    This video kinda freaked me out a bit because the recordings you included had almost no background noise at all! No distant cars or airplanes, no mobs of people messing you up. Like when you were under the lifts going to the top of the mountain, the mic was a bit of a distance away from the lifts and you were able to capture very subtle sounds so clearly without background noises. In your other videos I can hear some background noises. Did you guys notice that while there? Or was this just some very good editing on Libby's part?

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  Год назад +1

      Hi Michael! Oh yes that always depends on the place right? Also this place has lots of background noise. The last recording is short but in the ling version you can hear electric noise from the lift, the pounding sound from tram and also airplanes..

    Great video, Libby's video quality is just incredible, I take it that it's the Leica she used, it all comes together so well!, I enjoyed the text in yellow, adding extra stuff :)!!!!

      Hi Michael! Thank you so much for watching.
      Oh no we use the Leica only for photography. The video is filmed with the Sony A7iv and GMaster 16-35. Some scenes are filmed on the iPhone 13.

    Japan is beautiful. All these trains and funiculars are so convenient when you want to visit these places. Especially when you have to carry all your equipment. And the prices for the trains are totally OK. I'm looking forward to the video about the M2. M2 and M4 could be the better X8-versions :) I think that the M2 is the better solution for handheld recording, especially with the internal microphones, even if its "only" 96kHz. Its smaller than the M4 and i guess its easier to mount on something like the rycote softie grip.
    Great video, as always. Viele Grüße - Til.

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  Год назад +1

      Hi Til! To be honest, I'm not sure about that right now because the M2 and the form makes it impossible to mount it to the grip. There is also no thread on the back like on the M4 or all other recording devices. They give you mic holder but that's it.
      The handling noise is crazy when lo cut is off but even with low cut filter on, it's not good when moving around just a little bit. $199 is too much in my opinion for this one.

    Way to cool! And a simple question... How much post production do you add to the sounds you record?

    Marcel, I wonder if you have had any SD card problems with the Zoom F3. I am finding that even though certain cards pass the tests on the unit, in real-world high demand data recordings - 32bit 48khz, my existing micro sd cards from Sandisk (Class 10 ultras) are not cutting it, and I'm now switching to extreme pro cards only. Can you perhaps say which cards you are having success with re the unit?

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  Год назад +1

      Hi Chris, do you mind sharing what problem you experience with your card? Right now I have a 64GB SD Ultra in the F3 and it works perfectly fine.

    • @chrisdooks5903
      @chrisdooks5903 Год назад +1

      @@FreeToUseSounds no problem, I switched card and all is ok now / had to go to an extreme pro to cope with data size and speed

    • @chrisdooks5903
      @chrisdooks5903 Год назад

      @@FreeToUseSounds so basically I used a u3 class 10 card from sandisk but it was not saving files or only saving a couple of mins despite passing the on board tests. I now would not trust the machines on board testing process and just buy a much faster card. Your SD ultra I guess is fine. I will check and see what mine is now…

      Hi there!
      Absolutely, the entire outfit I'm wearing is from Lululemon. It's actually my go-to choice most of the time. However, I have to be honest about the jacket - I wouldn't really recommend it. I've noticed it starts to develop an odor after just a few hours of wearing it. But on a brighter note, the pants are fantastic and I've had a great experience with them.

    Have you recorded with the MKH40s connected directly to the Zoom F3? It makes a great handy solution, but I’m curious about handling noise.

      @FreeToUseSounds  7 месяцев назад

      Oh yes I did that a couple of time but its quiet narrow.
