    January 31st, 1999. I was 16 years old and the first trailer for The Matrix dropped during The Super Bowl. Most amazing thing I ever saw up until that point. I went to ask my grandma if she saw the insanity I just witnessed and found her dead. I'll never forget that trailer.

    Cipher was the guy they took out of The Matrix too late. They usually don't pull people out past puberty, but there's some Easter eggs in the film that let you know he was an adult when they took him out. That might be why he wanted to go back in. I think once you're past a certain age, you can rationalize staying in the simulation.

      I’m curious is it stated they avoid pulling adults out? I can get why but I never recall seeing anything explicitly showing that the characters we see outside have been free since they were children? Is that the oracles role to be the interface for all children waking up? I don’t recall Trinity, Morpheus, Tank, Niobi….ever mentioning coming to reality as a child.

    I was so happy to hear Paris tell the trivia about Keanu's kicks! I learned that a few years ago when I broke my neck in an accident and required 2 vertibrae to be fused. I had always dreamed of learning martial arts and thought that had been shattered. I learned about keanu learning all of his MA training for matrix in a neck brace after he had fusion surgery and that helped me through recovery. I wasnt doing training through my recovery, but knowing someone had been through something similar and achieved a similar goal was inspiring!

    The Oracle tells Neo that the one can't be told that they are the one, they have to discover it themselves.
    Then she says to Neo "You already know what I'm going to tell you"
    To which Neo says "I'm not the one"
    And she says "Sorry kiddo, you got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something."
    Never does she tell him that he's not the one, she just confirms for him that he doesn't believe he's the one.

    • @jwm1444

      I don't even think it's a confirmation that he doesn't believe he's the one. I think she meant "No you ARE The One, and I know you don't want to be."
      Which is why she says later that she hates giving good people bad news.

    Some people are saying The Dark Knight has the best ending, and I think it definitely has one of, if not THE, best ending monologues ever. But visually, when you see Neo fly towards the screen high up in the sky, it was a WTF moment to cap a movie filled with them. Neo could fly. The implications of what that could mean for future possible films blew people's minds, that is only tainted because of what actually came after, even though I like Reloaded.

    If memory serves, the original script had the machines using humans as processors instead of batteries. The producers made them change it because the producers were afraid people wouldn't understand why human brains could be used in such a way.
    I also heard a fan theory that said the machines enslaved humanity because the laws of robotics prevented them from killing us.

    • @furrybproductions
      @furrybproductions 2 года назад

      That's EXACTLY what the humans were being used for. Costs to much energy to keep a human for harvesting energy, lol. I heard a theory that the war hasn't ended, that Zion is a small subset of humanity who were forced into a Pseudo Matrix underground and the machines are still fighting the humans above ground, outside of both The Matrix and the Pseudo Matrix, and the machines are using the processing power of humans to try to figure out how they work so they can win the war.

    The ending to both The Usual Suspects and Fight Club are probably up there with The Matrix. But I would say that my favorite ending is the one from The Godfather.
