Come along with me as I attempt a northbound thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. I created this channel to document the journey and share with friends. Your invited along as I experience the highs and lows of the AT and immerse myself into this awesome trail community. I am new to hiking, vlogging and RUclips, but eager to learn it all as I embark on this amazing adventure. I am very grateful for all that have made this crazy dream of possible. Now let's get stepping towards Mt Katahdin!

Miss looking forward to your videos. Enjoyed following you and Bandit. Have a great life, enjoy.❤
Thanks for watching my videos! I will cherish the experiences and will be forever grateful for the support that that viewers like yourself provided! Thank you!
Congratulations Bluegrass! Enjoyed following along with you. Well done!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed watching and very thankful for your comment and support!
♡♡♡
Thank you! 👍
U on Facebook or ingram
I am not. RUclips was my first endeavor into social media. Thanks for your comment👍
Loved the video of Bandit eating the clams and lobster!!! I really miss your videos!!!
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate you watching and will cherish those memories and my AT experiences. It was an amazing journey and I’m grateful for your support!
Beautiful there!!! How are your feet and overall recovery from trail life? I am happy you are transitioning back into regular life in an ok way for you. Do you think it is best to go south to north or ok to do north to south- now that u have done south to north…. Do you think about how u would feel going north to south? Thank you for sharing this video!
Great questions, I still have a little bit of numbness in my toes but that is has nearly subsided. I would recommend going northbound if possible. Katahdin is just such a spectacular, special place to end a hike. Also GA is a little easier to ramp up and get your trail legs and people there get you off on a great start! Thanks for your comment!
@@BluegrassonTrail thank you for replying and your insight! ♥️🥾
Well done BG, followed you and Bandit from the start. Enjoyed watching your journey, thank you and congrats!!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you following along!
The moment when Bandit wordlessly stepped aside and took your camera to video you summiting first was touching. It summed up the last six months. You two supported each other for entire walk without any fanfare. Out of curiosity, I did go back and found where you started walking together. I couldn’t remember, but I had been following you both individually prior to your getting together. Thank you again for the entertainment and education. BTW, I watched your running video in Louisville. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you kindly for taking your time to watch and comment on my video! I’m very grateful for all the support I have been given and glad to share so many miles with Bandit! The journey is very special to me and will always be a part of my life that I am very proud of accomplishing. Thanks for following and looking back to our meeting 50 miles into our hike! I plan to keep posting hiking or related content from time to time! 👍
Bluegrass ,I not sure you know but parts of AT and Creeper Trail are gone due to hurricane damage ,East Tennessee and Western North Carolina look like a war zone from flooding.Erwin,Damascus,Roan Mt ,Hampton ,no electricity,no cell service,no drinking water, people missing, there is plenty on you tube and Facebook to see .It is so sad They are literally begging people not to come to NC road and bridges gone ,so sad for western NC ,too
Yes, I have been following the sad devastation and hope the strong folks impacted will rebound as soon as possible! My sister, and her children also live in the Asheville area and have experienced the severe impacts of the storm! I look forward to getting back to some of those places in the near future to offer my support! Thank you!
@@BluegrassonTrail so sorry about your sister I pray all is ok for her, it is mentally draining also it’s shocking the progress in 3 weeks in places, the volunteers have been amazing truly amazing.Asheville is beginning to open back up,except for Biltmore village and the River Arts,it could be a long time for them .If it wasn’t for the volunteers from all over the country,it has truly been a blessing just to see the kindness of people.I hope you and your wife are doing well 🍁🍂
Nice to see you in your Bluegrass area! Miss watching your AT videos.
Thank you so much! It’s great to be back, but I sure miss the trail!
Amazing!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for carrying us to the End!! Mama K!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!! I appreciate your comments and adding to the incredible journey! I sure appreciate it!
It's Good to see you back on video! Great that you are running and staying in shape. It would be great to see you and Bandit getting together on a video, you both are a great team together!! Great video!! And Great Music!!!!
Yes, that would be cool if we can make that happen at some point! Thanks a bunch!
What a beautiful video and great music as always. We aren't going anywhere and will happily shout encouragement to any content you put up. I wish God's richest blessings to you and your whole family, and thank you, Lord, for the safe journey for Bluegrass and Bandit.
I sure appreciate your supportive comments. Thanks for being there for me!
Be cool, best
Thank you!
Did it take a while to build back up your running mileage? KY is a beautiful state to live in. I live near Erwin and the devastation of the recent storm has been gut wrenching. Never take the beauty for granted. My heart goes out to all that have lost homes and loved ones from the storm.
Hope your recovery is going well! I know your area was hit extremely hard! It did take a bit to get back into running shape. My cardio was there, but it’s a different stress on the joints for sure. Thanks for the comment and hope for better days ahead in Erwin area.👍
Thanks for sharing. Can’t imagine how it must have felt. Congrats and enjoy being home.
It was an amazing journey and yes thank you, it’s very nice being home!
It's so good getting an post trail update from you. I hope you will give updates in the days to come. I definitely appreciate your inviting us along on your AT hike. It was an eye opening view of the trail, as well as sharing off trail stops, visits with your wife and friends. God bless.
Thanks so much! I sure appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
We spotted with our little eyes 0 blazes but some beautiful local scenery, an amazing walking stick, cute lobsters, and sdf! Great to see yt notice of BGoT! Totally 2nd another QandA!!! For the trail to springer mt and from Mama K is there white blazes or blue blazes? ( not technically AT but kinda)
I appreciate your comment and the kind words about the video! Thanks for watching!
What was your best & worst day on the trail? Enjoyed watching your adventure, thank you.
I enjoyed watching you on the trail. I am 67 and I ran until 4 years ago due to health reasons. Watching you run brings back memories. Keep it up.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it and hope you can still stay active! I appreciate your comment.

