It was a pleasure following your trek. Thank you for displaying a relationship that most dream about to walk through life. You are blessed and you blessed my heart as well.
The feral comment early on 😂. The welcome home gifts. So excited you’re settling in VA! You’re close to the AT 🎉. You will make the best trail angels now ❤. Look up Homer. He and his wife are notorious for giving back. You two had the most wonderful time on trail and enlightened us at home. We so appreciate the time it took and all the advice. Live life to the fullest. ❤
I’m so stoked that this was a “not goodbye “ video. I know I’ve typed it before, but you two were instrumental in getting me thru some rehab days. Hiking has always been a part of my life, but learning how to walk again was tough at times. I’d watch your videos and remember how important being out there was. You brought a smile on days I wanted to cry. It pushed me forward….I’m mushy… sorry!! You are going to be about 45 mins south of me and I’ll be on the Angel list as well… so I’m sure I’ll hear how you’re doing from the hikers you may have helped in the future. Congrats again… and Thank you. Sorry for the mush!!! Take care of yourselves!!✌️🙂❤️
I am so proud of you. There are no words to describe how much you mean to the AT community. Thanks for taking us along your journey and imparting your wisdom. We are cheering you on your next adventures wherever it may take you. Wishing you all the love, joy and happiness in this next exciting chapter of life. Keep shining bright.
Aw, this one made me cry! I'm going to miss you guys! I'll keep checking back for your next adventure, whenever that may be. Congratulations on the house, and good luck with the move. Thanks for showing us the cats!!! That should be a requirement for every thru-hiker to show their reunion with their pets when they get home. Love it! Take care guys. I wish you all the best and all the good things!
I can't tell you how absolutely excited i was to see a video from you 2 this morning! I can't wait for your post trail gear video. Can't wait to see where Your next adventures take you. Congrats on your new home And I hope you guys post periodically about Your lives Especially anything trail related! Going to miss your morning videos!!
My thoughts exactly! I enjoyed having coffee every morning and watching their amazing journey! We actually want to hike the trail but are not sure how much will still be closed when we finally get a chance to get out there due to Hurricane Helene. Now we are researching the PCT just in case.
Loved the update. It takes a village to take on such an epic adventure. I'm so glad you found a house and area you're excited about. It's such a great area, too. Welcome back, and best wishes to a loving, fun, and successful life together in VA. Thank you both so much for all the time you put into the videos and share with a stranger. I loved following along.
During my Katahdin peaking, I stayed at the Katahdin Inn & Suites in Millinocket. Not great. But gave me the rest I needed. I did that in June. Still feeling it mentally. I was alone. Despite my descending debacle, I was driving back to Long Island at 2 AM. No time to decompress. Nice to see you had a relaxing post hike. Thanks for sharing your togetherness. Cheers to that. Best wishes in your new home. Wishing you good fortune and happiness in your life’s journey together. It’s the journey you share with someone you love that makes a difference. Happy Trails!
Never lose that feraltude. Guess you’ll never have the Virginia Blues either. Congrats of all of it. You guys are so fun! Best of luck for everything coming your way.
I'm so reluctant to watch this video! I know, once I do, it means the Heather and Chuck thru hike is over! And I know it is, of course, but NOOOOOOO! I'll miss you guys so much! Again, well done, both of you. Please try to avoid the post trail sadness which, it sounds like you will with your new endeavors, and just...I love you guys.❤
Thank you so much for launching your channel and sharing your hike. You are both so inspiring and such a joy to watch. Enjoy VA and all it has to offer. Best wishes!
I cannot thank you two enough for allowing us to follow you on your journey. Congratulations ! I love Roanoke and come often, as my brother lives in a house downtown. Hopefully, I’ll run into you sometime! Take care !
