Have had 2023 S5 sportback for a few weeks. Your description is right on. Very comfortable and with better handling than most others in this purposed class; a fun daily driver that will work great with snow tires in the snow belt.
@@WD.909 I have plans to wrap it in matte color. But I'm still looking at other options. And my attention has shifted towards restoring another car I purchased.
@@cjrd1993 it is not even matter of an opinion. Sit in any BMW 2021/2024. BMW screen is bigger, provides noticeably more level of functionality. Ability to install additional apps such as traffic cameras, ect. Heads up display is multi colored. Current speed is shown in red at the instance you go over posted speed limit which reduces the fatigue (otherwise your brain must constantly compares posted speed limit vs actual as audi offers no visual aid). The list goes on. But, hey, you do you.
Excellent job on answering every relevant question I had on this vehicle. Your review narrows my choices to this car and a Lexus RC 350 F Sport. Now it's time for test drives. BTW, I previously owned an Audi A6 for 8 years. My only real issue was that the car was over engineered to the smallest detail, e.g., light bulbs.
After going from a TTRS to an Audi S5 sport-back I initially thought I’d have been happier with the coupe. I’m actually glad I went with the Sport back, I think it’s better looking than the coupe. Alas it doesn’t perform as well as my TTRS, however I’ll have a less tendency to kill myself with a more practical vehicle.
@@DriveSteady Good to know the bimmer is more sporty. How about as a daily driver on bumpy/bad roads? Is there a big difference in ride quality between the two?
My feelings on the sportback go back and forth. Maybe it depends on the viewing angle? Sometimes I think it looks absolutely superb, other times it just looks a little too long, like it's been kind of stretched too far 😀 I'm pondering an S5 (can't afford the RS5 🙁). I think I'd probably go the coupe since I don't have kids so very rarely need to carry back seat passengers and I think the proportions of the coupe are just slightly nicer. But both versions look good, just a matter of preference, really.
@@ADoug1975 I currently have the A3 without doors in the back. Also don't have kids, but not having back doors is a bitch. I will never buy a car without them again, unless it is a toy car, like a Miata or something. You want to take a hitchhiker in the rain? Your GF has to get out of the car. You want to put a laptop bag on the rear seat? You can quite easily, but getting it back sucks. That one time you want to give your parents a ride? Somebody needs to climb the back. I love the car, there is plenty of space in the rear seats, the trunk is suprisingly spacious, but usabillity is hurt by the lack of those doors.
You realize that he has a coupe not a 4 door? S4 and this S5 are different animals, I’m guessing that you are talking the sportback S5 4 door? If so, no S5 is slightly larger.
Love this car except for the screen, it looks awful sitting up on the dash and needs to be built in like a Q7. The interface is great for me, love the touch screen and options.
Probably a stupid question being a Audi but how’s the reliability? 😂 I had a 370z that unfortunately got stolen 😡 possibly looking for a replacement/upgrade next year when I move. A coworker of mine got one of these as a RENTAL CAR through insurance for some reason?!?! Never seen insurance give cars this clean 💀 looks to be few years older than this but close enough
@@spazzinvader9083 😂😂😭 probably so. If I get one of these in the future definitely won’t make it past a year without trade in for peace of mind alone 💀
Hell no its not. You need to look at the fine details with Audi. No remote start wtf is that for a car that costs 60-70K? The steering wheel is limited on adjustment and that should be electronic. I feel like I am driving a bus in mine. The car doesnt have TPMS sensors either. It will only tell you if a tire has low pressure. If you're headed to work and get that light good luck. You wont know if the car is leaking air or just low. The cup holder location???? TF is that? Im pissed i bought one and spent the money I did
The instrument panel is becoming very outdated and with the center screen still tacked on instead of integrated into the dash. Looks like an after thought AND the user interface of the MMI is simply horrible. Never the same screen twice, buttons come and go or it just locks up. Forget Car Play, too much hassle to use on short in/out car trips around town. With the removal of the knob MMI interface, far, far too many dangerous actions are required to touch the screen and hit the correct button. I could go on for days but I won't. This is my third and last Audi. Never again.

Just bought this car exact model and trim - love it so far!
Gonna mod it? I think the body shape makes it a perfect candidate for a matte wrap.

@@WD.909you’d be correct, wrapped mine matte black
S5 might be my next car
You should. I picked up a 2023 S5 Sport back four weeks ago. Love it, traded my TTRS in for this. Much more practical
Not a fan of touch screen .So I still use the knob .great review ,next time do one with the sound of the stereo.
I have the same car, but a 2019. Best daily I've ever owned.
Awesome car. coupe is sporty while Sportback is a family car.
Nice review. Likewise, I appreciate the S5 for it’s overall balance of sport and comfort…however, my preference is the sportback vs the coupe.
Great review I love my Turbo blue coupe , FYI you can also open the trunk with your foot , just by kicking under the bumper on the right side
👍
I disagree about the screen. I LOVE the screen size and placement. Finally Audi nailed it
It is ages behind BMW.

Thanks for watching
How do you compare driving experience between S5 and base 911?
Chrobos grey? Nardi grey? Quantum grey?
Cheers mate 😎 👌
Great review!! Thank you.. Could you please tell me what color this car is? Appreciate it
I believe it's called chronos gray

doesnt the car have ambient lighting in the interior?

The sportback looks retarded imo
I have my eye on a M240i xdrive but was curious about how it would compare to this car?
The new M240 is much sportier. What characteristics were you looking to compare between the two?
@@DriveSteady Good to know the bimmer is more sporty. How about as a daily driver on bumpy/bad roads? Is there a big difference in ride quality between the two?
Not a huge difference but the Audi does ride a little better.
How do you compare driving experience of s5 vs base 911?
Different. 911 rides like a sports car and is firm. S5 rides much more comfortably
Nicely done
Appreciate it, thanks for watching
in Time stamp 11:34 of the video the back of the driver's seat headrest has a forward and backward arrow switch? What does that do?
It moves the seat forward and backward electronically
“Infamous Quattro” from Audi? You do realize “infamous” means having a bad reputation, right?
only a dumb idiot can think quattro have a bad reputation
Great review-but exactly what is the color called? Thanks
I believe it's called Suzuka grey
Quantum Grey
Am I the only one who thinks that sportback looks actually better? I've only driven A5 45 TFSI so far, but damm, it drives well.
