Throw some Tin foil over those headers next time to prevent oil all over those headers
Solid tip!
@@MonkeyButtRides
You're one of the few who just removed the lower fairing part, some guys went as far as removing the whole right side.
And yes, it's basically common sense if you don't want oil on exhaust, you put something over it to direct the oil away, My Pet Chimp taught me that.
Thank you for being the first to show the small panel removal for oil filter change!
You are welcome, sir. If there is anything else you like to see just let me know!
Yeah my oil change break in period was at 20K miles LOL. Same with my wing, first change was at about 500mi. We use the manufacture oil also, just to be safe.
Loving your camera work and voice over.
Thanks Rich!
Great video. Oil change is fun, quite easy to do yet important enough to make you feel connected to your bike.
💯
Another great one. You deserve more subscribers then you have.
I'm learning so much from this channel. Need it cuz dat new ones on the way 😆 and yes brought all these thumbs ups 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You are a legend, go easy I don't want you to run out of thumb up's!
Congrats on hitting miles for first change!
Thanks man, hope you are feeling better!!!
@@MonkeyButtRides thanks brotha, not quite enough to ride yet, but gaining on it
Ain't it crazy Yamaha created their own oil yet I know a lot of guy use it in a wide range of bikes, so people need to relax as there definitely won't be any issue with it inside the Busa lol. Feel the pain of this video watching you remove the bottle fairing, my Sprint ST is exactly the same, bloody nightmare.
Definitely made a little bit of a mess on the down pipes but nothing an oil rag can't clean up. Great video mate. Happy New Year to ya as well.
I put Honda gear oil in my Yamaha motocross bike and I put Yamalube in my Busa. Gonna start using Yamalube in my ZX10 to cause it's WAY cheaper then the Motul stuff. Thanks man!
Now that’s a job even I do on my bike. 👍
Filters and fluids!!!
Question - any chance you can do a review on how to set and maintain the chain on the new BUSA?
Was told by a few thus far that it is very difficult to do with the huge exhaust, and that there is no room to do the regular maintenance on the chain?
My new Busa ( black / gold ) will be here in the spring - just looking to learn a bit more where possible - great videos love them all ... Happy New Year Sir
Yes! I can do a video on the chain maintenance. Thanks and Happy new year to you as well!!
Yamalube was the main oil used in 2 dealerships I've worked at
That makes me feel better about it (for reals) and it's super cheap for full synthetic. That Motul was like twice maybe 3 times as much.
1st oil change already??? I've been slacking with putting miles on my Z900RS. I'm a SLACKER!!! lol
😂😂 and now that the cold weather seems to be setting in....😥😪 can't complain we have had the most mild fall ever.
thanks man! I am going to attempt this myself, my dealer is sooo backed up and I am over lol. ordered the ring too🤟
you got this!
@@MonkeyButtRides haha I cargo netted the oil drain pan and tools last night to me busa 🤡
Yamalube smells different to my cars oil. I think its good stuff. Good choice as long as it meets the makers requirements.
Yamalube is cheap to and I'm cheap, we were made for each other....
@@MonkeyButtRides I would not call Yamalube cheap but it is good value for money. I think it may be molybdenum that gives it its distinctive odour. I have often thought the same as you to use it in all my bikes, as long as the required API is met. So I would not call you cheap but a man having an eye for great value.
Why did the garage people not change it for you? Surely the first service was free? :O
Poor Chuck :D Wow look how clean that engine is :O I want a Busa so so damn much :D
The first service is totally free, I just prefer and enjoy working on my bikes. As weird as it may sound, I feel more connected to my bikes when I'm the one working on them. How else am I gonna learn how to take off that lower fairing....😂😂🤦♂️
@@MonkeyButtRides that's very true! I'm just a miserable poor person so I'd have at least asked for the oil and such for free 😂😂😂
That's why I went for the yamalube...it's like Motul but on a 75% discount....😂😂....I might start putting yamalube in my cars...😂😂
@@MonkeyButtRides hahaha 75%!!! Send me some 😂😂
Great video! I substituted the bike stand for my girlfriend, though. Figured since she likes riding on the back. The least she can do is hold the Busa level as I do the oil and filter change 😂🤣
Thanks man, and it sounds like your girlfriend is a keeper!!
