@@bmwanlass hi Barbara, great question. It’s a printable download, so yes needs to be printed. As a suggestion, what some people do is have it printed at a local copy centre. Hope this helps and answers your question :)
I have wanted to visit PEI since watching/reading Anne of Green gables at 14 and will be visiting this year for my 50th birthday 🎉 I am extremely excited!
As someone who lives in Charlottetown, I must say you did an amazing job celebrating my Island!! I haven't been to Green Gables in so many years. You made me put it on my summer activity list!
It’s one of my dream is to live in Canada. I had the opportunity of coming to Prince Edward Island when I was 21 years old and did a children’s camp in Canada in Toronto, but sadly couldn’t afford to come over at that time. But I would love to have the opportunity to travel around the island in horse and carriage, or buggy as you say. How wonderful it must be to live in Prince Edward Island. This lady certainly does a very good detailed description of the island and the many things you can do and see there. It’s such a pretty, romantic place and I hope one day to visit. I love Canada, and I’ve had some very beautiful experiences and taken away some very special memories of this country. I will continue to pray for your country as well. I think I read: “Anne of Green Gables” at least six times I think. Such a wonderful story, and all the sequels following it. 🌸🏴🙏🌸
VERY, very beautiful place. My mother-in-law was from Nova Scotia and I was up there visiting (being from New York) a little bit, and it was absolutely gorgeous. My husband attended the Catholic university there in Antigonish. We lived in New York for most of our lives. But a visit to Canada was always a treat and so beautiful. Maybe one day I'll get to Charlottesville.
I’m looking into taking a Canada and New England cruise, I’ve never been there so it’s on my bucket list, I’ve enjoyed your videos you give a lot of information on cruising.
Thanks for your video.... On summer since 1997 ..on vacations im in Charlottetown every year,,, with my car,,, im lucky to live near PEI.. Just 6 hours on road... have fun....
Went there in 2019 on HAL, great time! Loved Cow's creamery and walking the town. Unfortunately the Green Gables excursion was booked up, should have booked in advance. (Cow's was great, but nothing beats gelato in Italy though).
We stayed at a condo in the Charlottetown port last September for a week's vacation and I got to see my first cruise ship up close, and with the help of your videos, has lead my husband and I to book 2 cruises between now and June of 2024! How I had NEVER seen a cruise ship up close before that, I have no idea!
This video brought back so many wonderful memories of Charlottetown. Haven’t cruise to PEI, but our daughter went to Veterinary school there at AVC. Many trips there from NH to see her. We loved it. The fall is so beautiful, and Cow’s ice cream is the best!!!! Thanks for the memories.
Cows is amazing. Years ago I spent a couple years in Banff Alberta and you even had a cows there. Those chocolate dipped Ruffles are also something to definitely try. PEI is a very relaxed type of place, their license plate is "Canada's Vacation land". My girlfriend and I are heading there for a long weekend next month. Another important fact to note other than Anne of Green Gables is that PEI is the birthplace of Canada.
My sisters and I will be visiting Charlottetown in Oct 2023 aboard the Celebrity Summit. It will be our first cruise in 35 years. We are all looking forward to this cruise a lot. Thanks for your videos. They have been very helpful in planning this cruise.
Oh my god! This video was so amazing. It surprised me that you were traveling by cruise and even more when I realized that that cruise was NCL Joy which I will be using the same way, same ship next month. I would love to know about your experience during the ship.
I remember delivering that big maple leaf to the waterfront about 15 years ago. I had it bolted and strapped upright on a flatbed trailer and I got lots of waves and honks. I also almost got run over by a cruise ship out in the harbour when I was a teenager but that's a story for a different time.
So interesting to watch a video of our city! I want to do this cruise sometime. ❤ Cows ice cream is good. ADL ice cream , made in factories and sold in all stores on PEI, is wonderful as well, and for me, a close contender. There is a Holmans ice cream restaurant in Summerside and many like it better. The soft serve ice cream made mostly by ADL and served in many dairy bar type outlets is so good. So glad you enjoyed your visit!
I've been to Charlottetown in the late 70's. It must have changed since then. 😁 The Canada/New England cruise is on my bucket list. One that stops in Québec City so I can visit my parents and my sister at the same time.
