Do Amiibo Have a Place on Nintendo Switch 2?

I don't see anyone talking about Nintendo's Plastic Toy to Life combability on the Switch 2 and so today, we discuss the possibly of the functionality returning for the Switch 2!

Unlike the AR camera, amiibo were used in almost every first party game for the first half of the switch's lifecycle. I think cutting them being on the console entirely would cause way too many headaches for parents, even if you can still use the old joy-cons and pro controller to scan them in. However, I do expect them to be scaled back more, becoming more like Nintendo's personal figure brand rather than being in every game, most likely just for cosmetics. Either that, or the mass restocks were a test to see if amiibo still had an audience to begin with, like how capcom does with remasters of older games. I doubt they're going away, they're just only a minor feature instead of a major one.

Smash without amiibo would be weird at this point. Can’t say much about the rest of the Nintendo catalog but like you legally can’t make one without the other anymore

Amiibo really did define that era. Them being here today is the bit of the wii u/3ds era still being on modern consoles today. It's kind of cool how in general every Nintendo console is represented on the switch in a way.
