I use kingsoft/WPS, its free and it uses file types that are compatible, meaning, when you send a file to someone else, they will have no problem opening the file/viewing the file. Is this free to people, because you have an online Microsoft account/the way Microsoft gets paid/compensated, is by tracking you/ creating an in depth profile, of what you buy online, where you go online/how you use your computer, what you type, and so on, in which they can sell that information, or create products that are marketed/created around the data they've collected from you/people? I have a local account/I dont have an online microsoft account. I turned basically everything off, in the privacy settings, on my version of windows 10, I also have a firewall that runs along side windows firewall, that's specifically designed to prevent windows from doing questionable things, using bandwith, sending certain information back to certain servers, I also immunize my systems, with spybot, I also use a VPN, I also use things like HTTPS everywhere, that makes sure that every website visited has HTTPS to, I also use things like privacy badger/ghostery, SSL/SSHC, I've also disable allot of services as well, I also ripped out/deleted the diagtrack service along with dmwappushservice, just to list/go over a couple things I've done, security wise, it is getting bad, now that you have to protect, even more, against, your own OS/Operating System. I dual boot windows 10 and Manjaro linux, but windows is still needed for allot of things/its still the most used OS, I like windows 10 as a whole, and after you put security measures in place, but out of the box/a fresh download of windows 10, is not great. Good video though, for those that don't care about all of this, no offense/this is not meant to be a hateful comment, also I don't use adblockers on youtube, unless someone decides to put 10/30ads in a video. Are you kidding me?! This gives you a pretty full featured experience for free and it's LEGAL! This has everything the average person would need. Even better, impoverished people just need a connection to the internet and they have capabilities they've never had before. But, sorry this impressive online service isn't good enough for you. I 've used some of the Microsoft products since the first DOS product and experimented with the first published version of Windows. While I can't say that Microsoft has always provided the best value for me, its progress has been great, and this access to the app is very convenient....much more convenient and useful than a Chinese clone that I used for a while, and trades a couple of nuisances found in Libre Office for different ones in Office 365.

If you want "How to Use the desktop fully-featured version of Microsoft Office in 2019" you'll need to go to Office.com and click on Get Office. You can then buy a subscription or purchase a one-time license. For using Office for free, this is the only legal option available. Hope that helps.

@@paulwagner5696 here's something I've done and it's helped me. log into your Google drive and you should see an option that let's you created documents (it has the Microsoft office interface) then you just save the docs right in your drive and you can access them on multiple devices
U saved my life man. The online method works for me and it's sad that many people misunderstood the purpose of this video... This video is supposed for people that have ended their subscription of their Microsoft office. By doing what this kind person showed us in this video, we can still use the Microsoft apps online even though our subscription has ended. And when the subscription ends, we are not supposed to be able to make any editing or amendments to the files that we have on our computer through offline. Krykies!! You are a lifesaver! lol All I wanted to do was type up a few pages of notes and that’s it. I don’t need excell or power point or anything else and since I remember the days when office came pre installed on every pc and laptop I get really frustrated and angry when I’m now told I need to 1: pay for office 365 and 2: I’ll have to pay again in a year. I guess that’s why it’s called Microsoft 365. I much prefer the old days when A: it was already on your computer or B: you purchased a cd-rom with office on it and a Key to activate it. But you only paid once and as long as you didn’t lose the cd-rom and the key you could use office for as long as your computer kept working but if it died and you bought a new laptop you could just pop the cd in and type in the key and install it on your new laptop or pc and keep going as long as Microsoft continued to support your version of windows. It sounds complicated but it wasn’t really. Pop in cd-rom with office on it follow the prompts, enter the key and Bam! You were up and running. WOOHOO!!!

