"If only this scene was good, this movie would be SO good!"
Tim, on every scene
He more said 90% of this scene was great with 10% really falling short which is a sign of a movie at odds with its own good ideas
@@JoshMarshain yeah, agreed. It's just a light ribbing at Tim, who I mostly agree with, BTW
This movie is so good in so many aspects that I'm just mad that it's not great.
Reminds me of their Rise of Skywalker review
“This is so cool if you don’t think about it!” -Tim on every plot element
Can’t believe we got shorted a half hour on this review, come on guys
Carboni with a top 10 anime betrayal
Carboni has just been such a treat during this re-watch!
Same! I wish they would bring him on more often now. My first time seeing or hearing him
I would like to see him on more In Reviews, even though he was the chose one and completely Top 10 Anime betrayed us with this 11th hour turn around on TASM2. :p
I guess I’m alone, I thought he was a bit obnoxious
Hes so good
I hope they have him as special guest for the MCU In Review when it comes to _No Way Home_
I love Carboni's commitment to the "Who the fuck is talking?!" ☠
Dude I laughed at it every single time
It was just as unfunny as the first time as it was the last time
I felt like berret was getting annoyed. I loved it tho hahahah
Anthony’s “who the fuck is talking” every time Barrett adds something made me laugh out loud every time.
It's hilarious LOL
These rewatches are just internet gold. Keep them coming guys.
Hope Parris can join the Matrix review with how much he loves it
I am dreading the Matrix rewatch lol
It's a must
💯 I’d love to have Gary on there as well with Nick’s recap
Spider-Man talking to Electro is one of my favorite scenes in all the Spider-Man movies.
He's never judgemental, he's constantly trying to keep Max calm, and he tries to connect with Max on a personal level. He says all the right things that a person should in that situation.
Made me realize that if Tobey Spidey had made the slightest attempts to talk to the villains in the Raimi films, that those conflicts would have been resolved very quickly - especially with Doc Ock and Sandman lol
Blessing is the voice of the people.
🐑
I gained so much respect for Carboni with his reveal. I've been doing rewatches on these movies as well and after finishing Amazing Spider-Man 2, I think it's easily my favorite non-MCU Spider-Man movie. I think this movie is definitely not perfect, but it's really fun and underappreciated. Andrew Garfield makes an awesome Spider-Man and has such real heart and emotion both in and out of the suit. Amazing Spider-Man 1 feels like a technically better movie, but drags a little more.
Conspiracy theory: Blessing didn’t want to be a party pooper so he bowed out
Paul Giamatti literally forgot he was in this movie. In an interview on the Chris Gethard show he said he was in Spider-Man 3
Blessing's order of the Spider-Man movies is the correct ranking
I'm totally with Blessing here. This movie was terrible from stem to stern. But I still really enjoy having Carboni on the show.
Blessing out here with the good takes
25:26 🎶 He's so damn Spidey 🎶

Nick is a treasure
Even if it’s a bit, I love that Carboni reacts negatively to Barrett every time, just like I do.
i couldnt put it into words until now. Andrew Garfield as spider-man, is the Matt smith doctor of spider men
I completely agree and I have no way to explain why.
It's wild watching everyone just be so wrong.
Shout outs Blessing.
Watching Tim roll his eyes through Blessings impressions of the movie was rough. I don't agree with any of these guys on this garbage movie. Between Greg and BvS and Tim with Amazing Spider-Man, I honestly don't think I can trust any of their opinions on anything anymore.
they have been killing me with these opinions for years, but i guess we all have booty opinions from time to time
Blessing coming in hard on this one. Exactly how I have always felt with these ASM films.
I've been dippping in and out of the rewatch stuff but Carboni's habit of dicussing cinematography and the DP is a great addition to in review. Maybe I just like the nerdy stuff as a filmmaker but it adds so much to the conversation.
This has been great and all, but next December I would pay cash money to see Kinda Funny Christmas In Review and just listen to plot breakdowns of classic Christmas movies. Christmas In Review, baby lets goooo!!!
Blessing don't let them gaslight you ASM2 is a trash fire. It feels like they just don't want to like the Rami trilogy so they're trying their hardest to uncover any positives, which there are some but it's vastly outweighed by the negatives
Also since it's many years since release people are forgetting just how bad the marketing for this movie was.
