He wrote this towards his father, who was not there when he was growing up. I think the double growing old was him seeing himself in his father and understanding him better as he ages
I saw the double as like a metaphor for the elixir of life. Like, he keeps holding on to his carefree, happy youth in order to keep himself alive, whilst simultaneously slowly getting more depressed at the world now he's older and understands it more.
@Cliff Beats - Cory was in Stonesour first. Slipknot found him while he was in that band and brought him over. Stonesour started again after Slipknot got big.
What I see in this video is Corey watching his former self (Slipknot) grow old, wither & die. He then walks away at the end as something new (Stone Sour), like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, leaving his old life behind.
It’s the moment can’t watch sad things as I’m dealing with trying to pull out my trauma and I’m so angry and scared from years of bottling it up. I will comeback and watch this soon 🇮🇪❤️❤️
@@halosandheroes thank you. It’s a motherfuc*er but I’m anorexic and just fought a bad dose of covid and I’m 41so have given too much of my life this already ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇪
@@TheYuleTube Hmm I think you are right. I originally read your comment as this song shows how good his voice is when Slipknot doesn't. But I can definitely read it the other way too. My B.
At the time this came out, Slipknot didn’t have any acoustic songs out that showcased the range that Corey has. For many, this was the first time hearing Corey actually _sing._ Since then, Slipknot has put out Snuff, Vermilion 1&2, Psychosocial and many other tracks that feature Corey’s clean vocals. You gotta look at it with the context of time. Today, if you had listened to nothing but Slipknot you would still _know_ Corey could sing like this. 20 years ago, this was mind blowing for Slipknot fans.
Please react to the Tech N9ne featuring Corey Taylor! Wither! Corey Taylor also has a song with Kid Bookie- Stuck In My Ways that's a pretty badass song too!
I really love Stone Sour and I'm glad your driving in to them. The live version is awesome. And considering my user name I have to suggest Through Glass by them. I suggested Kid Bookie ft Corey Taylor the first time about 123.000 views ago, and I still hope you'll check it out one day because after Ronnie Radke it was kind of my entry ticket into rap. Greetings from Germany
Wait you didn’t do the live version from the same concert from the last video? 😞 So are you going to react to the live or listen to that in your own time? Should of done the live first lol still love it tho. Keep it up bro
Song 3 - stone sour. The accoustic is a soul tearing rendition.
Absolutely 💯

What blows my mind is that he also play guitar on this song. One of the best pieces of art I heard in my life.
Let's go! Zzyzx rd is another good one.
Exactly what I was going to recommend
More Stone Sour &
More Corey Taylor live!!!
If you see this, Corey Taylor just dropped a whole album on his YT Channel, including a new version of this.
This is one of those songs I listen to when I need it, but don't want it. The feels I don't want to feel are brought to the surface every time.
Stone Sour…
Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero combo vid will blow your mind!!! The 2 songs/vids morph together. Epic 😊
Corey is multi-talented. Just amazing vocals,on so many levels, literally!!💯🤘
Yea it was on the Spiderman soundtrack back in 2002
@Cliff Beats - Cory was in Stonesour first. Slipknot found him while he was in that band and brought him over. Stonesour started again after Slipknot got big.
If you want a Stone Sour song with some deep lyrics, check out Zzyzx Road.
This song was featured on the 2002 Spider-Man movie soundtrack.
Yo Cliff that hoodie is Fresh to Def
One of my favorite songs ever 🖤 I’ve cried so many times to this song lol it’s definitely gotten me through some shit 🖤
There's some great stuff Song number 3, and five finger death punch gone away, wrong side of heaven, and digging my own grave, a little bit off today
BOTHER, from the same show of SNUFF
The crowd is amazing with Corey singing man
Slipknot song I recommend is SULFUR
SHOULD BE A GOOD WELCOME FOR YOU 🔥
The guy screaming SLIP-PING is the real MVP of that performance
Slipknot - The Heretic Anthem (live on Conan)
Late to the show, but great reaction as always!!
Yeah I feel you. How would I know if liked this video without the y'all tube algorithm..?

If you’d like to go to the older sound but newer song you should check out “unsainted” by slipknot.
You should break these down like you do your for hip hop video much love and keep it up man

*hug*. You're not alone, you're loved. I wish you healing during your struggling.

Stone Sour is fantastic. 🥰
I've never understood the way you guys across the Atlantic singularise bands and sports teams. Stone Sour are an entire band.
This song really showcases his voice in a way that most of Slipknot doesn't.
I wouldn't necessarily say that. I would say it showcases aspects of his voice we usually don't hear in Slipknot.
@@rekzors I feel like we said the same thing.
@@TheYuleTube Hmm I think you are right. I originally read your comment as this song shows how good his voice is when Slipknot doesn't. But I can definitely read it the other way too. My B.
@@rekzors He definitely does use his voice this way occasionally with Slipknot too, but it's not clear, to me at least.

Cory was actually in Stone Sour before Slipknot. It's just that Slipknot broke through first. Both bands are great in their own right.
stone sour, house of gold and bones part 1, amazing album start to finish
Off the same album “inhale”
Please react to some Muse?
"Hysteria"
"Time is Running Out"
"Starlight"

Stone Sour is a great band, I prefer Corey's writing in this this band
Stone Sour really shows Corey's poetic side.
I love this song, glad you heard it!
R.A 4 Hammers
Zzyxz road would be a really good follow up to this!
My favorite Stone Sour album. Thanks for the reaction Clif Beats
Great reaction as always bubba. All of stone sour is fire. New old all if it

Check out his Song #3 acoustic video 👌
Fun fact: Corey was in Stone Sour *before* Slipknot.
You've never heard Stone Sour?! Oh wow.
Another great reaction from youtube's version of jon moxley.
I dunno if anybody has mentioned this but this is from the original spiderman soundtrack
Good choice in reaction.

Check out cmft
Dave Grohl and Corey Taylor from can to can't, there's the studio session if you don't react to it just check it out it's well worth it.
I feel (writer to writer) that you'd like the Sick Puppies early work. Odd one, Maybe, My world, and Riptide are all songs I feel you'd appreciate.
A more fun Corey Taylor reaction would be CMFT Must Be Stopped from his solo project
Yo dude. Trust you're well. Try Omega from them. Just a poem, with a difference... . Take care bud
