My wife and I did this cruise in August, starting in Boston. Loved e every minute on the Zandaam. Headed to Alaska next August on the Westerdam. Absolutely love HAL and their smaller ships and all the accommodations.
Did you enjoy the ship and what she has to offer? Really nervous about being on a smaller ship for HAL and being packed with passengers since covid restrictions have been lifted. To date the Eurodam has been our favorite. Thanks for sharing.
@@jhollie8196 I was on this ship in late Sept from Boston to Montreal also. I loved the size of the ship. Not crowded at all and we sailed almost full capacity. The music choices and shows were very nice. Crew were wonderful. Food was great. I'd go on the Zaandam again.
Beautiful, thank you! Oh, BTW, your captain didn’t trade out I don’t think. All major ports require a local to come on board to guide the ship in. He/she is called the pilot.
I did the same cruise in june 2022, for 14 days, from Montreal (my home town) to Montreal. I will do it again this may (2023) this time i go for 21 day (number of day i need to get my 4th stars). Again from Montreal to Montreal. Thx for this video.
My sister and I are going Boston to Montreal and back again this July. We are confused by the instructions to take our luggage off the ship when we arrive in Montreal, go through customs, and then put it back on again. Not sure how we walk around Montreal with our luggage and bags. What did you do with your luggage between having to disembark in Boston and then reboard?
@@pamelahitchins If i understand well, you'll doing boston to montreal and montreal to boston. If so, When you will arrived in montreal you will be in transit, so you dont have to bring your luggage with you when you disembark the ship you only need to have your keycard and passport, that's all. Bon voyage.
@@pierrevalliereseafan No, they consider it two separate cruises, and apparently require us to take our luggage off the ship and through customs, and then re-embark. It's crazy but that is what we've been told.
@@pamelahitchins Miss, i just did 3 separate cruises in a row ; 13 to 20 of may 2023. 20 to 27 of may 2023 and may 27 to june 3 2023. I have 3 different booking numbers, and i went out of the ship 2 times in Boston WHITOUT my luggage and i was in transit WITH my new keycard each time. I dont know who tell you that you have to take your luggage with you , but i know that this is NOT TRUE. You only need to have your NEW keycard and your PASSPORT. (go ask for your new keycard at the percer desk the day BEFORE you disembark, because you disembark with your first keycard and re-embark with the new one.)
@@pierrevalliereseafan Thank you for the information. We will try it. I'm wondering if the difference is that Canada has different requirements...?? We are turning around in Montreal. I do hope our experience is the same as yours. Thanks.

We are on our way to Montreal as I type this for this cruise. Thank you for sharing and giving us a preview.
Have a good trip -you’ll love it
Sailing on her in Feb 2023 for 14 day Panama Canal trip from Fl to San Diego. We enjoy sailing on HAL. Thanks for sharing
Hope you enjoy it!

Is it really as quiet as it seems on Holland America? I am really looking for quiet and classy!
When I went, it was very quiet. A nice calm crowd with no partiers or children.
Great trip! we did this cruise in September starting in Boston.
So cool! It was a fun one!

@@DiGeraghty thanks for the info.
I really enjoyed the ship. It was a perfect size, especially since we had previously gone and one that was double the size.

The St laurence river is dangerous
it’s mandatory to have one of theirs to guide all the boats come in .
Gotcha!

What did you do with your luggage while walking around Montreal -- between arriving in Montreal and departing on the ship?
We actually dropped it off to the ship before we walked around
Were the excursions worth the price? Going in June
Yes!
Nice video, shame about the irritating music.
I am learning! Video audio is improving:) thanks for watching
Great video - poor narration