The Matrix and Spider-Man are my top franchises of all time. The fact that we’re getting BOTH next month AND KF is rewatching them is awesome.
Thank you Bless for the true ranking of these movies lol
That intro just keeps ascending in Easter Eggs, I love it lol
Watched the film today after listening to the pod on Spotify last night. Broke into tears 3 times, big feels. That's all :)
everytime Barret talks and anthony asks who's speaking got me EVERYTIME
I look forward to Tuesday mornings because of you guys! 😀
1:21:36 always thought the 14 year old kid thing was a reference to Uatu Jackson, a teen that works for Horizon Labs with Peter in the comics.
Thank you guys for bringing the laughs every time with these ❤️
Under 3 hours????? Crazy!!
Where’s Andy?
Proud of you blessing for fighting the good fight. Um Carboni how could you do this to me?
Carboni with that Ray J energy
Blessing is a real one for his take on this movie
I respect Tim's opinion but liking the Amazing Spider-Man movies more because they adapt Ultimate Spider-Man doesn't make them the better movies. Sam Raimi is so obviously the better director and looking at Spider-Man 2 the movies is on another level compared to every other Spider-Man movie. The cinematography, the shot selection, the warmth of the colors, it is so vibrant and there are so many memorable scenes in it. I love the chemistry between Andrew and Emma but almost every other thing lacks compared to the original Raimi's vision.
Okay boomer
@@DumDumDeathstar I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye.
See ya chump
what makes movie “better” is subjective here. he enjoys the take enough to enjoy these films better, but that doesn’t mean he is saying Webb is a better director than Raimi. no one at Kinda Funny is acting like their list is the objective list that all must follow lol, enjoy what you enjoy
Weird huh
Definitely agree with Blessing on everything he said and his ranking. A problem I had with this movie was the marketing of it. Sony literally showed all the main parts of this movie (opening scene, ending scene, & especially Gwen Stacy’s death) in all of their trailers. I just remember leaving the theater disappointed because there was no surprises and the execution of the plots & payoffs weren’t that good.
Far From Home just did the same. Let's see if you have the same grievances then.
That’s Sony marketing for you… Was really worried with No Way Home and Sony spoiling the entire movie, but I’m surprised and glad to see that they haven’t revealed Tobey and Andrew and Charlie Cox, or whatever other surprises we have in store. Goblin is supposedly the main villain, and we’ve barely seen him. I think Marvel is most likely to thank for that cause Sony notoriously shows way too much with their trailers
I’ll never forget the 3.5 minute super bowl trailer that was literally the beginning, middle, end, and even post-credit scene of the movie
@@8bitdee yeah i do have the same grievances! I’m praying since marvel is a part of it that Kevin Feige is putting his foot down to Sony and saving some surprises for the movie itself and not spoiling it all in the trailers. But sony does this with all their movies, even the venom ones.
only ever saw this movie once and that was when it came out in theaters. I remember being so hyped for it and being incredibly disappointed by it while watching. It is probably my worst cinema experience ever and it makes me feel crazy to hear 3 out of 4 of you say you love this movie... for the second time lol
Damn I had the opposite experience from you. I went in expecting to hate it and loved it. Aside from the Parent subplot and a few scenes here and there, it works so much for me. A lot of it comes down to it being far and away the best looking film action and CGI wise, while Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone continue to have brilliant chemistry. It's hard not to love them.
@@CrossOutBryce i'm glad you enjoyed it! I really liked the peter/gwen stuff but I felt like the movie was just all over the place, the cartoony bits really took me out of the movie constantly
The worst clearly CLEARLY you haven't seen King Kong from 2004
@@aaron-downey i'm only speaking about movies I've seen in theaters + I'm 24 now and when I watched King Kong 2004 as a 7 year old I actually loved it lmao
@@cenesm woo same 24 club high five
Blessing KILLED it
Holy shit that alternate ending sounds really dope. But yes the current ending was heartbreakingly amazing
Can't wait for the next 3 intros, but please release at the end all the Easter eggs
Every time Carboni says “Who the fuck is talking?” I loose my mind🤣🤣
Best of these reviews so far, wish I could like this video twice
Favorite day of the week let’s go! 🕷🕸
I am stunned by the positivity to this movie
Blessing absolutely nailed his list
So Garfield Spiderman is going to show up and save MCU MJ in that falling scene right?
