Not as much as Takuto from Love Letter From Thief X, but he is 💯 % TSUNDERE. 🤷🏻♀️ Also, half-only-jokingly, Victor from MLQC looks like inspiration for this Shelby guy, being this briliant restaurant chef persona and exhusted by saving world workaholic world dominating CEO, who looks like constantly dissing mc, but is secretly improving her. 💞 Two others for me are Reimei from Unending Bloody Call and Hazuki Kei from Tokimeki Memorial GS. Yes. Those four are probably my all time fav kuuderes. 💜

To me, Tsunderes have to be somewhat noisy (lol) in that they’re always being mean or being awkward about things etc. This however is my take on it, and you don’t have to necessarily agree ofc 🙂 I agree that Saito is very cool, I can’t say much about him because I have barely touched his route, but he does remind me a lot of Kuga from the parts I have seen 😂 Wait, what’s MLQC stand for again? I always have a soft spot for kuudere and I think the character that made me notice it first in otome games was Kent from Amnesia. Shelby also got my heart in CupiPara because of his kuudere attitude, add to that the arranged marriage trope and it was over for me lol. But I also love tsundere characters when it's done right. If you give them a rough exterior or if they act like gangsters/delinquents even better lol Also LIs who act like big puppies. But what I like even more is when I fall for characters that aren't my type at all. Like Impey from Code Realize.

I'm picky when it comes to kuuderes. They need to be shy maidens under that cool exterior for me to really like them. I do like it when the LI looks deadpan however, like Sasuke from Ikemen Sengoku, but he's not a kuudere. He just kinda looks like one.

I’m still chipping away at Variable Barricade, I’m playing Taiga’s route. As somewhat of a noob to Otome games, I’m constantly struck by how good they are at getting me emotionally invested in fictional scenarios. There’s a real understanding of psychology and storytelling tricks and techniques. What about Shion? Is he kuudere?
It never gets old! 😍 Esp when they nail the voice acting and music 😭 As for Shion, he’s a really hard one to box. I wouldn’t know where to place him, he’s like a thing of his own floating around in the universe alone 🤣 Variable Barricade did a good job coming up with quirky characters 😁
I absolutely love Kuudere characters and Tsudere characters as well. Maybe because I understand them in a sense. I'm a person whose very slow to open up to other people so I enjoy the journey of slowing seeing these characters trust the Mc and show their true character. I loved Van Helsing even though he was constantly pushing Cardia away. I really enjoyed his route especially since I was coming hot off the fumes of Piofiore so Van Helsing really satiated the need for action. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of his romantic side in the fan disc. Although I'm Yang's girl. I was really excited for Dante just from looking at the cover of the game, you can tell he's a cool character with his silver hair and fedora. I question if Dante could be considered to be in the Yandere spectrum because he becomes really unhinged in other routes of Piofiore especially poor Orlok. I understand why he was like that considering he and Lily are fated mates because of their roles. So his back story intertwined with Lilly's to me was the most romantic and I enjoyed him quite a bit. I can't wait til 1926!
Ahhh Van Helsing’s route was my favourite in the game precisely because of all the action! The other routes felt slow in comparison 😂 Also watching him rescue Cardia was just amazing 🥰 Although yes… The pushing away 🙈 As for Dante, I’m glad to see another Dante fan! One of my friends adores him but so many people are focused on Yang, that I don’t hear as much about Dante. I see what you mean about yandere-ness. Although, a certain other character is even more that way 👀 I can’t wait to see more of the characters in 1926 too! I felt like there wasn’t as much steam in Dante and Orlok’s routes, so I’m expecting seeing more cute scenes! 😤

I know Dante is more gentlemanly but I wouldn't mind seeing him be more flirtatious in 1926 😌. OH MY GOD, Orlok was done so dirty when it comes to the romance. The only slight romance we got was in his tragic ending 😭. I was so upset. I typically don't go for the more boyish, innocent types but I think his killer tendencies balanced it out nicely for me 😂. I'm also hoping they give us more romance with him in 1926

Sometimes I don't know which I like better, a Tsundere or a Kuudere lol. I actually love 'chiseling' through a kuudere's exterior. Maybe it's because I also have a few Kuudere traits myself (I related to having a hard exterior with a soft center, I am a Capricorn lol). Say wouldn't Akaza from Olympia Soiree also count as a Kuudere? He rarely gets emotional after all.