I have been tracking my weight-loss as well as my money saving things on an Excel Sheet (I know there are specific apps and things for that, it's just nice to see it and update it daily on an Excel Sheet...and it has been working). I thought I had lost all my progress I have made so far this year and it was actually kind of upsetting me. I, too, have a paid license to Office, but it is on a slowly dying computer, a Lenovo that has a weak hinge design and frequently loses its fingerprint reader function for signing in. This utility allows me to procrastinate about the nuisance of formally transferring my license to my HP desktop.
Nice tutorial - however, all files must be stored on the cloud; downloading a file to your PC is fine for viewing but you can't edit the file - to edit the file, you must upload it to the cloud; I call this the cloud's ping-pong game - have fun!

@@marcoantoniomirandar don't ever use a free vpn, its slow and not secure enough..plus they use ur data, well all these use ur data, vivaldi is better, but only on pc, so i'm stuck with opera, cause i sync everything so i don't have to remember what i did on another machine, also opera mobile has the best browsing experience on tablets, cause it has the best desktop mode and no matter the mode u can browse youtube in darkmode, other browsers can't do that, also it has the flow feature that is useful, if they only added extentions and flow to the regular android browser it would be perfect

THIS. I have finished a Powerpoint I am trying to export as a video on my work laptop, and I've been having issues. I was told to try another device. I decided to try my desktop as it is much better. To note, I do not have Powerpoint installed on my desktop, only the laptop. I used this method to access the Powerpoint, but it is useless. This "free" version isn't the same, because all my animations, transitions and timings have been completely altered. :(

could of just got softmaker office free that is made by a ms gold certified software partner and its free and its 100 percent compatible with ms office and is available on linux and you can install it on 5 pcs for nothing but sure money saver

Thanks for sharing this. I tried it and voila, it works just as you said. Cool! Hope the background music feature for power point gets added soon though. And more font choices! I guess you get what you don't pay for. I really am very pleased to get any level of Microsoft product for free (and legit free). Sign in with your school account instead of your personal account. Many schools have agreements with MICROSOFT where you can get the offline apps for free.
As. An add-on, I’m thoroughly disappointed with this system, especially for a MAC! It not only underperformed in PowerPoint, but had enough glitches and errors to never allow the transition to a “stick” that I could use in various classroom situations. The functions in other suites, such as WORD, and EXcel, produce the same results. I’m downloading it as we speak.

To quote someone: "If a product or service says it's free, well then You are the product". It would be exceptionally counter productive to create a Microsoft account if You use Linux, as with Linux You can be free of Microsft 10 spying, so it would totally negate that.
Well, if someone actually bothered to go through the effort of replacing their Windows install with some variant of Linux, then I don't see why they cannot install something like LibreOffice, or something similar to replace Microsoft Office with.
@@damian9303 Of course they could. Even on a Windows machine You can run OpenOffice to replace Microsoft Office. Works very well. Replacing PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator and Premiere Pro is a bit harder though unfortionetly. Especially on a professional level. It's either Mac or Windows for that, again unfortionetly, as i do not like Windows 10 at all due to the lack of privacy. Yes there are other programs, but none of them have all the functionality of Adobes. For Premiere Pro I guess there are more options, but for PhotoShop the options feels very much like 2nd rate versions. Gaming is still also an issue, although more and more games and engines now finally starts adding support for Linux as well. Running Windows emulator on Linux kind of defeates the purpose if don't want anything to with windows on Your machine. If run Linux one mostly wants a totally windows free PC. Not even wanting to run Windows in a virtual machine.

actng there is 2 apps that come with windows 10 one that says office and and one that says ms office, click the one that says just (office) if you don't have that go to ms office.com then go to chrome tools and click make a short cut, it will appear on your desktop.
This is very great innovation. I tried it and i founs the tools and interface worked excellently. How ever i noticed the Ink equation tool was missing. Something I usually use for work. Or maybe I couldn't locate it.

The real difference is that you get to use all the functions of word and so on, which aren't available if you haven't activated the Offline version.

I, too, have a paid license to Office, but it is on a slowly dying computer, a Lenovo that has a weak hinge design and frequently loses its fingerprint reader function for signing in. This utility allows me to procrastinate about the nuisance of formally transferring my license to my HP desktop.

