    On my thru in 2022 the last place I remembered seeing any north of you was by parking lot just south of Killington Peak in Vt. Don’t recall anymore north of there. Happy Trails guys. Got some beautiful country ahead of you !!! Tracker NOBO 22

    We hiked into Clarence Fahnestock SP. Took a shower there and camped in the field. A helicopter came in that afternoon to pick up a thru hiker and transported him to a nearby Hospital..
    Keep pushing North^^^^^^

    Your eyes look like their healing, bites of anything can bring infection, especially for me is poison oak, posion ivy, and sumac! Stay safe! Great views!! Great video!!

    I lived in southern Vermont for three years and have hiked quite a bit there, and spectated on the sidelines of many lacrosse tournaments. Never had an issue with poison ivy. Then again, with climate change it’s becoming more prevalent everywhere. (Never used to have to worry about ticks - now they’re everywhere on our athletic fields in upstate New York.) I think you should be fine staying on the beaten path and not straying into the underbrush. New Hampshire is NBR (nothing but rock) so no worries there!

      Thank you for all the local knowledge. I’m seeing less now than in the south so starting to take some comfort there. Watching for ticks too. I sure appreciate the info!

    We have found the colder the states for the winter months the closer to the ground poison ivy grows. 3-6 inches high.. more like ground cover. My husband has terrible reactions and gets it very easy. Good luck!

      Thank you. I’ve found it gets thick mostly at road crossings. Up in elevation it doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue. I’m hoping our last couple states are mostly clear of it. It certainly stresses me out some! Thank you!

      If you should need to make another visit to a medical provider, you might ask about getting a 15 gm tube of 0.1% triamcinolone ointment. Of course, avoidance is best.

      Gotcha! Thank you for the tip! Hoping for the avoidance!😀

    Your eye is looking a little better in this day’s video.
    Do you have either Ben’s (100% deet) or Repel (100% deet). When the bugs are so horrible it may be good to use that. 🙏🏼🥾

    • @BluegrassonTrail
      @BluegrassonTrail  Месяц назад +1

      I’m using Repel. I’m also going to pick up a bug net this weekend. Thanks for the great advice! Bugs are getting worse!

    You’re funny with some of your comments- you are no dummy!!! 😂 for wanting to hike even with the chance of allergic reactions.
    I guess i should have waited to put all my comments in one block- not 3. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

    Not sure about vermont but you should be pretty safe from poison ivy in nh and maine. I have hiked in the whites years ago and never had issues with poison ivy there.

      @@BluegrassonTrail Thanks I appreciate the info. DJI makes some great gear. Godspeed to Katahdn! In regards to possible poison ivy and nasty bites and stings. Would it be helpful to take an antihistamine daily? Zyrtec or something like that? I had a reaction to an iodine dye for a medical scan once that I had avoided years prior when i was taking Zyrtec daily. It couldn hurt?
