- In today’s video, Caleb will give us a tour of his self converted school bus. It took him 6 months of full-time work and he spent 10’000 USD on this build. $3k costed the bus and $7k he invested in the materials. Our most favorite feature is the skylight and keyboard desk/ table.

This i been looking at so many builds both skoolies and vand and this is the 2nd one that has their shower and toilet in the back and idk if id want it any other way
This is one of the nicest conversions I’ve seen! He even installed a decent size hanging closet! Beautiful job!
My favorite part are the hanging jars that just screw in and the lights make it look so warm. Incredible design and use of space! Well done.
Nice job! Its great you did it on a $10,000 budget. I see businesses that convert buses & their conversions start at $35k which is a lot of $$$ for me.

You get design skills it looks Homie comfortable practical and not cluttered
He didn't mention anything about his electrical... Solar panels or batteries.. other than that this is one of the nicest bus conversion that I've seen 👍👍

A-MAZING!!! So many ingenious ideas: the pull-out keyboard; the separate hot water for under the sink; the back bathroom; and, the absolute most ingenious idea of using a utility trailer for a roof deck! Interior design is your UNDERGRAD? Dude, I think you found your calling. Would hire you on the spot to design & convert my skoolie if I had one. All this for 10K total... Just amazing.

this was by far one of the most impressive builds i’ve seen, from functionality to aesthetics to budget down to every tiny detail ! i’ve seen so many builds couldnt even achieve half of what he did w/ much larger budgets

I love that you have the ability to set up a hammock.
That is one of the best layouts I have seen. I really like having the bath in the very back with the door to open and let out the moisture and .... odors. Kitchen if front is great too. Well done.
You did such a great job on this beautiful bus house and very simple and balanced lay out, Love your sky light idea and you put bathroom and toilet by the end of the bus which is the best idea so far as interior design, very smart, creative, down to earth and comfortable. Love the design, style and it embodìes your character. Appreciate multiple purposed mason jars for lights, drinking glasses and storage -- plan to implement in my space. Cool having the side door serve as in & out use for your 🐶. Interior design combines nicely with the skills of an Architect. Excited to see more projects.

Best build ever. Everyone builds the buses living area in the front with the intention of entertaining other people and yeah I hate that lol. But you added the sitting area in the bedroom 👍🏾 and the 7 foot closet space?! Perfect!
I have a mini skoolie and was wondering where you got the tow package for yours. The trailer roof deck is genius! Love the black cabinets too. I just love this entire build!! Good luck on future endeavors! You may want to consider skoolie building.
This is the best bus conversation I think I have seen. He has very good taste. The layout is perfect. I like the placement of the living space. I don’t care for the sofa across from the kitchen. His placement makes it separate. It space has its own space. I love all of the bus. He made it a home.

If you want to add a wood stove, you could put it where you have a chair , the one that is opposite to the couch. This area of the bus is already so cozy and welcoming that if you need some heating it would create a nice atmosphere. This layout is my favorite, this space at the back is like a humongous living room , entertainment area to chat, laugh, sing and listen to music, or poetry. I kinda like the bump, the wheel well on the side of the bed, it creates another seating option when you have friends over.

Really like your design esthetic. I personally, would have put the bathroom closer to the kitchen & utilized the on-demand water heater. Also, made the fresh water a 100 gal. tank. Being a lady I need longer showers. 😆

Really nice build! I bet you learned stuff doing it that you never heard about in school. Interesting you chose to learn interior design also. I think recycled/repurposed materials are so much better. Lends character to your build, keeps stuff from being thrown away that still has life in it. I love the mason jar light idea. That’s so cool & I’ve never seen it done before. Jars could be painted to match what you’re doing. Clever. Will you ever consider solar? I didn’t hear anything about batteries, stuff like that (sorry,,,late night, ice pak on the knee. Probably missed, didn’t hear about how it was insulated either) Also love the big closet. You know people sre going crazy for skoolies right now. Maybe you could start your own business for people who want one but have no desire to do the work, can’t do that type of thing, maybe can help with the build but zero technology skills. There are companies out there who offer a few levels of options. 1) You do all the work=more green backs for you.
2) They don’t want to gut or figure out where stuff goes. But will get stuff to go in the space, paint, tile, whatever. 3) that would be up to you and the customer. Just exactly how fast do they want it? What are they willing to spend? Would they be willing to get in and work? I am not able to do the stuff it takes to gut a bus, and wouldn’t have a clue how to lay stuff out for maximum use of space. Would love solar power and lithium batteries...a techno dork here! I think the business is still close enough to the ground floor that you could squeeze in and make a place for yourself. Also people are interested in using smaller busses for easier parking, handling, some of which might be women (no slam against women, there are plenty out there stretching their wings and just doing it. I applaud but am not one of them.) Families with kids are waking up to new ideas about how they want to raise their children or they are displaced for a multitude of reasons/ find themselves considering the (not so) tiny bus life. They are putting 2-3 bunks (maybe more) in the bus and off they go! Maybe not something to do forever but hey, be fun to do for a while! Or not! The gist of this long comment is that your new home looks great & I hope you enjoy it, have some great travels for years to come. Congratulations 🍾🎈🎉🎊!!
