@@RestingPeachFace About this whole thing of a character who push away their love interest ... The TV tropes site calls this as the "break his heart to save him" trope. By the way, I also don't like this "break his heart to save him" trope.
I am on the exact same page as you with the poster boys! I was *really* looking forward to Akaza's route in Olympia Soirée, but I just found the other characters more interesting! 😅
Yes! Another person who doesn't like Lupin from Code Realize aka the poster boy. Then again Van's route was written better so Lupin couldn't compare for me anyways. xD
I'm not sure with Hijikata classified as Dandere. But maybe it's because I often listened him in Drama CDs, which showed more of his kinder and hilarious side. I thought Tokisada is supposed to be the shota of the Olympia Soiree? Sure, Himuka looks young, but I think Tokisada fits more for the shota title. I'm okay with most poster boys... My problem with most poster boys is their typical characteristic of being "perfect-like" and other characters often implied in the game the poster boy is the most suitable for heroines, etc. The character themselves aren't bad, but it became boring and repetitive to have characters with these characteristics as poster boys. The only poster boys that I know didn't follow this "tradition" is Hijikata and Chitose from Toki no Kizuna. Yandere...yeah, I don't like this type. There're some that I can tolerate as long as not too much like Tohma (no offense, really). For a second, I thought Iba from Hakuoki could be a yandere, but he's not (to my relief). 😅 I wonder if the time will come where we can see more characters who are none at all of the typical tropes.
So I feel like tropes can be subjective to some extent! I used Hijikata as an example because he has a cool demeanour and doesn’t speak unless necessary until the MC gets to know him, and then you finally see the dere, or “kinder/cute” side 🥰 I felt like Tokisada and Himuka were both shota tropes (as they both look childlike), which was what I felt sad about OS, but the others made up for it - I feel like games don’t necessarily have to have one of that trope. Sweet Clown only had menhera tropes, for example. I agree with what you say about poster boys, they probably become boring due to the “they were meant to be” situation. I also feel like they tend to just be eye candy hahaha. Yanderes aren’t for everyone, definitely 😂 I personally like them because of the shocking things they do 😍 it makes the story interesting lol. There have been a couple of games where I struggled to box them, but all in all I feel like the tropes often exist because they are so popular 🙂
O-gataken is definitely my favourite troupe🥺 but I find it hard to come across this route. Yukimura Sanada (Samurai Ballad) is one of my favourite o-gataken character. Thankyou for suggesting yamato(?) from psyche delic, will put him in my to-do-list ^^ Can someone reccs me more character for this troupe? really appreciate it🥰
They’re so difficult to come by in localised games 😭 even Yamato lacks being a big guy (although I think he’s more muscular than the others?). If it’s unlocalised then I could list a bunch, but 🤔

I’m wondering if the FDs will change my mind lol. Have you played the FDs?
@@RestingPeachFace Like the sequel games? If so, no he doesn't improve at all.
@@lanalewis6982 Oh noooo, I was so hoping that he would 😂💔
I'm not sure with Hijikata classified as Dandere.
I wonder if the time will come where we can see more characters who are none at all of the typical tropes.
So I feel like tropes can be subjective to some extent! I used Hijikata as an example because he has a cool demeanour and doesn’t speak unless necessary until the MC gets to know him, and then you finally see the dere, or “kinder/cute” side 🥰
I felt like Tokisada and Himuka were both shota tropes (as they both look childlike), which was what I felt sad about OS, but the others made up for it - I feel like games don’t necessarily have to have one of that trope. Sweet Clown only had menhera tropes, for example.
I agree with what you say about poster boys, they probably become boring due to the “they were meant to be” situation. I also feel like they tend to just be eye candy hahaha.
Yanderes aren’t for everyone, definitely 😂
I personally like them because of the shocking things they do 😍 it makes the story interesting lol.
If it’s unlocalised then I could list a bunch, but 🤔
@@RestingPeachFace ah i see no wonder it's hard to find😔 If it's not hard on you, can you give me your top3 unlocalised charac for this? I'd like to check them out for future research lol🧐🤓
Ok so there are a few, Kirei from Jakou no Lyla, Natora from Cendrillion Palika, Kurobe Daigo from School Wars. If you like one that looks like an old man (lol) Benkei from Birushana Senki. Hmm… those are the ones that come to mind I think 🤔 hope that helps! 😁
@@RestingPeachFace wah i love you thanks a lot for this!💗🥺 I search them up & everyone looks great & I can dig Benkei, he doesn't look that old old atleast for me XD
You’re welcome! 🥰 yeah idk just something about him 🤣 I think it was because he was ogataken but mixed with the loyal servant type trope? But yeah I still liked his route but my fan girling wasn’t Kirei level 😍
What game is this and l like video
So in this video I talk about characters from multiple different games, but if you're asking what genre it is, it's "otome games" 💖
Some games of which characters I speak about are: Piofiore, Hakuoki, Code Realize and Collar x Malice!
And thank you! I'm happy you liked the video 🥰
Kuuderes unite hahaha
I have never met anyone who’s so into Kuuderes as you are 🤣
@@RestingPeachFace i feel honored to be the first one you meet HAHAHA
Hi Lilu. How you doing?
Hi! I’m doing well, have a bit of a headache though - what about you?
I’m good. We are babysitting my sister’s dog this weekend.
@@AnimeGirl4891 Aww! What breed is it? Dogs are so cute 🥺💕
I’m not exactly sure. All I know is that dog is from Russia and she’s very sweet and adorable
