    I found this brand through some science-based podcast that I listened to once. Anyway I thought it sounded amazing and so scientifically-backed. The founder is some stem cell scientist. Anyway I believed the hype and bought into the product, have been using it consistently for around 7 months now. My skin is the best it’s been in years and I just turned 43.
    - I did have a bout of dryness recently that I combat with extra ceramide-rich moisturizer over top.
    - I don’t like how they recommend to layer products as they say to use the moisturizer with the OS-1 peptide first and then any other subsequent serums or skincare after. (I wish their OS-1 peptide was in a low molecular weight serum).
    - I worry about absorption as it’s contained in the moisturizer.
    - my partner has been using it too and he too went through a bout of skin dryness and his eyes look a bit more aged (but he does have sun damage).
    I kept going as I trusted “the science” of blocking senescent cells.
    Saying all that my skin is;
    - more even toned in general (with less redness that I used to experience)
    - texture is a little improved but still a little rough
    - less oily and more overall balanced
    So I don’t know! Should I keep going and see what happens? Is it all just a waste of time?
    I really like my skin atm though so I’m torn!
    (I do also use Qure face stamp (microbeedle stamps) and other products containing retinol, niacinamide and vitamin C).

    This info is outstanding. As a English MA and a lawyer, I am hung up on words and their meaning. I love that you deconstructed the products/company. And though we are all unique in our reaction to any product, I had a severe reaction to the sunscreen. I tried it 3 different times in different areas to ensure that it was not any other item I was using. My skin was bright red/burned on my face and then when I tried only on my arm and wrist--same reaction. I stopped using after these test areas resulted in such a severe reaction. I am likely allergic to an ingredient in this formula. I have used other sunscreens with no contact type reaction. In summary, I am off any of this company's products.

    I've actually been using this for 6 months or so now for eye and face and it has actually changed my skin for the better. It's thicker and can tolerate .1 tretinoin now, whereas before I used to peel like crazy. Also, I've listened to different interviews about its senolytic qualities, kind of like how rapamycin cream is also being touted

    • @Dr_Abs
      @Dr_Abs  4 месяца назад +12

      That's brilliant to hear. However, even without it, the skin stops peeling after a while anyway with tretinoin because the number of receptors increases. The problem with talking about seno qualities is that even tretinoin will have them to some extent as will a better diet. It's impossible to compare when there are so many variables. It's difficult to even say whether your skin would be better this way or by using something like just differin morning and night for the same length of time.

      I've been using the face cream and cleanser since July, and my skin has never felt so soft and smooth. I can see a fast difference in the texture of the pores on my oily skin and the depth of wrinkles, especially around my mouth. I, too, can tolerate Tretinoin better since using this, but redness (especially after derma rolling) was a problem long before using OneSkin. Sure, their marketing is over the top, trying to be trendy with words like "supplement." Haha, that is funny, for sure. I do, however, hear Dr. Abs that we don't need this if we are already using Tretinoin. It is expensive, and I've skipped my next order. I will finish what I have and then decide. I feel so desperate at age 59 when things are sagging tremendously now! 😬

    It’s very interesting. I think it’s almost impossible to trust anyone anymore, because marketing works and market full of products. And some honestly good brands mixed with not so much. The same with cosmetics procedures, everyone is un expert and well qualified in nutrition, mental health, relationships, make up, food production . Even medical studies and research keeps changing with very conflicted results. And as social media grows the more conflicting evidence emerge so widely available pushing agenda for making their living. As a general consumer It’s very difficult to see it through as it’s all looks genuine and reasonable.
    We are experimental generation. We tried more things than any other generation before us. And we are putting so much emphasis on perfection, would it be ultimate diet, skin care, life style.. ect.
    I hope that we can reach more of its good enough approach! 😊

    I completely understand your skepticism about marketing claims. I decided to try the product because Dr. David Sinclair endorsed it, and I trust that he wouldn't recommend something ineffective. I primarily use it on areas where Paula’s Choice retinol products cause irritation (neck and chest), and I’ve been very pleased with the results. A friend of mine, who is a doctor, also swears by it. To be honest, aside from tretinoin products (which I can’t use on my neck and chest), this is the best product I’ve ever tried. And I’ve tried a lot.
    Additionally, the before and after pictures are quite realistic. This company had the honesty to showcase subtle improvements that might be hard to capture in photos, but I can definitely see and feel the difference.
