Wow that’s a clean one for the age it looks great ,older sports bikes just offer so much bang for the buck , merry Christmas and ride safe 👍
Many thanks, yep all the best for the festive season. Should be a lot more content coming next year, got a few bits planned in the next few weeks already. Thanks again. 👍
This machine is worth breath taken ❤ looking forward for more updates on this 😊
HONDA FOREVER!
One of the few bikes I haven’t owned!!! Want to get one soon.
what in the actual heaven this thing is just wholesome a complete hardcore old school superbike im really thankfull to youtube reccomendation for this video lovely bike bro i cant describe my love for cbr's once again it was a "w" decision to get this beast and yep u gained a sub +1, ;) i ll wait for ride videos!
…much appreciated, welcome aboard. There’s a riding video just a couple back from this one on my channel. Perhaps not the best camera angle (forgot to set the horizon lock…) you’ll get an idea of how it sounds though. Many thanks again. 👍
Thank you for doing an in-depth review of motorcycle versus everyone else getting on a race and talking about as they drive down the road
No worries, glad you enjoyed the video. Lots more upcoming on this fine machine. Thanks again 👍
I love it, mine has a Repsol "dress"... 🙂🤘
Iv got a original full exhaust system for rr4 rr5 if your interested and also glad your keeping the bike there great Iv had mine from new 2004
…much appreciated. Yep, great machines. Many thanks for the offer, but I’ll stick with the Arrow system, not to everyone’s taste I get that. I have db killers as well so it’s ok for track days etc. Many thanks though 👍
Hi I’ve got a 954 , it’s a great bike as was my old RRP. I’d definitely like to own the RR5 out one day
Perfect. The 954 is just about the near perfect road/sports bike. The much misunderstood 929 isn’t far behind. I had a RRX as well, still as far as I’m concerned the last word in carb fed fuelling. The 1000’s are picking up in value, so be quick if you want one 😂👍
@@headrace4863 I’ve already got a 5 bike collection ,I’d have to swap the 954. But I’m worried I’d regret the decision lol
@@Rapidfireblade 954 is arguably a more suitable road-bike, “better” will always be subjective.. the 1000’s are a step change in direction and largely away from the road focus. If that’s good or bad is a separate question… either way, enjoy!!
only thing i can say is i appreciate a nice looking bike and you certainly have one there very nice
Much appreciated 👍👍
I have a 2005 Honda cbr1000rr repsol that looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Never plan on parting with it if I can help it they are awesome machines.
@@slingnstixscrappiefishing8859 awesome. Yep, these “gen-1” 1000’s are really something aren’t they. Enjoy! 👍👍
I have a 2003 era Honda sports bike. I actually love the spongy, less deadly feel of the rear brake. Stops me accidentally leaping on it and locking up the rear. I can still get stopping power out of it, but it feels safer to me than something more focused.
Fair point… 👍 for fine adjustments when cornering it’s definitely controlled.
Get rid of that silly exhaust. It’s Pointless loud and ruins the beautifully smooth linear power.
Sell it and put the original stainless and titanium one back on.
If you want to waken it up , put race gearing on it. Honda fitted lazy road going to work gearing they always do. You can still ride like a girl just go up a gear.
Honda HRC really knew what they were doing with the original exhaust I rode quite a few with expensive aftermarket flat bottom and midrange droning ear splitting exhaust and apart from being noisy slow and unresponsive they don’t even look or feel or fit has good.
Also I’d do some reading about the spec and design and how much HRC was involved in this design and build.
I’ve owned a lot of newer blades. They come,
they disappoint and they go again. Ive owned 3 RR5’s all from new and still have a repsol in the workshop with a few hundred miles on the clock. I’ve just sold all my Ducati’s don’t think I’ll ever buy another.
My first Ducati was a sp3 888. The list after that would take a wile all sp or sps’s.
The blade is a superior bike than the lot of them put together.
Your model is faster 0/60. Faster quarter mile and higher torque than a new one. Or at least it was before the arrow drain pipe was fitted. Yours is a lovely example if your not going change the exhaust at least. Try riding an original cbr1000rr5. And remember any upgrades on the RR6/7. Fit your bike. But you won’t find a better bike for any amount of money. Ducati and BMW copied the that. And couldn’t not win every class of racing I’ve owned RC30’s and 45’s the blade is the evolution of all Honda racing. Honda went backwards for years after this bike. Ask John McGuinness are they any good. Check a 2004 RCV2 see how much of the bike has more than a passing resemblance. You’d be surprised how many people involved in racing have a 4/5/6/7 blade sat in there garage at home. In my opinion it’s the best all around race/ road superbike ever made. Can’t honestly think of anything that even comes close.