I’m glad that you enjoyed your trip in the maritimes in Canada! I’m from New Brunswick just next to PEI! It’s very a nice place to visit! And yes, Cow’s ice cream is so yummy!
We definitely will have to hit up Cow's, since hubby and I have been enjoying Chapman's in southern Ontario (which last year took top honors with their chocolate ice cream in Dubai), but we have been spoiled in Shawinigan at an ice cream shop near by the Cite d'Energie hotel. This summer, we're booked on Holland America's MS Volendam Boston to Montreal. We have booked the Confederation Bridge excursion (7:30 to 10:30 am). Good thing we're early risers. The Anne of Green Gables tour was completely booked already. The other excursion we decided on to use up our Have it All perk is a walking tour in Bar Harbor. We're going to have to find out if we can tender over earlier to see the town too, since it brings us back to the ship 30 minutes before departure.
Wow a beautiful part of the world. I’ve only been to Ontario on my visit to Canada but would love to come back. Really like your what to do in port information video😍 please make some more! Keep up the great work on your channel !
Went to PEI years ago and loved it. We stayed in a b&b hosted by a lovely couple that had Scottish ancestry. They warned us not to go to any of the French towns and really badmouthed the people with French ancestry. Of course we did go to those towns and found the people delightful. Just goes to show you how prejudice can happen anywhere. Loved PEI. Lobster supper at St. Anne’s church. Yum!
While we didn't cruise there, we spent a week in PEI in August of this year. It was our 8th holiday there, so you can tell that we love it! Great for families (camping at Twin Shores was our go-to when the kids were younger). Best deal(s) on the island (if you have the time) would be the Lobster dinners (either New Glasgow or North Rustico). While you don't have to have lobster (they have chicken, ham, steak or vegetarian options), you can choose the size of lobster you want (starting at 1 lb and going up from there) for about $36.00US (all you can eat clam chowder, mussels and dessert). As for Cows ice cream, it's....good (but this last visit rather disappointing). We definitely have better in Ontario (try Chapmans or Kawartha Lakes)! The one adventure we never miss? Deep sea fishing for cod and mackerel with "Cap'n Wade" Graham out of New London. Make sure to check out his wife Barb's collection of hand thrown pottery - the beautiful blues, greens and deep russets of the PEI landscape captured in mugs, bowls and plates. A wonderful reminder of an island that gets into your blood.
We just returned from a Canada/Greenland cruise on August 31. Pre-cruise: all of my excitement was about Greenland. Post-cruise: my treasured memories were all about the warm people and lovely places in Canada. Sadly, we did not stop at PEI, but Sydney, Cape Breton, St. John's, and, of course, Halifax were all absolutely lovely! I will always remember how hundreds of St. John's locals lined the waterways, up all along the towering hillsides clapping & shouting, "Welcome back" and "Come back" as we sailed away. 😍 The Alexander Graham Bell Museum near Cape Breton was well worth the trip if you're a history fan. Will gladly return especially if the itinerary includes Prince Edward Island & all things Anne of Green Gables.
If you put butter & cinnamon on a beaver tail, then it's just like the elephant ears/dough boys that we eat in southeastern Massachusetts ❤️ another variation is to have cinnamon diced apples on top.
I passed true Charlottetown and P.E.I. twice (hitchhiking back in the 70-80's) on my way to Magdalen Island (you have to go there), but never stopped for more time than it took to get a lift. I will add it to my list of places I must visit. Thanks.
Thanx Ilana. Had no thought of going to PEI, but now I want to go!!! LOL. Great video. Thanx for the tips, if I get there. I'd like to see some shopping tips - the best stores, best prices, etc
I absolutely loved PEI! I visited all of the places you mentioned and they were fabulous. I can’t wait to visit again. I’ve had Cow’s a few times in Niagara On The Lake, Ontario and it is delicious. BUT, Kawartha Dairy (a Canadian creamery) is a tad better, in my humble opinion 😋 Thanks for the great video. I love 🇨🇦 content 😊
We are doing an NCL Cruise from September 20-27, starting in Boston and ending in Quebec. Do you recommend using Viator to book excursions? Also, are there any ports where you feel just getting off the ship and walking around are the best be? Loved your Charlottetown video and going to try and find others for the different ports. Thank you for a job well done!
