"The feelings of emptiness and depression after engaging with something so absorbing are because a part of you died when that experience ended."
Man that hit hard. It was exactly how I felt when I finished my first otome code:realize and I've been obsessed with this genre ever since. >

So true, I love that description...as soon as you allow yourself to become part of the game in order to enjoy it as much as you did, the more it takes away from you when it ends
But in the end it's kind of wonderful, that games like Code Realize can give us those feelings, right?

I want you all to know and remember that every fictional character comes from a very real mind and heart. I've been repeating that a lot (especially to students, I'm a teacher and also a writer). When I write, I, most of the times, convey my own emotions and thoughts through pieces of me that take the form of characters! Men, women, creatures... (And that just might be the basis of fiction writing!) So, don't ever feel "weird" for loving your husbandos and waifus. Enjoy your feelings and make the best from them!

WHOA!!!This is INCREDIBLE. I never knew the brain does not diffrentiate between realistic fictional characters and real people. Now I have a good justification as to why I get so attached. Brilliant and wonderful video XD And I never thought about how the deep effects of playing the games for so long makes the bonds even more powerful
Also YESS bad endings are so sad when the character ends or dies is just so heartbreaking. I remember when an LI I adored died and I cried for 3 hours

@@LinLinLavender Yes,I do have a character that I have a so called paranormal relationship with; Mettaton Ex from the video game, Undertale. He is a humanoid robot that is anime looking and there is dating simulator fangames of this video game. The Undertale fangame is called Underlove dating sim and works just like these otoma games as they are called. There are 4 updates to Underlove dating sim: 1. You date Flowey the flower who is a manipulative flower,2 &3 are Sans and Papyrus the skeleton brothers, ( they are both funny and there's 2 different endings to their dating simulations ) Sans is short, lazy and tells jokes while his brother, Papyrus is average hight and loves cooking spaghetti. Last but not least is Mettaton/ Mettaton Ex in update 4. Mettaton is the box shaped robot that turns into the oh so fabulous Mettaton Ex! All 4 characters from Undertale 's dating simulations are good, but the most charming of the bunch in definitely Mettaton Ex. He may be a robot, but he is a tall, dark haired humanoid robot man, with a unique feminine style. And in conclusion Mettaton Ex is not human but has a realistic human like personality and is my favorite Undertale character.

I would love another video regarding this topic which focuses more on like what impact fictional characters actually have in our lifes.
Like for example Im suffering from depression and also feel lonely a lot of the time. I played a lot of otome games but am now kinda worried that like my "standards" got way to high thanks to those characters. Like I now that real people will never be that "perfect" like fic. Characters. Even the bond to the side characters who are not dateable in the game feels somehow more intense and true then towards real people for me. Its hard to explain. But I dont think I will ever be able to like someone as much as those fictional idiots.
And that makes me realise that I will probably lonely for the rest of my life lol.
Anyways what I wanted to go for:
Do you think I feel like this because otome games kinda "manipulated" my life/expections whatever?

    • @LinLinLavender
      @LinLinLavender  2 года назад +1

I also want to make a video how our fictional relationship influence our real ones!
Oh, that's a difficult question...I don't think I can answer that...because you said you know these guys are fictional and too perfect. Maybe you just don't have people in you life, who can offer you the support and love you need at the moment? (But these questions might be best discussed with an expert, like a therapist)

I swear I keep love character for 30 years 100% loyal to him never cheat him ahaha till I saw the mangaka set a marriage for him and he finally gone from my life
I don't wish them to be in real because I go to the fantasy XD so I never asked the character to be real
and I hate shirtless photo of 2D man ahahah XD I find it discussing ( sorry ) but I attract to face only ^^"
    man already have their game
it's time we have our game too lool XD
Japan otome game is the best forever ! even I don't have someone because the person I fall in ( he dies ) and I'm still single in fictional world XD
I wish I could find someone from Japan otome game worth my time but till now ( non ) I just love fiction who dies .. why I'm keeping my eyes with people who end up dying ( my unlucky )
well for me I like to see someone similar to me in a game , right now CN game Tears of themis Luke is representing me most of him
and Gavin from game Mr love we have something in common and share an interest
I treat those guys as friends >~<
because as lovers my heart already dies and I don't know how to heal it .. 6:12 I think this is me,, who dies the emotion of fall in love in fictional and reality ..
they must create comfort otome game not include harm to our fav character more harm more I HATE ! leaving the game feeling guilt to skip those ,..
7:00 I love this part of feelings you are amazing !
7:57 now I'm thinking if love is necessary or not XD
9:11 you tears me in this part ( treasure those experiences the game give you )
wow I have no words to say how much this video is rich of many answers I've been tired to describe to CN otome games recently!

Oh sure, I totally forgot to link the survey! It's very interesting right?
It's definitely an interesting form of relationship you have with a fictional character...but as long as they are happy - why not? Sounds like a difficult task! Do you have any specific game in mind?
It's totally alright if you don't want the character to be real and just enjoy the game as it is
You have been playing otome games for a long time it seems, very impressive
Oh sorry, but you're right, the face is the most important part looks wise
Do you mean you often fall in love with fictional characters, but then suffer because the game ended?
Luckily there are many fluffy games where no one needs to suffer :)
At least you found two characters that suit you!
      Thank you 🥰
Well, being lonely is not the same thing as being alone, so you can be alone (and single) and are not necessarily lonely. You can be completely happy without a romantic partner!

I don't play much otome games some games the most I like about otome the arts and also I enjoy seeing boys reaction and collect information as long I'm an artist too, and never felt there as love interest just a someone who enjoy there , but I do with the character I LOVE it
not quite long but I always wish this type of games since I always enjoy self insert in games anime so I love if the character would react with me because I really enjoy being with them
I never fall in real people that what I meant, and I have 3 characters are my LOVE BUT ALL DIES in the end of story/game and even if I just like and add to my fav list they died,, so that why I said I'm still single I have my LOVE and like character dies in the story that's a horrible taste of me to pick up someone who would die in the end ! XD
well.. not having a friends in real life who could share the craziness life you have and treat you as creapy is kinda sad ,, the worst when they asked you to stop enjoying this! and focus in life ! :( that what makes me more alone in this community