Hey just saying.
Exhaust(s) isn’t to everyone’s taste, I get that. It does sound fantastic, however. As it’s the full system, and it’s been set to run it, it fuels perfectly. It’ll pull down to tickover in any gear and without fault all the way through. No pops or bangs on the overrun and it’s returning good mpg as well. Thanks for watching 👍
@@headrace4863
I have to disagree. But that’s okay don’t you think.
I watched your riding video
It was exactly has I expected surging hunting then you back off because of the noise. Hey if that’s your thing, it’s your thing.
But it doesn’t make it right.
I prefer smooth and quick.
And it’s not has flat has I expected. But it it’s Harsh at best. If you ever ride a good one you’ll have a eureka moment.
But if you like burbling build up. Then shutting off before you’ve got going. Well it’s bang on. But you should at least try a standard one. Just to compare. Good luck finding one. And yes I did enjoy your videos. Bang on you take care. Apparently motorcycles are a bit dangerous. How do you find all these lower speed limits on the blade. Super bikes don’t do 20mph. Your bike reminds of an old GSX1100H 1985.
Ha ha. Happy new year.
@@davemonday5381 lower speed limits aren’t such a problem, 1st & 2nd cover up to 30 with ease.
It's a lovely bike mate, good choice on deciding to keep it. Can't answer the sight glass question - your guess is as good as mine! It's an interesting little detail though.
Hi Tom, thanks mate. Yep, it's full of really nerdy little details that, if you're as big a nerd as me, are quite fascinating. It's surprising that they were so cheap when new. I guess it was a 'sell a huge amount at a small profit' aim from Honda. The major plus for us is there's a never ending supply of cheap genuine parts abound if needed. As for reliability, the only known fault with these is the stator goes, as it has on this one at some point. Plenty of kits about for around £110ish. Apart from that, they're bulletproof.
@@headrace4863 With you on the nerd front! Is that exhaust system the same when it's stock? It's such an unusual design, never seen one like that before with one under the tail and one to the side. Oh, and I thought you'd like to know about the ZZR - I replaced the plugs, air filter, fuel filter, oil and filter, sprayed some carb cleaner and blasted some air through the carb jets, and charged the battery and now it's running great again. I noticed some oil on the plugs so I'm not sure if that's the piston rings or the plug tube seals, but I'll get round to changing the seals in the new year just as a first stage of elimination. Doesn't seem like a hard job. Cheers!
@@thomascharnock the ‘blade has a full Arrow MotoGP replica 4-1-2 spring mount system. Very rare… Normally the single silencer exits under the tail. That’s great news about the ZZ-R. The ‘plugs probably burned up because of the hard-starting/rich running due to the snow-foam. They just detonate to hell once they’re soaked in fuel. With ‘carbs it’s a case of being very careful with additives. Modern fuels are so full of agents anyway, the need for reddex etc is void largely. All the fuel lines & any old ‘o’ rings may have have reacted badly to the seafoam and clogged up the jets/drain screws etc. Really pleased you got it sorted, nice work mate. We’ll have to do a joint video or something in the new year maybe?
@@headrace4863 I could see where you had done so much great work when tearing the ZZR apart - copper grease on every screw...a quality job! To be honest I'm actually glad it started playing up, encouraged me to learn about how carbs work and overcome my fear of messing with them. They're not as scary as I thought when you take your time :) I would absolutely love to do something like a joint video mate, well up for that!
@@thomascharnock great! We’ll set something up. 👍
that exhaust ! beauttifull !!
Don’t see too many of the MoroGP replica full system about… nice bit of kit. Many thanks 👍
Still looks amazing.
Agreed…. Ageing well aren’t they. 👍👍
good decision i love mine ,👍
Much appreciated. Great machines, I’ve had a RRX ‘blade when they first came out as well. The 929 was also a great version. But, the ‘clean sheet’ 1000 models are certainly a generation forwards. And, everything is so cheap for them, if any parts are needed. 👍
Why do you have 2 exhusts side and mid exhaust on this 😂
Arrow full moto-gp 4-2 system. 👍
@@headrace4863 good but then you must remove the stock exhaust
@@mirzasaj Correct. O2 sensor removal and cables for the exhaust valve motor, or removal of the unit and install an eliminator.
@@headrace4863 bro its easy to do that i had cbr 1000 2007 model in the past same bike with ungraded engine and newer fairing i used that bike for 10 years and its super amazing wish i never sold it
@@mirzasaj …yep, great ‘bikes. Very raw. No complexity of the modern machines. 👍