Hi Ilana, I needed to get away from watching cruise vloggers for a while. My son and I drove up to Bar Harbor Maine a month ago and hiked in Arcadia National Park for 5 days. We had a great time. You were there on a cruise around then, i believe. We were there 9/13 through 9/18. Getting ready for my December Celebrity Constellation 10 night cruise to southern Caribbean. I hope all is well with you and the family. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
Sounds amazing!! Acadia was just stunning and I can imagine the additional time there was well worth it. No worries, but Frank & I missed you & Jill (lol joking, not joking 😉). Thanks for watching!
Hi, Ilana! Made it back and your tips were fantastic. The night light saved the day several nights. This new England and Canada cruise is next on our parents only cruise. Can't wait!!! Which line did you book? Have a great day!
We've been to PEI several times, and on one of our visits in Charlottetown, we kept going back for the ice cream at least four times. It is surprising we didn't overload ourselves in sugar.
Im from Pennsylvania and im thinking of driving to pei although its not a cruise thus video is still cool. You cant talk about pei without mentioning potatoes
Both my grandparents were born on PEI. Summerside, I think. I've never been, but will be going on a Canada/New England Cruise next year. Totally looking forward to it. The only sad thing is our schedule only has us stopping in Charlottetown for about 6 hours. :(
Wow, I think this was nearby. 6 hours will be ok, but I’d probably either do an excursion to maximize time, or stay in the downtown area and do a tour there, walk, eat ect. Enjoy
I apologize for for yelling in the theater that I love you channel, it was rude and I should have said hello. We loved the ship, the best observation deck I've yet on a cruise ship. How did you like Oasis Of The Seas? That will be our next cruise.
Hi Aaron, no apology needed at all! Lol I get a kick out of it 😂. Glad you enjoyed your cruise. Oasis is so big, but there’s always so much to do and see. Lots we enjoyed & I’d recommend the ship. I have a couple of videos (check best things to do on Oasis of the Seas) that I think might be useful
Going on a CA/NE cruise starting in Montreal on June 3rd. Should I expect cold weather or warm weather? Don’t know what to pack. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
We are headed to PEI on NCL in Sept. Our cruise ship does not seem to offer any excursions to Anne of Green Gables (super strange to me and my whole reason for this port). Did you see tours being offered locally a in town?
We are going on this same trip next Sept. Did you happen to notice if there are any vegan options? I'm afraid we may be missing out on the eating part of traveling. Thank you for your great videos!
I did on the ship. I did also see a vegan restaurant in the downtown area that looked good (nice terrace), however I’ll try and see in the future for options
@@LifeWellCruised We are going with our BFFs, and this the 1st cruise for all of us. We will be using your advice and tips-we've been binging your videos! Invaluable!
@@LifeWellCruised No, ours is roundtrip out of Boston (we are Americans) but it's the 11day NE/Canada Celebrity Summit one. Looks like mostly Halifax, Sydney and Quebec.
Leaving on 10/21 on NCL Pearl. Will be in Charlottetown on Sunday. Not sure what day you were there, but do you know if many places are open or closed on a Sunday?
I am definitely a fan of Anne of Green Gables. However, such a long travel just to see "her" home is unreasonable. What will it add to my understanding of the book?
Cows Creamery is good. But! As a born and bread Ontarian (who recently moved to NS) I have to say that Kawartha Dairy ice cream is the best ice cream in Canada.
I try my best based on what I see, do & research, but this is a good thing for me to look out for in future ports. Just an FYI, there is a channel called Cruising with Wheels that may have some videos that you’ll find helpful
I love your channel. And I’m already a member of cruising with wheels. Periodically I ask if people could also include a little about accessibility of an area. I use a mobility scooter. Sometimes it’s helpful to know what someone who has been to a port. That looks interesting to me. Thinks about the accessibility of the port.
