So excited to share with you my latest episode! It's all about my kitchen: I gave it a makeover with a lighting upgrade and lots of color by installing a temporary backsplash, and painting a wall, but without actually painting it! #bluekitchendesign #smallkitchendecoration #diybacksplash

You are so clever, and also I feel that what differenciates this tutorial from most diy tutorials I've seen is that in some diy tutorials, they are so focussed on showing you how easy it gets done, yes, they succeded in making me believe I can do it but as I'm actually executing the job, I run into some situations that weren't adressed in the "so perfect how to" tutorial and I sometimes end up feeling not "capable", that I must have done something wrong, and I'm left puzzled with how to troubleshoot the issue, but you are not afraid to say: ex: well even if I did all I was supposed to do to remove the air bubbles in the wallpaper, there some left, so I poke them with a pin :) I guess what I mean is that your approach is just very "realistic", so just wanted to say Thumbs up! Thank you!
Girl, you're anointed! Your landlord should hire you to design and stage their models. Thank you for being a blessing.
Painting on contact! Omg so simple yet so genius! I don't know why I didn't think of it.. time consuming but I have lived with a really ugly kitchen before so sometimes it is worth it. Glad I found this channel today.
Isabelle you are my hero, I too live in an apartment. I want so desparatey to paint my bedroom!! However would have to restore it to its original state. This is a great way to do it without the re-paint hassel -- You rock!! thanks
Painting over white peel n stick wall paper?? How easy and brilliant! Never thought of that! Fantastic idea thank you!
Your blue kitchen wall looks wonderful!! What a great idea to install temporary paper that is paintable!
Congrats on your new place, Isabelle! I recently did the big move, but in the opposite direction from LA bak to NYC. I did the NYC to LA cross-country move 10 years before that over 4 days, just as you did. Love your ideas, how easily you show them and how honest you are when you run into little problems or imperfections along the way, which is bound to happen, but few show. Thanks for your creativity and realness, I hope you enjoy your new home and the wonderful weather! :)
this is actually perfect timing! I'm planning to redesign my kitchen. What a great idea for a backsplash!
I loved the temporary wallpaper with paint idea...who would've thought?! I'm just happy I now have an alternative to actually painting the walls in my apartment that's still easy to remove when I leave. Thanks Isabel!! :)
Jhene Beech was it easy to remove?
Creative ideas...never would have thought to use fabric for a backsplash...i love textiles! Impressive customizing the wall with the paintable contact paper. Especially with that deep blue.
I am a new sub. My tiny cottage is 650 square feet and a challange to decorate. Being an older single lady, i find your projects doable. Your so talented and i love your projects. Keep it up!!

Hi Isabelle, the tip with the puck-lights under the cupboards was exactly what I was looking for! I got some at HomeDepot (ILLUME Kit of 3, LED, complete with wiring and a 3-way light switch for Off/low/high) for CAD 35, and the situation in my kitchen is exactly like yours, at 4:54. I just have 2 puck above the sink and 1 under the left cupboard. It was installed literally within minutes. Thanks for your inspiration. As a DIY-girl I am of course a subscriber, love your channel.
That backsplash idea is genius.
I've been subbed for awhile. 2017 I finally began using some of your suggestions. They worked great for me. Thank you. I came across an idea of using a tension rod in kitchen cabinets, about 2 inches from back of cabinet as a "shelf" for spice bottles. Love your helpful videos.