Who the fuck is talking?
I really like the dubstep music in the time square fight
I was today years old when I first thought "ah man, this needs some good Andy"
We need Carboni in the No Way Home Review!
This one makes me so sad of what could have been. There’s a genuine great movie in here. I remember the entire theater sobbing with the Gwen scene. The cinematography and visuals are absolutely stunning in this movie.
If you guys haven’t seen the deleted alternate ending scene, I highly recommend it. Andrew Garfield is an absolutely fantastic actor, and I cannot wait to see him shine again as Spidey in just a few more weeks.
I saw that alternate ending, and that ending should have been the theatrical ending.
@@nicktiznado8492 100%. Would have at least been an interesting and fresh take for the franchise moving forward. And Andrew’s acting in that scene is next level and what I want more out of Spider-Man. It’s so incredibly human.
I really don’t see the ‘great’ movie in this? Electro is terrible from the off, the green goblins descent/plan is terrible as is Peter and Harry’s ‘relationship’. Peter and Gwen is the only redeeming factor if it was just a love story between those two then yeah but I don’t think that results in a great movie
@@taylorjack2130 I think the great movie lies somewhere with the relationships. The movie feels like they shot a rough draft of the script, with some great ideas but poor execution. I think everything with May is perfect, and Peter telling her she is enough is such a beautiful and heartwarming scene.
Captain Stacy haunting Peter works for me, as if Peter knows in his heart that breaking his promise and being with Gwen will only put her in danger.
I love the ending with the little boy that encapsulates the hope Spider-Man gives, and what he means to all of us. I love the message of grief and losing a loved one, and how we have to carry them with us moving forward.
There’s plenty of good stuff here, but there’s also plenty of bad stuff too.
Lol Sometimes it seems like Nick doesn’t know how to riff off Carboni and gets flustered, it’s the best. lol
Between this and PSILY I'm set for my work day. Thank you KF.
They should watch the Tony/Peter scene and Airport Fight from Civil War with Homecoming next week. What's that maybe 25 minutes?
40:45 - YES. Everybody knows all about "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" but at some point, we've gotta graduate to, "Obligation Precludes Compassion." At some point, there needs to be a better reason than, "Because I have to - it's my responsibility."
Nick is a comedic legend.
The video game tie in for this movie sold so poorly that it became rare on the secondary market. The price went up during the build up to Insomniac's Spider-man game and it now sells for $40-$60 regularly on ebay.
Cant believe Blessing is the only one with the correct take lmao jk its just nice to have someone point more of the reasons why some like myself didnt really like tasm2. Still excited to see Andrew in NWH
Oh Lordy please don’t tell me Anthony C just compared TASM2 to Spider-Man PS4 😭
I was listening in my car on the way home from work, had to swing by the pet store for some cat food and what song is playing over the speakers right when I walk in... FOR YOOUUU, FOR YOOOUUU lol It was too perfect
Also I love this movie, its got eye rolling lows but makes me bawl every time I watch it even though I know what's coming
1:17:00 Donut Media has been putting out those vin diesel family videos. 😂
When someone says this is a bad movie, I won't dispute it because there is a lot in here that does suck BUT this is quintessential Spidey and I think all the things that actually matter in this movie are done so well. Gwen's death is the best scene in any Spiderman movie, and honestly one of my top 5 scenes in any superhero movie. Love TASM2 ❤❤
Y'all have some bizarre opinions on this franchise. Keeps the conversation interesting.
I love Carboni calling him Nickels and how everyone leaned into The Who the fuck is talking?
51:00. 1:12:45. 1:17:00. 1:18:45
1:30:30. 1:43:05. 1:46:00. 2:05:20
2:07:10. 2:08:00. 2:16:50
This movie was great on paper. A lot of plotlines, yes, but that’s the point, with Peter trying and failing to juggle many things, trying to have it all, like the image of him in the clock tower, stretched between 4 different things). But to do that epic of a story they needed to let it be longer, a true epic, to be TDK of Spidey movies.
the only good thing about this movie is gwens death. the movie is a studio interference mess, yet ill tear up every time i hear that thud.
Blessing & I have the same rankings:
_1. Spider-Man 2_
_2. Spider-Man_
_3. The Amazing Spider-Man_
_4. Spider-Man 3_
_5. The Amazing Spider-Man 2_
LOL Blessing contributed more to this one than the previous ones combined!