Nice tutorial - however, all files must be stored on the cloud; downloading a file to your PC is fine for viewing but you can't edit the file - to edit the file, you must upload it to the cloud; I call this the cloud's ping-pong game - have fun!

What the title SHOULD say is how to “use” Office for free not “get” Office for free. WORDS MATTER GENIUS.
dude. Certain words are subject to a different interpretation. "Get" is to succeed in attaining, achieving, or experiencing which he does actually do. Stop taking it so literally. Everyone knows that without payment of some sort you weren't actually going to "get" the offline version of the apps. Microsft would go broke if you could get the products for free offline.

@@marcoantoniomirandar don't ever use a free vpn, its slow and not secure enough..plus they use ur data, well all these use ur data, vivaldi is better, but only on pc, so i'm stuck with opera, cause i sync everything so i don't have to remember what i did on another machine, also opera mobile has the best browsing experience on tablets, cause it has the best desktop mode and no matter the mode u can browse youtube in darkmode, other browsers can't do that, also it has the flow feature that is useful, if they only added extentions and flow to the regular android browser it would be perfect

kind of cool for making files from scratch, but when you upload files that you want to edit it just doesn't do the job.
THIS. I have finished a Powerpoint I am trying to export as a video on my work laptop, and I've been having issues. I was told to try another device. I decided to try my desktop as it is much better. To note, I do not have Powerpoint installed on my desktop, only the laptop. I used this method to access the Powerpoint, but it is useless. This "free" version isn't the same, because all my animations, transitions and timings have been completely altered. :(

could of just got softmaker office free that is made by a ms gold certified software partner and its free and its 100 percent compatible with ms office and is available on linux and you can install it on 5 pcs for nothing but sure money saver

Thanks for sharing this. I tried it and voila, it works just as you said. Cool! Hope the background music feature for power point gets added soon though. And more font choices! I guess you get what you don't pay for. I really am very pleased to get any level of Microsoft product for free (and legit free). Its just that I'm a power user so frustration sets in pretty fast over lack of certain features.

Sign in with your school account instead of your personal account. Many schools have agreements with MICROSOFT where you can get the offline apps for free.

Not the best solution, but you can type into wordpad while offline and then paste into your Word doc once you're back online.

As. An add-on, I’m thoroughly disappointed with this system, especially for a MAC! It not only underperformed in PowerPoint, but had enough glitches and errors to never allow the transition to a “stick” that I could use in various classroom situations. The functions in other suites, such as WORD, and EXcel, produce the same results. I’m downloading it as we speak.

It would be exceptionally counter productive to create a Microsoft account if You use Linux, as with Linux You can be free of Microsft 10 spying, so it would totally negate that.
Well, if someone actually bothered to go through the effort of replacing their Windows install with some variant of Linux, then I don't see why they cannot install something like LibreOffice, or something similar to replace Microsoft Office with.
@@damian9303 Of course they could. Even on a Windows machine You can run OpenOffice to replace Microsoft Office. Works very well. Replacing PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator and Premiere Pro is a bit harder though unfortionetly. Especially on a professional level. It's either Mac or Windows for that, again unfortionetly, as i do not like Windows 10 at all due to the lack of privacy.
Yes there are other programs, but none of them have all the functionality of Adobes. For Premiere Pro I guess there are more options, but for PhotoShop the options feels very much like 2nd rate versions.
Gaming is still also an issue, although more and more games and engines now finally starts adding support for Linux as well. Running Windows emulator on Linux kind of defeates the purpose if don't want anything to with windows on Your machine. If run Linux one mostly wants a totally windows free PC. Not even wanting to run Windows in a virtual machine.

actng there is 2 apps that come with windows 10 one that says office and and one that says ms office, click the one that says just (office) if you don't have that go to ms office.com then go to chrome tools and click make a short cut, it will appear on your desktop.
