I own a hi-point and I bought it about 10 years ago when I didn't have much money and it's all that I could afford. They work, but the magazines are crap, the triggers are horrible and they're a pain in the ass to clean. Since then I've bought many firearms and they're all better than my hi-point. I'll take my Springfield xd, Ruger .380, my wife's Kimber micro 9, and especially my hk mk23 over my hi-point every single time.
I still maintain that you folks could build a Hi-Point 22 lr that would function like your other successful pistols. Lighten up the slide and retool the internals. To be sure you have engineers that could do that.Stop and imagine what a Hi-Point 22 lr would be like in this age where ammo is so hard to come by. I would sell one of my treasured semi autos to purchase one of yours in 22 LR.
That janky POS "people's assault rifle" from germany used such a principle and it had barely any effect and with such a short barrel it would have no effect on the opening delay at all, just foul the gun up and reduce the slide velocity after a certain point, could be useful if desired I suppose but not in this case.
This looks like simple and relible design. I especially like the hammerless firing pin - this is really good idea. But there's too much metal used in this construction. The pistol may be somewhat heavy.
They are actually very reliable, just ugly and feel weird yo shoot. Just a heavy slide direct blowback pistol. I'm glad they exist though so concealed carry is not limited to certain socioeconomic classes.
So from what i see here its best not to leave it chambered otherwise you could run into a weak firing pin spring that won't have the ability to move the firing pin hard enough to fire the bullet. Ive have that happen on a cheap Bryco Jennings i bought over thirty years ago.
Took the Russians 30 years to build a trasher and somehow more awkward to handle FN 1903. I’ve shot both, the TT shoots how it looks. Like a brick with one of the most mushy hammer triggers I think I’ve ever felt. Kinda like a Hipoint with a hammer that made the trigger worse. Soviets did what they do best, copy and spit out a garbage rod with slight tweaks decades after the original design
Thank you for making this…I was always curious about the engineering, design, and function of quite possibly the finest hammer ever made.
Your animation is fantastic. To see the lower move and the slide stationary was very innovative.
This guys literally Lives from playing free game with ready guns Models he don't anything. Fuck it im gonna do the same
The slide moves and the barrel is stationary. Hi-point uses a blow back design to put the weapon into battery.
@@harrylongabaugh7402 its game he didn't make that
@@Soap.-- he does put the game in the description
@@Stynze butnhe knows what he's doing hoping no one qill reasons descriptoon
your sounds are phenomenal. matches the firearms well. like the mag insert sounds identical.
It's a game
How a Hi-Point C-9 works: You save the ammunition and throw the gun at your attacker. It’s basically a metal brick. It’ll knock em out cold.
😂
@@denizgecit4118 It’s crudely designed with an oversized slide. In reality, they aren’t horrible guns. It’s just fun to joke about them.

Had a coworker drop his in a motel room while sitting on bed & it went 💥 . What a piece of 💩.🤣

You could almost make it gas-delayed blowback be drilling a small port in the top of the barrel just in front of the chamber.

It has a reputation as being the cheapest worst pistol made
@@CreepinCreeper01
Strange. It doesn't look so bad.
Unreasonably heavy - yes.
Cheapest - maybe.
Worst - no.
But, on schematics everything looks better.
They are very top heavy ,but they absorb recoil like no other semi auto handgun out there.
@@larryknowlton7094
Yeah. Low recoil is really nice feature.

That’s a pretty cool vid
Thanks for another great vid........ .
GOOD JOB 😍😍
Yey new upload
it works? 🤨
Stand in front of one if you think they're so unreliable.
I don't understand how the trigger disconnect works?
POCA MECCANICA, GRANDE SICUREZZA !!!
How a Hi-Point works: barely...
lmao I love this comment.

Pistols are irrelevant in warfare so they didn't care :)
The Hi-Point is the ugliest pistol ever made.
*Zip .22:* That somehow boosted my confidence.
UN AMORE 💕 💕 💕 💕
I never realized how fuckin dumb that firing pin mechanism was lmao
It doesn't
Slide made of pot metal just like cheap toys.🤣 What a piece of 💩. Saw a coworker drop his Highpoint & it went 💥 . He got rid of it next day.
Probably had the safety off
What do you expect from a pistol for 200$ exactly?
And, if you watched carefully, it should't have went off if he had safety on.
