    Thanks NutriSense for providing me with a CGM so I could share my results!
    Hey friends! Today I'm sharing my review of NutriSense's continuous glucose monitor (CGM). As someone with PCOS, I'm definitely interested in how foods impact my blood sugar levels. I like to make sure my blood sugar is stable, but I never want to be too restrictive with my diet. I love carbs! Wearing a CGM while testing my current diet for PCOS was so enlightening. In this video I share what I learned tracking my blood sugar and the diet changes I'm making. I loved the dietitian support that NutriSense provides along with the CGM and app. I think you'll love it too!

      I've been interested in something like this for a while. Question: it seems like you are logging your food in a food journal style, rather than entering exact amounts (like My Fitness Pal)? In the past I've failed with apps/programs where you need to put exact amounts, since nothing we use to cook with has a barcode to scan.

    • @jordanwaddell
      @jordanwaddell  Год назад +1

      @@teagibbs Love this question. With this app you have the option to log either way (exact amounts of each food OR a general explanation of the meal). I chose to just log generally rather than put in exact amounts. I'd rather spend my precious meal breaks cooking and preparing rather than measuring and weighing. But I like that both options are there for those that prefer the former!

      Here's a video explaning how fructose is low on the glycemic index, yet still triggers a significant insulin response despite not registering as blood glucose.

      Hi Jordan, I was under the impression that the CGM run about 15 points lower than the manual glucose meter. You may want to reconsider how much sweet fruit you consume in one sitting.

    I’m glad you posted this. I was diagnosed with PCOS in September and I’ve been struggling to balance this new diet on top of my already low fat diet due to high cholesterol in recent blood test. It’s a struggle to balance eating lower carb and low fat and feel satiated. GERD/IBS are also in the mix so it’s been very interesting but I’m taking baby steps every day so that’s good! Lol

    • @jordanwaddell
      @jordanwaddell  Год назад

      I can totally understand how that would be a struggle! Whew! A lot to think about and hard to make decisions at meal time. Hang in there and make sure you're listening to YOUR intuition in addition to what your healthcare providers have recommended :)

      Low carb and low fat together are a recipe for disaster. Eating more saturated animal fats supports healthy hormone levels. Take a break from phytoestrogens and get more fat. So much of the mainstream information on cholesterol is not supported by science.

    Did the Dietician also tell you that if you cool and then reheat resistant starches that you would like to eat warm, like rice or a baked potato, it could actually lower the effect on your blood sugar even a bit more? I'm about to go make some rice pudding and do that 🤠

    I'm wearing a CGM as we speak - trying to figure out what's going on with some unusual hunger issues that I thought I had resolved a year ago.
    Previously diagnosed with insulin resistance, but ended up reversing it and everything's been great for about a year. Recent blood work is normal, but having old issues again.
    Reading my blood sugar throughout the day is actually super interesting!

    Fruit doesn't have much effect on the CGM because fructose doesn't show up on a glucose monitor, plus, fiber is an anti-nutrient, so the more fiber, the less macro and micronutrients you'll be able to absorb.
    I'd be willing to bet that 90 days on a high animal fat carnivore diet would get rid of the PCOS altogether. You need more saturated animal fats to support hormonal balance via cholesterol. Do some research and you may be surprised. If you're still having digestive issues and constipation, removing fiber typically resolves those as well. I used to do all the prebiotics, probiotics and ferments and still had digestive issues too.
    If you're trying to avoid gluten, understand that gluten is a lectin. You may want to be avoiding other sources of lectins as well, though if you're eating high oxalate and high fiber, I wouldn't expect digestive issues to clear up regardless.
    You also mentioned hair falling out or thinning in an older video. Assuming that's still an issue, a grass-fed beef organ supplement would likely help a lot. It doesn't matter how many nutrients we consume, it matters how many we absorb, which is where bioavailability is so important. There are several anti-nutrients in plants, nuts, and seeds that prevent mineral and protein absorption as well as other micronutrients.

    • @Engrave.Danger
      @Engrave.Danger 10 месяцев назад

      @@christianechandonnet4525 not only that but PCOS is related to poor metabolic health. She's likely prediabetic with a high fasting insulin and "TOFI" (thin outside fat inside) which essentially means.low subcutaneous fat with high visceral fat around the organs.
