    • @keandric2765
      @keandric2765 5 лет назад +3

      Probably wouldn't work too well just due to how the doors open up all the way and how they use it to park the tractor sometimes and offload things into the kitchen and all. Given how the doors open up all the way, they use that whole front of it for things, so only having that tiny bit that's currently cemented and having to worry all the time about not trodding on the herbs would probably get real old :)

  • @Bamboo4U2
    @Bamboo4U2 5 лет назад +1

    Hey Al, instead of filling in the area with gravel around the apron you just poured in front of the outdoor kitchen, why not instead plant up the areas? You could either do a little flower bed or fill it in with something for winter interest, like a compact spruce (which you could decorate with Christmas lights) and trim the area with a small sprinter boxwood hedge (they're small: 2 feet high and wide)? Or, you could put two large container pots and either fill it with annuals (food or herbaceous annuals) or something permanent but hardy for your zone.

    Don't forget to add gutters in both sides of your barn to catch rain water for your animals! Maybe put a big tank, up high, so it will gravity feed to them like at New Yolk City (see I learned!). And add a bucket potty, like at your outdoor kitchen, so you don't have to run all the way back to the house when you need to "go."

    Sounds like Moose has a replacement. Those black copper marans are really pretty roosters. Mine is about three months old, he’s got some really nice colors in his feathers. So far he’s nice, we’ll see when he matures if he still is. Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)

    It hasn't been anywhere near the 90s in the Northwest corner of NC in the High Country. We had 2 days in the last 2 weeks that bumped the 80 mark but otherwise it has been in the 60/70s. We have had 6.5" of rain in the last two days. Rivers exploding and bridges under water. Not supposed to stop raining till Tuesday. I love that milking machine! I'd love to know how you made it! Blessings to all!

    I have never seen such a milking machine. Our ladies are milked by a Lely Milk Robot. Take good care of the teats and try to see how fast the sucking goes by putting your finger in the cup and milking for a moment. Then you know what it feels like and whether it hurts. And if the babies do not drink anymore, it is wise to dip the teats. These are just tips I don't know any better. I am a farmer's daughter and married to a farmer and I studied agriculture. But I still learn so much from you about the Goats and how you farm . I love it.

    The Milker, well, cleaning the hoses won’t be fun... I’m excited for you to get the barn up! The tiny egg was adorable. It’s cold here too and rainy. God bless!

    As my husband told me when I was moving mulch, think of it as peas on a plate, don't chase the pea off the edge of the plate, come from the other side and pull the peas into the middle of the plate. He was telling me to raise the bucket and go behind the pile backing up the tractor and pulling it forward. Then you can get a full scoop with pushing the pile backward when it slides down the back side. LOL

    You are one of the most cheerful people in the morning that I know & have almost four hours of work DONE ✅ before I even open my eyes...east/west coast time difference...& even then, I’m not THAT happy until my first coffee ☕️!!!
    You & your lovely 😊 family are so uplifting!’
    Question: Don’t you need ‘spacers’ in the concrete, like sidewalks, to compensate for the contraction/expansion during cold/hot wx????

    It's nice to see Pluto running and jumping around again. She must have been tired of the cold winter. You're only raising 25+ chickens this year, or will you raise another batch in a few months? Will that be enough for a whole year?

    The meat bird tractor. Try putting a long branch or board on top of the bottom horizontal boards, across the back just in front of the vertical boards. This would make a "sweeper" elevated enough to push the meat birds forward as you drag the tractor without catching them underneath.

    we ran these as well but just above your jar add in a tee and run another hose so you can do both teets at once.
