- With Spring arriving and the farm fields getting planted we switch our metal detecting adventures over to old houses and yards. This is one of my favorite detecting seasons because of the variety of stuff found around old houses, it’s just never ending! This first house of the season goes back to the late 1700's and is a great kick-off property with silver coins, Depression and Victorian era jewelry, and a bunch of interesting pieces lost over time. If the season of yards stays as good as this one it’s gonna be a heck of a summer!

Jason, I don't know if anyone has made this comment yet, but with 1964 and earlier dimes, as you know they were mostly silver.
I am almost 70 and when I was in high school shop class, my teacher showed us a neat trick for soldering. If you needed to use silver soldering and didn't have any or ran out, you could cut off a small piece of a silver dime and use as soldering.
It was a great idea and it worked perfectly.
To me this dime looks just like ours when we cut it for that purpose.
My grandfather showed me that very same trick. He use to keep silver dimes with his soldering gun because it was easier than going out to buy silver wire

That looks like a plate off an old carriage. Nicely valuable to a carriage owner! The piece off a cover could also be from a carriage.
The spoon has an anchor Hallmark which should mean that it's silver. The religious medal has a tiny marking on the back. Great finds!
I'm still tinkering with the settings on my Legend, but it's doing well so far.

The brass plate with writing looks like the signature plate off of an antique oil painting. It would be attached to lower front of frame.
Nothing like a $43.00 dollar coin! The houses are even cooler. 1902 GORHAM Silverware from Rhode Island. Marks page on web says it is Sterling Silver. Great find.

That suspender buckle is probably from Shirley,Massachusetts. They have an old factory called "President Suspender". I grew up there. They made belts and suspenders back in the day. Today it's called George Frost Company. Great video!

The old religious medallion, usually if the link is not a split link, then it usually signifies a precious metal.

The big silver spoon is by Gorham Manufacturing Co. (the anchor is part of their company mark) Pieces with just an anchor, and the EP mark are electroplate (silver plate). my guess is that this is a heavy silverplated spoon with a silver colored base metal, possible nickel, although that is usually marked EPNS on plated items.

Yes ! Dont let that discourage you ! Most of "us" started out with a cheapo per say and found something good which led to investing into something a little nicer 👍

I love your channel and I was soo looking forward to either getting a Nox 800 or the new Noc Legend come June but that doesn't look like its gonna happen I have been saving for 6 months and had almost 3/4's of the cash saved up and its gone missing 😮💨😵💫 I was gonna give my 9 yr old whos turning 10 in June my Garret Ace 300i for his birthday to upgrade him from the Kids Noc I got him last year. I have never been more distraught Im glad I didn't tell him or he'd be disappointed as well. But at least I can watch the Quarter Hoarder Crew and still smile and laugh along with you guys while watching so thank you for that guys. Looking back through some older vids I found this one and that indian head 1909 S is worth some good money if it's in decent shape. That's a low mintage, split year coin, and being a S, even rarer. Get the dirt off, and take it to a coin shop for appraisal.
Silver was raining down! The charm you found probably has the sterling on the loop where you put the chain through. Great hunt guys!
I found a 1909S Indian in the "old change" jar my FIL saved from his meat market.

You guys didn't come down to Bucks County this past week did you? I saw 5 guys metal detecting in North Hampton Township. These guys were digging between two houses the front house is 1790 and the back house is 1800. I wish a had my detector on me I would have asked to join.