Odd bit of Anne of Green Gables trivia. The musical was written by Don Harron who is more famous for playing a character called Charlie Farquson who is a lovable idiot hillbilly goof kind of like Larry the Cable Guy on idiot steroids. So just imagine that you found out that Larry the Cable Guy wrote the musical Phantom of the Opera. It's that level of wow
I've lived on this island my whole life and the only nice thing about it is the nature. Everything else is a shit show and you all should avoid coming here at all costs. Anne of Green Gables never existed yet we use 'her' to get more people to come to this god forsaken tourist trap. Most of our industry is seasonal and if you're looking for opportunities you should go/stay out west. I'm not saying these things because I dislike tourists and immigrants, I'm saying these things because PEI is the worst province in Canada to do anything. This place is where small businesses come to die. This place is where the young get stuck and have no where to go but six feet under the ground. This place will kill your dreams, eat you up, and shit you out. Just remember, this place looks nice but don't try to live here, you'll regret every second you waste.

I forgot to say we will be doing a second Canada-New England cruise next September. We are so looking forward to it.
Im from Pennsylvania and im thinking of driving to pei although its not a cruise thus video is still cool. You cant talk about pei without mentioning potatoes
This time next year this is where we will be
Awesome!!
It looks like a great place to visit
Very nice!!
Enjoy
Loved your videoooo
Molto bello❤from Italy
I apologize for for yelling in the theater that I love you channel, it was rude and I should have said hello. We loved the ship, the best observation deck I've yet on a cruise ship. How did you like Oasis Of The Seas? That will be our next cruise.
Hi Aaron, no apology needed at all! Lol I get a kick out of it 😂. Glad you enjoyed your cruise. Oasis is so big, but there’s always so much to do and see. Lots we enjoyed & I’d recommend the ship. I have a couple of videos (check best things to do on Oasis of the Seas) that I think might be useful
@@LifeWellCruised great I will take a look. I should of said hi darn, I got nervous..lol..
Going on a CA/NE cruise starting in Montreal on June 3rd. Should I expect cold weather or warm weather? Don’t know what to pack. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
I'm going on the ncl Gem Aug 30th to September 6th.
When were you there- month and year?
Can you explain the tie dyed red dirt shirt.
Invaluable!
@@jm6547 sounds fantastic! Are you going to Saint John btw?
@@LifeWellCruised No, ours is roundtrip out of Boston (we are Americans) but it's the 11day NE/Canada Celebrity Summit one. Looks like mostly Halifax, Sydney and Quebec.
When was lobster served on the ship?
Leaving on 10/21 on NCL Pearl. Will be in Charlottetown on Sunday. Not sure what day you were there, but do you know if many places are open or closed on a Sunday?
...well...the Liquor Commission will be closed, so...there's THAT...
...lol...grew up there...in Cali now for 40 years...
You've got to order moules frites so you can enjoy the the PEI mussels and potatoes at the same time.
Yum!! Next time 👏
I am definitely a fan of Anne of Green Gables. However, such a long travel just to see "her" home is unreasonable. What will it add to my understanding of the book?
I didn’t find it too long, as the drive is pretty. However you can definitely stay in town & enjoy that or another excursion
Cows Creamery is good. But! As a born and bread Ontarian (who recently moved to NS) I have to say that Kawartha Dairy ice cream is the best ice cream in Canada.
Oooh I haven’t heard of it. Hopefully Ill get a chance to try it one day
I agree!!
were you there before or after the hurricane. wondering how they are recovering.
Just before
One of the best kept secrets of PEI is their many golf courses. I have played at the Green Gables golf course many times.
Wow!! I saw it from the Heritage Site but didn’t really think about it. Great to know
When you talk about ports it would help a lot if you could include a little about accessibility.
At least im not the only islander that just is watching these videos to see what they say about pei
Nice vlog
Thanks so much! Really appreciate you watching:)
❤ love 💕
No pei mussels?
I couldn’t eat that too 😂. Next time
Se rinasco voglio essere proprio lì
I suppose the diet enjoys the cruise as well
Haha we don’t talk about that
Birthplace of Canada, Province House was probably still under repair during you visit but is a must see for any Canadian visiter. 10:45 .
Lol, interesting fact. I’m guessing he’s probably multi talented 😂. Thanks for sharing!
@@LifeWellCruised love your channel. Still dreaming of first cruise
Cows ice cream was not creamy, nor had a good flavor. Way down on the "best" list!
Thanks for sharing, I guess it depends what the criteria would be
I've lived on this island my whole life and the only nice thing about it is the nature.
It looks like a great place to visit