Gwen's graduation speech reminds me of Dave doing a song with her girlfriend that was foreshadowing their break-up
I'm probably in the minority on this but I like Max/Electro's theme with the lyrics. It hit me as a way to play into Max's mental health.
I would love for in SM NWH for there to be a Spider-Gwen cameo with Garfield and the rest of the Spidey guys and it's revealed to be Emma Stone.
Man we needed Bless to join the plot section to bring some sensibility to it
Really looking forward to Matrix in review. Gonna re-watch all the movies before each review and in preparation for Resurrections.
I thought Anthony was our savior for this series but it was actually Blessing this whole time.
This movie is like how a lot of the KF guys described some of the Raimi stuff. Some great moments in a dogshit movie.
Oh shit the Spidey Song broke me
Aunt May definitely knows he's Spidey and that's why she's a nurse in training; Peter inspired her.
To think I almost didn't watch this and almost missed that Nick Spidey music video......divine intervention?
25:14 Holy f**k! That shit is hilarious! 🤣
YES CARBONI YES. I was so worried beforehand
In the intro, is the Miles Morales Spider-Man Blessing?
It’s mad I’ve gone back n watched these n really wish they continued and see where it went it might actually be better then the rami films especially the swinging n combat
Finally blessing thank you! The way the list should be
Holy shit. Between this and the 3 hour episode of PS I Love You, we are spoiled with KF content today! Let's go!
Goblin’s powers suffer from the Karma Chameleon side effect
They come & go?
Carboni let us down 😔
"Who the Fuck is talking??" 🤣
If a Carboni was a food.... what would it be?
For some reason, I'm thinking of a Chicken Carbonara Calzone ring.
Fuck, I gotta stop smoking before watching KF videos. I'm sorry, I keep posting about Carboni, I can't help it, this man is fucking hilarious.
Okay, okay, so both movies open up with the 00-Parkers dying in a plane crash?
Even with the whispers, TASM 2 OST is a fucking banger all throughout.
I'm convinced that Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation was inspired by this version of the character. Down to the move set and animations, From the dive bomb, to zipping around and the poses in the game. Andrew Garfield is the Best IMO but the movies around him weren't the best. However, this movie has the best cinematic representation of Spider-Man the character, especially the first 10 minutes. Tim is spot on in this review, the hype is real for Garfield as Spider-Man.
I’m confused….did Tim just say the electro score is bad?!?! What?
Off-screen banter was too funny
Are we sure that Spider-Gwen thing is real? I don't think she even existed until later that year if I have my memory straight
My thoughts, too.
My friend who loves spiderman was so excited for the movie, he had a glow to him of joy that he was going to watch it. After the movie was over it looked like someone killed his dog. So defeated and disappointed
Big ups to Nick for including “Thanks for swinging by.” Great twist on Andy’s classic sing-off for these movies. No props to Andy for not being on this one (coward). I knew Tim was lying when he said in the first Timway he didn’t enjoy watching these movies. Why Tim? Why would you lie like that?
I disagree with Tim about the sinister six gear being in the basement. It stops any of those villains being special in any way. They might as well be mercenaries hired by the shadowy-whoever. We can say ‘oh this links it all together’ but all it really does in mash it into one blob that has no character or personality. If Doc Ock was in this he’d just be given the arms and we’d have to be told he’s a genius instead of being shown he is by inventing them. Same with the organic web shooters in the rami movies. We have to spend all this time being told how smart Peter is because he’s never given a chance to show it by actively inventing things.
Streamlining these things to make ‘more sense’ just grinds them down into nothing. (This isn’t directed at Tim just thoughts I’ve had at all the reviews they’ve done over the years for these movies.)
thank God Blessing said the cold blooded truth about this movie. i've read the comics and the original animated, the Amazing series felt like a money maker rather focusing on the plot. I did enjoy Andrew and Emma, they were great.
I watched this film several years ago for the first time and I thought it was pretty lousy and just finished watching it again there for the first time since and while it is better than I remember it being, I do think it is still lousy outside of a few things. If I had to choose between watching this or Spider-Man 3, I would probably go with the latter.
Tim you’re doin a grave disservice to Brian Michael Bendis by saying this is the movie equivalent to ultimate Spider-Man. Even the worst issue of ultimate Spider-Man is better than this turd.