I must rearrange who I like within these dere dere boys and other tropes lol. 😂 I think my kind of dere dere changes over time. I know I've already mentioned this to you during the stream that the Tsunderes, Kuuderes, Yanderes, etc will depend on how the character is like similarly how you guess about Luca in your Otome Diaries Video with Shuuen No Virche. (Maybe you should do a series called: Guess The Dere! 😆) Now that I think back, I think my favorite kuudere in middle school has always been Saito from Hakuouki. (Lol, that was also because I watched the anime and gosh, I shed too many tears for that series. 😭) And... I can't think of anyone else besides Akaza, Shelby, and Van. 😅
I guess it really does depend on the character! There are some tsunboys I adore, while others I can’t stand! I like the “guess the dere!” Idea lol. Like everyone it’s exam time 😂 And yeah, I tried to think of all the western Kuuderes. I’ve added a pin with some more I could think of in the comments if you get curious 🙂

Thanks for the clear definition😁! Have always had an inkling of the definition but was never 💯 sure. I actually realise I quite like “kuudere” characters😅 I played Dante first😆! What trope category would Orlok fall into? I also like characters with his temperament. One of my fav anime’s is Hunter x Hunter (2011) and there a character called Killua who I would probably describe as kuudere🤔? Another would be Prince from Run with the Wind. He lives in his own world and does things his own way. Would definitely recommend these shows 😆!

I really enjoy the gap with kuudere characters xD I laugh a lot on their routes. I usually like them, but depending on route or personality details I may have issues 😅 Like, for example, there's certain things I cannot unsee with Van Helsing and Dante 😅😅
I love kuudere characters, there's something special about melting through that cold exterior to the soft inside 🥰 of course, this means that it's disappointing when the process is too short or unsatisfying in some way. they can be tricky to make just right for me, but then again I can be very picky - same with tsundere, they need to be mean but in the right kind of way lol. I have mixed feelings about Takeru in CxM - appearantly I don't like having my/the MC's intelligence insulted 😆 I wonder of anyone else does this semi-self-insert thing when playing games - I think of myself as the MC but we're also not the same people? anyway, I like the LI's to be a little difficult in general because then it's extra cute to me when the romantic stuff happens.

Some Kuuderes can be boring, but when they get it right 😍 As for tsunboys, I hate it when any character insults the MCs intelligence 😩 it just annoys me so much! Makes me want to say well you’re with her so that makes you dumb too doesn’t it 😒 (worst come back of the year lmao). It’s probably why deredere or genki routes aren’t as exciting? You typically get what you see xD
@@RestingPeachFace Yeah, although it's nice to be positively surprised by the warmer boys once in a while, like Enomoto in CxM. I do think I'm not that fond of guys who obsess over the MC from the start (like Impey in CR) which is why Enomoto worked for me. He is a little standoff-ish to begin with but you soon learn why and he's overall mostly sweet and the route focuses on that. I just started Cupid Parasite btw and I can tell Gill might be an eye sore because of my preferences, poor guy 😆 I'm very excited for Allan and Mr 🐌 though.
Yeah I’m not the kuudere type of girl since I find the character development to be annoying since you have to defrost them, then become friends with him and then finally fall in love. Though I am liking Van Helsing rn since it’s action packed and it’s Junichi Suwabe for crying out loud lol but yeah they aren’t my thing hence why I’m usually wary of blond and blue haired guys because they are bound to be kuudere this is also why not many blondes aren’t on my list your personality better be my taste or you won’t get far with me

Maybe i will be hated but i don't like Kent in Amnesia; the anime, i never played the game. He's too serious, a bit strict and boring. I never find him interresting, caring or cute. Shin and Ikki are protective, honest and loyal plus they have adorable smiles. Kent rarely does it, it's like he's never happy. I don't hate him but don't find him as charming as thoses 2. At least he's not a psycopath like Toma and won't lock his crush in a cage, that's reassuring 😌
Nah don't worry, there are lots of LIs to suit everyones tastes and it just happens to be that you aren't as fond of the serious types compared to the others! I am usually not huge on kuuderes tbh, but my closest otome friend is mad for them haha. I have a soft spot for messed up characters like Toma, but I also get that he isn't everyones cup of tea either. I think if you enjoyed the anime, maybe you'd enjoy the game too! 😊
I agree with your opinion about Kent in anime, i dont like him too because of the reasons that are the same as yours. But to my suprises when I played the game, Kent is very different there, it gives SO MUCH detail compared to the anime and shows how much he cared for the heroine and he turns out to be my S rank which really suprise me because I never like Kent in the anime🤣 You should try the game maybe it will satisfy you too💖

Sometimes I don't know which I like better, a Tsundere or a Kuudere lol. I actually love 'chiseling' through a kuudere's exterior. Maybe it's because I also have a few Kuudere traits myself (I related to having a hard exterior with a soft center, I am a Capricorn lol).
Say wouldn't Akaza from Olympia Soiree also count as a Kuudere? He rarely gets emotional after all.