Nice vid, But I havent been able to find a vid yet on removing the fuel tank cover. Have you done that yet?
I did a video on changing the air filter so I'm pretty sure I covered the tank cover and tank.
ruclips.net/video/AHCxi8ADg_E/видео.html
I was really hoping to get the oil filter part number from this. It's good to know about the hidden screw. Thanks.
16510-07J00
Love the shirt! Saw them in Tampa in 77... for about 20 minutes 😆 and thanks for the vid. I also have a black 22 Busa and will be doing the 1st oil change soon. Waiting to see how the install goes on the M4 exhaust. Thanks
Led Zeppelin is one of those bands that creates timeless music. Congrats on the Busa, nice color choice! 😁👍 Thanks for watching and the M4 install vid is coming soon!
@@MonkeyButtRides Search "Led Zeppelin June 3rd 1977 concrt" I was at that show. You'll see why I only saw the 20 minutes. 😅
@@donaldhazelton924 Wow, I would not want to be the guy to tell 70k people to go home. That was pretty shitty for the concert to end like that.
@@MonkeyButtRides No one did, the stadium lights came on and the band was long gone, then the rioting started. It was nuts! Your shirt was from that tour, I have the same one. I remember tickets were only $10 🤣.
Nice video. I just got my 22 busa and I love it
My wife works at the dealership I got my bike and come to find out they put yamalube in all the new bikes no matter what bike just because is cheap lol
Congrats on the new busa! Yeah, I'm going to use Yamalube in all my bikes going forward, Motul is so expensive.
Thanks
No problem
@@MonkeyButtRides ur cool man
Great vid 👍🏼 although apparently a few people are have found that the oil level isn’t appearing in the site window bubble. Another RUclipsr has contacted Suzuki & waiting an answer because they checked another on showroom floor & it was the same…. No level.
Thanks man, and that is very strange, no oil in the site window. I wonder how that is even possible.
Mine won't show any oil on the window bubble unless I hold it up straight off the stand. Then it shows it's right in between the fill marks.
@@ANSWERTHECALLOFJESUSCHRIST that sounds right you shouldn't see any oil if it's on the side stand. If you do you have to much oil in the engine.
Nice Shirt
An absolute timeless band and timeless music.
200mm rear tires will be a good addition.
Sickkkkkkkk
Stupid question, but I'm in Hawaii so Suzuki won't ship parts from their catalog; is it the same filter for the 2022 as it is for previous model years? Great video btw, thanks for this.
I was pretty sure the answer is yes but I looked up the part number online for older models and the oil filter # is 16510-07J00. Then I looked through the side fairing on my 2022 and got lucky the part number was starring right back at me and it's the same number. So yes it's the same oil filter! Was worried the part number on the filter would be on the other side where I wouldn't be able to see it.
@@MonkeyButtRides thanks for taking the time to do that…🤙🏽
Did anyone else struggle with the rubber grommet in the middle of the inside of the fairing? I can't get mine back into the metal bracket
@timmothyames3296 try using WD40 or a bit of grease, you can also heat it a bit to make the rubber a bit more flexible hope that helps
Textbook Oil Change
Thanks BoltBucket!
Bro i need your help: i dropped my gen 3 busa i thought the kick stand was down. I checked the oil level but saw no oil in the glass, could i use 20W-50 oil which i normally use for my Harley in the Busa?
Sorry about the drop, the kickstand is shit. Suzuki recommends 10W-40, 20W-50 is on their oil/temp chart in the manual but 20W-50 is to be used for really hot climate, like 50-100 degrees Fahrenheit. I also wouldn't mix different viscosity. What's also alarming is where did your oil go?
