Omg its so crazy to hear you say this!! I have PCOS and I lost 50lbs doing 12 hour intermittent fasting everyday with a slight caloric deficit. And it worked so well! And its crazy because anything over 12hrs didnt feel right...I would get anxious and far too hungry and it just wasnt for me. But 12 always felt perfect! And this is just something I ended up doing organically, through trial and error. But 12 was definitely the magic number!! Crazy!! 😲😲😲😍😍😍

I sometimes prolong fast but I do it the way Dr. Mindy Pelz says to do it. It’s about where you’re at in your cycle. So right after bleeding up until your ovulation period you can open fast for as long as you want as long as you’re supplementing with vitamins and a BUNCH of water, teas, apple cider vinegar, etc. after that first 2 weeks, during your ovulatory period you can fast from 16-18 hours. In your luteal, do not fast longer than 12-13 hours because that impacts progesterone and progesterone is much more sensitive than estrogen. Your science on this is spot on! Keep it up! Love the channel 🫶🏻

Nice to know. The first time I started the intermittent fasting regime, i actually gained 10kgs. I thought I was the failure until I learnt to intermittent fast without a static schedule. Just go the longest possible time without eating based on how relaxed I am on this aspect. I noticed that the fast period varied a lot depending on the period of the month, the amount of fulfilling activity I am doing. I went as long as 3 days long once. Part of the reason it was more successful was the insurance that I would eat when I feel hungry enough, not when it is the exact time to break the fast based on the IF regime. It starts in the mind.

@@Recusant_ No. The only reason why I continued to lose weight is because I made healthier food choices. For instance, instead of eating cereal I ate eggs and avocados. If I craved sweets (which is my one weakness) I'd make my own peanut butter cups and muesli bars. Instead of coffee I'd have a nice tea. I also drank fruit water just by putting fruits or lemon in my water bottle. Everything I ate I also ate in moderation and had one serving of foods but good hearty foods that kept me fuller for longer. It really is mind over matter. A good tip is, meal prep and never leave home hungry 😁

To feel good fasting, you need to change from burning glucose to burning ketones. Otherwise you will feel fatigued and not great. If you are even slight ketosis….your body will be using ketones and you will no longer feel like crap when you fast. You have to first change your bodies fuel source. Fasting is likely hugely beneficial to PCOS. It’s highly beneficial for diabetes which is also a condition closely related to insulin issues. I’d try a modified keto diet with less cheese and dairy and lots of cruciferous veggies. The cycle on and off with intermittent fasting. Or just do a two-3 day fast every month….but I think that’s harder especially for a beginner.

A doctor tried to tell me I don’t have pcos because I don’t have cysts. This may be a funny question but I have so many symptoms of pcos. Is it out the question?

Check for sex hormone imbalances, you might be on your way to developing PCOS or have another problem going on

    Love your videos.
Tip: choose your background music wisely. I had to watch it and turn down the volume to be able to read because I could not understand a word thing you were saying. ❤️🙏🏼

As someone who’s intermittent fasted for pcos weight loss and then for maintaining I’d say you can do it for up to 16 hrs, so you’d eating between 1-9 for lunch and dinner. If it’s hard then push lunch back to 12 and dinner to 8.