I think my kind of dere dere changes over time. I know I've already mentioned this to you during the stream that the Tsunderes, Kuuderes, Yanderes, etc will depend on how the character is like similarly how you guess about Luca in your Otome Diaries Video with Shuuen No Virche. (Maybe you should do a series called: Guess The Dere! 😆)
Now that I think back, I think my favorite kuudere in middle school has always been Saito from Hakuouki. (Lol, that was also because I watched the anime and gosh, I shed too many tears for that series. 😭) And... I can't think of anyone else besides Akaza, Shelby, and Van. 😅
I guess it really does depend on the character! There are some tsunboys I adore, while others I can’t stand!

What trope category would Orlok fall into? I also like characters with his temperament. One of my fav anime’s is Hunter x Hunter (2011) and there a character called Killua who I would probably describe as kuudere🤔? Another would be Prince from Run with the Wind. He lives in his own world and does things his own way. Would definitely recommend these shows 😆!

I really enjoy the gap with kuudere characters xD I laugh a lot on their routes. I usually like them, but depending on route or personality details I may have issues 😅 Like, for example, there's certain things I cannot unsee with Van Helsing and Dante 😅😅

I love kuudere characters, there's something special about melting through that cold exterior to the soft inside 🥰 of course, this means that it's disappointing when the process is too short or unsatisfying in some way. they can be tricky to make just right for me, but then again I can be very picky - same with tsundere, they need to be mean but in the right kind of way lol. I have mixed feelings about Takeru in CxM - appearantly I don't like having my/the MC's intelligence insulted 😆 I wonder of anyone else does this semi-self-insert thing when playing games - I think of myself as the MC but we're also not the same people? anyway, I like the LI's to be a little difficult in general because then it's extra cute to me when the romantic stuff happens.
I get what you mean, I feel the same way! Some Kuuderes can be boring, but when they get it right 😍
As for tsunboys, I hate it when any character insults the MCs intelligence 😩 it just annoys me so much! Makes me want to say well you’re with her so that makes you dumb too doesn’t it 😒 (worst come back of the year lmao).
It’s probably why deredere or genki routes aren’t as exciting? You typically get what you see xD
@@RestingPeachFace Yeah, although it's nice to be positively surprised by the warmer boys once in a while, like Enomoto in CxM. I do think I'm not that fond of guys who obsess over the MC from the start (like Impey in CR) which is why Enomoto worked for me. He is a little standoff-ish to begin with but you soon learn why and he's overall mostly sweet and the route focuses on that. I just started Cupid Parasite btw and I can tell Gill might be an eye sore because of my preferences, poor guy 😆 I'm very excited for Allan and Mr 🐌 though.
Yeah I’m not the kuudere type of girl since I find the character development to be annoying since you have to defrost them, then become friends with him and then finally fall in love. Though I am liking Van Helsing rn since it’s action packed and it’s Junichi Suwabe for crying out loud lol but yeah they aren’t my thing hence why I’m usually wary of blond and blue haired guys because they are bound to be kuudere this is also why not many blondes aren’t on my list your personality better be my taste or you won’t get far with me
They’re definitely the type you need a lot of patience with 😂

@@RestingPeachFace He’s like my third favorite he at least had some unintentional funny moments and Urie pokes fun of him (I speak from the anime pov) and episode 9 had the song where the three boys call Rem out on this Bs because man was he acting like an idiot and it I’d like to agree with Urie is probably smarter then Rem since he is very perspective which is how he can sense Rem likes her.

Maybe i will be hated but i don't like Kent in Amnesia; the anime, i never played the game. He's too serious, a bit strict and boring. I never find him interresting, caring or cute. Shin and Ikki are protective, honest and loyal plus they have adorable smiles. Kent rarely does it, it's like he's never happy. I don't hate him but don't find him as charming as thoses 2. At least he's not a psycopath like Toma and won't lock his crush in a cage, that's reassuring 😌
Nah don't worry, there are lots of LIs to suit everyones tastes and it just happens to be that you aren't as fond of the serious types compared to the others! I am usually not huge on kuuderes tbh, but my closest otome friend is mad for them haha. I have a soft spot for messed up characters like Toma, but I also get that he isn't everyones cup of tea either. I think if you enjoyed the anime, maybe you'd enjoy the game too! 😊
I agree with your opinion about Kent in anime, i dont like him too because of the reasons that are the same as yours. But to my suprises when I played the game, Kent is very different there, it gives SO MUCH detail compared to the anime and shows how much he cared for the heroine and he turns out to be my S rank which really suprise me because I never like Kent in the anime🤣 You should try the game maybe it will satisfy you too💖