Awe 😍 Yay! I was excited and happy and proud of you both for summating. Also sad that your videos were over. You have no idea the joy seeing a new post! My mom had a stroke yesterday and im sleeping on the floor of my parents condo as my dad has dementia. Plus moving them to my home. It’s been a sad and hard could have days. Seeing the 2 of you truly brightened it up ❤
So glad that you guys put up this wrap up video and for sharing your current and future plans. I appreciate hearing your thoughts and look forward to the post trail gear video. I agree with Heather, gear videos have been super helpful to me as well, and your pre trail gear videos is where I first saw you guys. Congrats on the new home in Virginia ... how exciting that you have selected Roanoke and that you will be close enough to the trail to be able to contribute to it as you see fit. I hope to be passing your way in April next year on my journey North and I would love to say hey if possible. Take care and good luck with all your future endeavors...
Thanks for the update! Yay, Roanoke!! Great place to live. I'm way down the road in far SWVA. 😊 I can definitely see you getting involved with maintenance and trail magic, etc. Great advice too!! Thank you for sharing your adventure. I enjoyed following along. 😊
Exciting times, new house, new adventures, It was great to watch you guys make it to Katahdin. I always like the post trail videos, so much to reflect on, you'll see. Take care of each other.
Congratulations on finishing the trail!Thank you guys for such great entertainment for the last six months. I hope to see update videos every once in a while. 🎉
Great job guys!! Super proud of both of you. I didn't always comment but I always watched. Your videos had a lot to do with my decision to attempt my thru hike of the AT 2026. Thanks again for taking the time to make all the videos and sharing your journey. Simper Fi!!
Thanks so much for doing this video! It's great to see more of your adventure, your new house!, your cats (I'm impressed that they gave you the time of day- sort of!) and your advice. I was thinking about your HYOH advice, Heather, and think that it can be extrapolated to regular life. For instance, if you don't want to deal with makeup anymore.... don't! LYOL (Live Your Own Life) 😄😄 That is my advice straight from the couch! 🤣 Thank you for letting me tag along. I'm excited to see your gear video! I hope your transition to regular life is going well. Good luck with the move, new jobs, etc!
Congratulations on the new house. Great location in Virginia. I love the advice you gave for future thru hikers, really informative. Good luck to you both!!
Thanks for sharing your journey. Like so many others have said, Ill miss your videos along with my coffee in the morning. Best of luck with the new house and everythign to come. If you ever find your way to upstate NY, drop me a line. Ill introduce you to the real world hiker trash food, the infamous Garbage Plate.

Welcome to this part of VA. I see y'all weren't kidding when you were zero's in Roanoke about how much you liked it there. Again, congratulations on completing your hike and thanks again for sharing it. Hope to cross paths again, maybe the next time we'll have time to actually talk.
Until he started talking, I wasn't sure who was sitting next to Heather. But genius that I am, I figured it out all by myself! You put a ball cap and semi shaved beard, and it can make people look really different. I loved following you guys all the way, and I'm so glad you were able to finish what you started. And as a fellow Virginian, welcome. I've been here since 1968 and think it's a pretty great place. And you need to add fires to the PCT dilemma, though I guess you can't really plan for that. Looking forward to your gear video because I still dream of hiking the AT, though realistically I probably never will. Again, congrats and thanks for taking me along!
Nice video. I believe that post trail depression is similar to the yuck feeling after a deployment. Forget the makeup. My wife only wore makeup for our wedding and never again. She didn't need it and you don't need it. She was LSU '74. Life was simple on trail, take some of that freedom back to the real world with you. Watch Restless Kiwi's videos from her PCT in 2019. When you do trail magic bring a couple of trekking poles. When I did it, I replaced 3 broken poles. Enjoy life. Good Luck, Rick
SO many wonderful things going on for you two!! I'm happy you're home! AND congratulations on buying a house in Roanoke Virginia, that's awesome!!! Such a pretty area. We travel through there on our way to N. Carolina and cross the AT in a few places. Secondly, I'm really happy to hear you're going to keep the channel open for the possibility of more hiking videos!! YAY!!!
Great to see you this morning! Hope to run into you guys next year on my trek north😊 Congrats on the exciting life things and I look forward to your gear video!!!! Welcome Home!
Thanks for sharing the journey home that was really fun. Congrats on the new home in VA. I think you’ll love it there.
