    for those who can't get thinsulate, you can use polyfill instead. Thinsulate and Polyfill are both made of polyester, they just come in different forms and thinsulate just has a thermal insulator material and squished thinly hence the name thinsulate. Either way, both of them make your keyboard sound deeper and low-pitched.

    The thinsulate seems to cut the highest frequencies down the most, which is what I prefer most. I think I'm going to try and get some of that and test it out in my builds. Great video.

    I like the memory foam the best. It seems like it dampens it alot and gets rid of the higher pitch which I like. I wonder how much the desk surface affects the sounds as well. This was great comparison video though. Thank you for this!

      @@kimalyn202 Styrofoam is a good material for sound absorption and can be effective at dampening sound in certain situations.

    All of dampened sounds good IMO. But if i gotta choose, i'll take Thinsulate & Poron.

    I have poron foam on my own kb, really liking how it makes the sound more bubbly rather than dampening it all the way down, happy I made the right choice there ^^

    memory foam seems to be taking out alot of sound, as if the impact of the switch is completely being absorbed by the foam and not vibrating the case and the desk through the impact

    The thinsulate sounds so good. Less hollow compares to the no foam one, and deeper sound compares to the others.

    Poron really seemed to mute the vibrations, but ultimately, it's the switches themselves that would fix a larger amount of key noise vs just a dampening insert.

    I love to use packing foam myself, really takes a lot of the higher pitched tones out though it can be somewhat thick at times

    I could really tell a difference between memory and Thissulate, but I had a hard time telling the difference between Thinsulate and Poron. I think I'm going to put memory foam in my gk67. Great video! Thx.

    What would I pick out of poron and thinsulate. I have a tofu 60 that I’m gonna o ring mount and it has a pc plate. The switches I’m using r lavenders. What do you recommend

    Honestly as long as you're using something to dampen the sound you're fine. I'm using some 2mm thick EVA foam to dampen the sound of my keyboard.

    Nice thanks for the comparisons. I decided to throw out the crappy thin pe foam included in my rk61 and add some memory foam that was in my pillow. It made a pretty big difference :D

    That sir is a good keyboard, sounds best without foam. If I had to choose a preferred foam sound, it would be memory foam (spacebar is the biggest difference).

    Any one of them is miles better than none at all. But direct side by side I would pick thinsulate personally, but it really doesn't win by much over the other two.

    I am listening with a bass boosted speaker, and thinsulate is the thocciest out of em all.
    Memory and Poron sounds the similar to me

    I like no foam. I think it is completely fine without any dampener unless there's ping noise.

      respect. Foam makes a keyboard sound boring imo especially when people start stuffing the entire keyboard with foam

      @@greenanime8359 thing is I dislike the idea of thock, always preferred sound tests from people like velvet. Most of the keyboards I have already don’t even have much ping. Boards like the time80 and the think6.5 v2 which was stuffed with foam made me absolutely dislike typing on it as it just sounded and felt so mundane and boring

    go plateless and use a sheet of cloth between the switch and the pcb, you will notice more improvement in sound.

    none of these stick to the bottom housing surface.
    use something like sorbothane (or silicone tape) that actively sticks onto the bottom housing so it absorbs the ping-y resonance.

    The material doesn't matter much as long as you're using case foam. Metal on metal sounds terrible.

    I'm afraid to buy keyboard foam because even without the foam your keyboard still has the thock sound but my gk61 sounds cheep plasticky and the keys have a little bit of a shake does anyone know why or a solution