What about the Reset on The screen ? how did you reset it ? THANKS!
You have to pop the passenger seat or rear cowling off, there is a red plug and you need to jump two pins in the plug. This will bring up the service reset and allow you to set the next service notification (Date and miles). There is a video out there where the guy jumps the plug with a paper clip. It's pretty easy. I don't use the paper clip I instead use a piece of wire, clipped the housing off the ends, it's only a few inches in length and that's how I jump the pins. Suzuki also sells the other end of the plug but it costs around $80.
I’m looking for just the crush washers. I can only find the plug and washer together.
You can get crush washers at the dealership which is where I got mine. You can also order OEM parts online.
@@MonkeyButtRides thank you
I’m collecting my HAYABUSA’22 in two days. Is the first service at 1000km ?
Congrats, first service is at 600/1000 miles/km
Hi how did u reset the service engine tool sign
You can use a paper clip or just a piece of wire, like 12 or 14 guage wire and you just need to jump to pins in one of the connectors under the passenger seat. Someone made a vid I will see if I can find it.
ruclips.net/video/cRxY-14ZZso/видео.html
I want to ask that for old model busa the whole side fairing we have to open for oil filter and I want to ask that you just open small part of fairing so it means suzuki make this generation easy for oil filter change aur you just have a trick 😅
No tricks, you only have to pull the small fairing at the bottom. Just watch out for the inside bolt. 😁👍
So they changed in 3rd generation because In 2nd generation the whole side fairing we have to open
Sounds painful, when are you upgrading??
What is the size of drain plug?
17mm
How many quarts does it take?
Owners manual says 3.6 with a filter change and 3.4 with oil only change. I never do oil only and I find 3.6 to be pretty accurate. 3.75 at the most.
yeh my Kawasaki I dont need to remove anything either
Man, the mechanic at the bike shop I bought my 'Busa from is a nice guy, but after he handed me my new bike with grease marks from his hands on the matte silver paint, now I don't trust him with my free first oil change after seeing this video. 😩
I think I'll do it myself and have the peace of mind someone picky and delicate like me did the job. I used to be a UH-60 repairer in the Army, but I really dislike getting dirty and feeling physical resistance. 😝
I never understood why people remove filler plug first. Makes sense to remove drain plug first then filler plug so oil doesn’t gush out all over the place but whatever you like. Lol
Hopefully I did it in the right order in this video??? LOL I think it's also important to leave the plugs open when you pull the filter off. On my ZX10 I always get more oil out when I pull the filter off after the drain plug as slowed to a drip.
What oil filter?
🤔
Oil filter should be torqed to 20 nm, impossible to do it without the correct tools. But apart from that good video
Thanks. I have never torqued an oil filter to spec on a motorcycle or car ever in my adult life....I'm bad. 😆
@@MonkeyButtRides
I agree I do it hand tight on a car , but would almost be impossible to get the filter tight enough 20nm by hand in that location, if it was to leak guess where it will end up . Would not want you sliding down the road due to your back tyre covered in oil for the sake of a few pounds, (oil filter genuine cap 68mm £10). Just some friendly advice from one busa owner to another.
My God, you don’t have to take the fairing off
and how else do you get to the oil filter on a Busa without taking off the lower right fairing?
Can u let me know plz
ruclips.net/video/cRxY-14ZZso/видео.html
God I hate that it dumps oil all over the headers
yeah, that part sucks.
@@MonkeyButtRides I seen someone make a tray out of aluminum foil and lay it across the exhaust. When the oil drains down it will hit that and run into the drain pan. Tried it myself and it works good. Just shape the aluminum foil to where it run over the exhaust. No mess on the exhaust.
Wrap the exhaust with tinfoil creating a drain way
Good tip!
2.48 of bla bla never getting to the point so stopped
I don't believe for a second that you paid two dollars and forty eight cents for this video? Oh...you probably meant to use a colon : to denote minute and seconds....I.E. 2:48 I don't believe you watched 2:48 seconds and didn't see the point?
