
I’ve seen one guy on RUclips that said all of the great things about the camera and then in the middle of his video said it doesn’t have a great dynamic range but I’ve never once had that problem. I’ve always gotten great dynamic range out of my Samsung NX1. That guy was filming inside of a car and the inside of the car looked really nice with very good color but outside the windows the environment and the sky was all blown out and overexposed. I’ve never once had that problem with my Samsung NX1. I guess your camera equipment is only as good as the photographer. Like they say. You can buy the best camera in the world, but that won’t make you a good photographer and that won’t make your photos come out better and a good photographer and I have a really cheap camera with really low specifications and still get great shots. I cannot believe that Samsung had the best camera of its time and somehow I didn’t get the recognition that it deserves and ultimately shut down the camera division. Also, I want to give a shout out to my Samsung NX30 and my Samsung NX Mini and my Samsung Galaxy Cameras ( I have 2 ) and my Samsung Galaxy NX. Mmmm these are such good cameras.
14:17 So Samsung NX1 120 FPS slow motion video files are recognized as slow motion files on my iPhone, which means I can adjust them in the native built-in camera app for regular speed or slow motion on my iPhone and that’s pretty damn cool.
Still have my 2-NX1's and their professional S-lens line. it's a beautifully elegant camera. Also I use vintage lenses on the NX1. Thanks for the video
I got 2 x NX500 + 2 x NX Mini and they works fine exept from battery life. One neat feature is when you connect the camera to a PC, you got the applications on a separate drive. How neat isn't that! I also purchased a rare adapter to connect NX500 lenses to NX-mini and that works fantastic. I wish Samsung would reconsider to start making cameras again. It would change the world... again!
The auto tracking/auto focus on the NX-1 was a life saver back in the day with my Ronin M gimbal, on a VERY long follow-tracking shot of a woman walking through a diner, from table to table... the focus was tack sharp throughout. Great Camera, well before its time, to this day.
I remember my 2015, MacBook Air had a difficult time editing H.265 video from the Samsung NX1. Oh, I ended up buying a M1 MacBook Air and selling the 2015 MacBook Air to my brother for cheap so he can give it to his wife. The M1 MacBook Air doesn’t even stutter one bit in any editing program with video from the Samsung NX1 camera. I added the modded firmware to my Samsung NX1 and set every video resolution to 160kb Bitrate. By default the Samsung NX one records at a 80kb Bitrate. I also love the fact that 4K recording does not have a crop on this Samsung NX1 camera. I had a Samsung NX500 and that does crop in on 4K video and that’s kind of annoying. I also love the fact that I have several of these Samsung mirror list cameras and I have never once gotten an overheating warning. I had one that was visibly warm to the touch, but never stopped recording. If you’re curious, that would be the Samsung Galaxy Camera aka Samsungs 21x zoom Android pocket camera. Still I had it on a hand mount so I didn’t have to touch the counter when it was hot and it never stopped recording until I got to the 30 minute recording limit. It was also something that I could just push record on one more time and keep using it because they don’t overheat and they don’t stop recording, I don’t automatically shut down. I’ve never had any overheating problems on any of my Samsung cameras and believe me I’ve got six different Samsung cameras at this moment.

please tell me where to download the camera app. I have an nx300. and the phone s22 / those applications that I found are not installed, I need an old android. What should I do?!
How do your connect your nx1 to your phone? The app stopped working many android updates ago. After watching this video, I thought I'd give it another try, downloaded the smart camera app to my s10. Now it wants me to download Samsung accessory service but says it isn't compatible with my phone. Is there a replacement for the accessory service? Thanks
The camera market would be in an amazing place if Samsung stayed in the market. It's been pure stagnation for years. I was forced to move from my nx500 because it's starting to die and got a Sony zv-e10... 7 years newer but it was like going backwards.. no more high rez OLED.. crappy non touch menus.. lower megapixel sensor... overheating... And it costs more.
i still use NX1 with 50-150.... i didn t find any cameras with the same 4k level of quality... can you suggest something? one question..i do not have a 3840/2160 30p but i have 25p. why? maybe i missed the last firmware?
Hi Magnus, great video for wich I thank you. However, I do not agree about the connectivity of the nx1. In my case, (I have an LG smartphone) it sucks, and it takes a lot of time to connect, and sometimes it even fails. Best Regards, Jerry (from Belgium Europe).
Latest smartphone firmware has made it difficult lately. Unfortunately without continued support, the connection difficulties are not surprising nowadays.
It’s also made this camera way to expensive for a not real “cinema camera “ if you go to eBay there running 700 bucks when they were less brand new for a discontinued Samsung no way go with a gh5 or sonthijf for that price not a low Samsung
They go for over $1200 and that’s the original selling price. I just happened to get lucky and I found mine on eBay for $800 which came with a camera bag and 4 lenses and 2 ND filters and three charging cables and two batteries. I’m not making this shit up it came with all of that for only $800. Granted, one of the lenses was a 300 mm Canon lens with a Samsung adapter on it but I fucking love that lens. In my opinion longer focal range lenses beyond 100 mm don’t really need to be auto focus but you appreciate the fact that auto focus is in there. So knowing that I’m not able to use auto focus at all with my Canon lens is perfectly fine, especially considering that I can shoot up to 300 mm with that lens. The NX1 is an amazing camera.

The NX1 was released 10 years ago today. Happy anniversary!!! 🥳

Where’s the NX2 with 4K 240 fps and 1080P 960 fps? Hehe 😜
Gosh I wish that was possible and true!
@@magnus547 it’s such a shame Samsung left the mirrorless market. They were ahead of it’s time. :(
The NX2 is the SigmaFP. The product designer of the NX1 left Samsung after the camera was cancelled and went to Sigma
Hey, Who knows the best video settings for nx1?
hi
have you ever tried to control nx1 from any gimbal
Yes, and unfortunately, it doesn't communicate with the Zihyun Crane 2.
@@magnus547Same Gimble I use.

My 50-150mm is dead, focus motor is broken, it was my most favorite lens. But I still use my 16-50mm f2-2.8 with my NX1.
I’ve never had overheating issues with a Samsung camera ever.