Welcome home, ejoyed watching your hike. Just got back in town from a 5day hike in the red river grouge. Life's A Journey, Enjoy The Ride
I love the Red River Gorge. I hope to get back out there soon! Thank you very much!
Hey there, looking good out there. My last hiker crossing the Kennebec Mon
Thanks so much Mike! You are awesome! I was thinking about you when I saw Tara finish recently! Your support is extraordinary!
Kentucky is such a beautiful state. My sister moved down to Kentucky around Albany because that is where her husband was raised. He moved up here with our family to work his dream job but missed his home state so much. After the kids were raised, they moved back down. They are so happy. My sister loves the hometown feeling and kindness the people. My family enjoys visiting and spending time on the lakes nearby. Thanks for taking us along on your run. Some of the healthiest people that live to be older, exercise daily. ❤ Will continue to follow your channel. I enjoy hearing your insights on the hike.
I love your comment! Louisville area is sure full of some beautiful spots and some friendly people! Thanks so much for watching and making time to comment.
Amazing Hike!! Congratulations!
Wishing you continued travels and adjusting well to home. Just FYI, YT could use more thru-hike vids of the Sheltowee Trace 😉
Well done
There's no place like home, wherever you live. And your home area is beautiful! I thank you for taking us along on your AT journey. Like all of your other followers, I miss watching you and Bandit daily, but will be forever grateful for all the work you put into sharing your hike. Blessings always!

Thank you so much! I miss the trail but also glad to be back near friends and family! I appreciate you watching!
Beautiful area. Good to see you again. How much weight did you lose on trail? We have friends in GA that does the Ragnar (on your shirt)
Ragnar relays sure are fun! I lost about 23 lbs on my hike! Thanks for your comment and taking time to watch my videos. So great to interact with everyone!
Welcome home! I enjoyed watching your hike and that you allowed us to tag along with you! I’m glad you made it through! Take care and God bless you!
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching and sharing your comment!
I was interested in how you got home after completing the AT. It appears you may have rented a car and visited Bar Harbor on the way to an airport. It appears you flew to Louisville from the sign on the wall in what I thought was an airport. I have been through Louisville but never spent anytime there. If I get that way someday, I’ll have to check on you.
Thanks , yes we shuttled to Bangor and rented a car to ultimately fly out of Portland while hitting Bar Harbor on the way! Louisville is home for me and has some cool spots to check out if you get back this way.👍 Thanks so much!
Like you I was a distance runner before my hike. I thought after my AT hike I would be in such great shape I would be able to better my pre hike run times. Not so. I found myself in terrible running condition. It took months to build back up to pre hike running condition. I did not expect that.
So true! It’s different stresses on the body especially if you add long distance into the equation! I’m enjoying the transition though! Thanks for your comment!😊
I hope y'all get back together some. Maybe a short hike here and there. Y'all could start a hiker podcast and some how to videos. Please do a gear review. I'm interested in a durston tent and how you carried water. Keep the channel going. A run or hike here and there. Maybe just a short vlog or day in the life.
Great ideas. I’ll try to bring as many of those to life as we are able! I think they would all be fun! Thank you!
Miss hearing from you. The only thing between is the Big Sandy River.
Very cool. Are you from WV? Thanks for the comment!
Welcome home. I’ve enjoyed watching your hike. A fellow Kentuckian!
Awesome! Thank you! It’s always great to hear from my neighbors👍
Thank you for making this video. The sky was very blue! Look forward to your next video!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a beautiful day for sure, just like our summit! More to come! Thank you!
Thanks for checking in,I am sure you were glad to be back home. That being said it’s a big adjustment. Thanks for sharing your journey……remember the best views are those in front of you 🌿🍃
Yes! Thank you! Well said! It’s great to be back and I’m adjusting well. I get a little anxious sometimes but staying active helps! Great to get a video going again!
Thank you for taking me along. I miss not looking for you and Bandit. Thanks for the update. I got an amazing view of the Appalachian Trail through your eyes.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you and more to come!
Glad you're settled in back home. You look well rested as did bandit. Wondering if you will be looking forward to watching anyone next year do the AT? Or will you be doing trail magic for them?
I’m sure I’ll follow some hikers next year and hope to get out for some trail magic! It will be great to post some videos of those adventures! Thanks!
Good to see you again. I miss not seeing you and Bandit everyday through your journey. Would love to hear about what worked and didn't work and the evolution of your gear. Thanks!
Coming soon! I plan on definitely talking about some gear in the near future! Thanks for the kind comment! More to come.
Welcome back to the bluegrass, Pete and I chatted about you just this past week.
Glad to be back and great to hear from you! Please tell Pete hello for me! Hope all is well👍
great work!
Thanks a lot!
You were 1 in 4! You made it! Congratulations!
Yes! Thank you! I’m very grateful for everyone who helped me get there! Thank you.
I have went back because I haven't seen your first and maybe second video, but have followed you all the way to the end and waiting to see the Mama K summit!
Thank you so much!
