The fact that Billy and Dom are still best friends, play league of legends and see each other constantly 20 years later makes me so so happy. Lord of the Rings and the shared experience the cast have is surely something unique and special.
I know what you mean. We want what they had, being part of something truly magical where you had a blast making something incredible while forging amazing friendships that last a lifetime.
I can’t express how much I love that Sean acted as elijahs real life Sam 🥰 made me think of the scene where he tells Frodo about the promise he made to Gandalf 😭
I love John Rhys-Davies lol. He’s a bit ornery at times but the man is a legend. When I was a kid, I loved him in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Crusade. When I was a teen, I loved him as Professor Maximillian Arturo in Sliders. When I saw he was cast as Gimli, I was not disappointed at all and felt he was perfect for the role! He’s an amazing actor. ❤️
Christopher Lee perfectly capturing the linguistics of the inscription on the ring of power made me grin from ear to ear. Right after Viggo calling him an emissary. Such a great moment.
I'm fascinated by John Rhys-Davies talking about his impression of Cate, it seems like he's all flushed trying not to show how much she's beautiful to him. so cute!
Hands down the greatest trilogy of all time. (No offense to star wars) but come on man.. watching this just shows how much thought and effort went into this.
Most trilogies are a successful film, a sequel and then a finale to tie it all together. These movies were made as one movie that was broken up into 3 parts. They cohere so much better than any trilogy because they are unlike any other trilogy in how they were made
John was the embodiment of Gimli 😂😂 ordering so much food is just peak dwarf behavior. Thinking about The Hobbit I'm surprised he didn't order seed cakes for dessert
I mean...Christopher Lee was still a wizard And Viggo just wanted to carry a cool sword.... Okay I lost it when I saw Gandalf with an umbrella....HAHAHAH
@@filmfan09 I hope to go and see them in a cinema at some point, I didn’t go see the first two as I was too young and only got to see return of the king in the cinema and I specially remember the opening scene with gollum and Shelob terrifying me as I was only 6.
I would love to see more of the canoe/boat scene it would be so funny. Also make sense that Sean would try make Orlando turn around, what with Orlando being good at everything. Another example of Elf envy.
Love knowing Dom and Billy have a podcast and whenever they have another hobbit on they immediately start talking about the bs they did behind the scenes
"And it's my birthday as well. I just turned 30 that day. So, we had champagne on the flight. And when we got to L.A., because of the time difference, it was my birthday again!" *_WhaT abOut sEHconD Birthdeh?_*
What gets me to watch LOTR over and over and over again is one sentence. "My friends, you bow to no one" That's it. That's THE most perfect sentence in LOTR because The King calls small and ordinary hobbits "My friends" and he and his kingdom bow to them. Nothing in the whole trilogy more perfect than that.
This is one of the main reasons I love these films is because the cast didn't know each over and over the course of the trilogy they became friends. They became A Fellowship
Just to see Christopher Lee and Ian Holm talk on screen makes me want to cry! RIP amazing actors! With Ian McKellen being 82 by now I just really hope he'll still stick around a bit longer and will at least reach the age that Christopher Lee had (93)!
Omg, I've heard about John Rhys-Davies's allergy to prosthetics that made him swear to never be in LOTR/Hobbit movies ever again, but I could never imagine it was THAT bad!! What a pro!
It’s amazing. These incredible cast of actors who didn’t know each other at the time, became the best of friends. The friendship I mostly admire Is the one between Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan.
2 decades later, i still thank the gods that Nicolas Cage ended up not being casted as (rejected the role of ?) Aragorn, and Sean Connery rejected the role of Gandalf. 😂 I feel bad for Sir Christopher Lee for not getting his dream role of Gandalf, but he made a perfect Saruman.
Why am I crying now!!! I love this cast so much!! They make me so happy, and they inspire me every day to embrace my creativity every day!!! I will always love these films forever!!!😭❤😭
I really wish that I was the age I am now when all these movies came out, I hate being 24 and having to dread the new Amazon Lotr series because everyone knows it will be defiled
It's funny how I've been listening to this video for over a year and a half now and it's still so relaxing, comforting and wholesome to witness the making of this beautiful trilogy
I grew up loving these behind the scenes interviews. I’m so glad these are on here. I missed this. Their camaraderie reminds me so much of my own friendships and just fills me with nostalgia and happiness. Thank you.
I'm lucky. I live in Miramar, Wellington. A couple of streets away from Weta. We became used to seeing Peter Jackson and the cast out and about. No one realised history was being made.
Feels so genuine, isn't it? Good, bad, ugly, they show em all. If it was made today, they will just talk about how great they are and how smooth everything, nothing is wrong during production. It will be a corporate video disguised as behind the scene.
If I could ever have one wish granted it would be to read and watch The Lord of the Rings for the first time again. Just... Go on this whole adventure once again.
Dom: Billy Boyd is just amazing
Billy: Dom’s an idiot
I laughed so hard LOL
Best friend energy
"Billy's getting better but he's not great"
"Billy is awful"
The bit about Sean Astin directing the helicopters in to land gets me every time
The way Dom holds his ear during the impersonation does it for me.
I miss DVD extras . Streaming has killed them.
I try to get my hands on more of them, thats why I cant upload that regurarly
Na, lazy Hollywood/ production crunch has killed them, DVD extras where already in decline, before on demand streaming became widespread.
What did RUclips do?
Thank God they got Viggo. He was born to play Aragorn.
I agree
The fact that Billy and Dom are still best friends, play league of legends and see each other constantly 20 years later makes me so so happy. Lord of the Rings and the shared experience the cast have is surely something unique and special.
I would say in the movie industry, it is the most unique and amazing coincidence. The whole main group of actors are a tight nit family.
Christopher Lee uttering Black speech still gives me chills.
Pure dope

You long for meaning and belonging and fantasy has the best of both
getting old I think is the answer
Lovely nostalgia
Dom: Billys such a unique guy, I'm so blessed to have met him
Billy: Doms an idiot hahaha
"We were doing this sort of scene where I die..."
so casual. only sean bean would say that so lightly.
I can’t express how much I love that Sean acted as elijahs real life Sam 🥰 made me think of the scene where he tells Frodo about the promise he made to Gandalf 😭
All of the actors were so perfectly cast that they even mirror the characters in their real lives...
And then there’s Gimli
A man larger than life and a belly to match. As Gimli as it gets.
I love John Rhys-Davies lol. He’s a bit ornery at times but the man is a legend. When I was a kid, I loved him in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Crusade. How interesting that one of the shortest chara ters, the actor is the tallest one? AKA, Gimli
Christopher Lee perfectly capturing the linguistics of the inscription on the ring of power made me grin from ear to ear. Right after Viggo calling him an emissary. Such a great moment.
I’ve had one, yes, but what about second birthday?
Elvensies?
I love how they all talk about Orlando Bloom like he's a child they had to watch over

This trilogy holds a very special place in my heart, They don't make them like this anymore these are not just movies they are a masterpiece

This is the best 😂 The Lord of the Rings cast is just perfect, they couldn't have chosen better people.

But that’s just it: He’s quietly protecting all of us.
