Thank you for riding Metro. As a reminder there is no eating, drinking, smoking, or loud music allowed on the train. You would not believe how many times I heard that announcement riding that train.
The train going through the fountain is so pretty, can't say I've ever seen something like that before - I'd love to know what other cities in the world have something like that
I think it might be the wheel slipping, it sometimes happens when it rains or when there's no good traction. Other than that, the sanding system kicks in if that happens.
@@jayasmrmore3687VF stands for Variable Frequency. A VF drive is basically a component of the train’s traction control system that varies the frequency and voltage of power being delivered to the train’s motors based on the speed of the train. The traction motors would burn up if given full power while the train is stopped, as it takes an immense amount of energy to get such a heavy object like a train into motion. The VF drive slowly increases the power delivered to the motors as the train speeds up to help control the acceleration and preserve the motors. It’s also what creates the unique whining sounds that every electric train makes when accelerating - the VF drive creates the frequency patterns and the motors themselves act as speakers and actually make the sounds you hear. Pretty interesting stuff.

1:15 oof, that VF drive did not sound very healthy… that’s not what it’s supposed to sound like!

What is VF drive?

@@OliversElevators oh okay. Is it only in electric trains or in trains that run on different energy sources too?
Save for the ads, it's a beautiful tram by design.
Dallas a Houston tiempo real
When I was in Houston, the drivers of the LRT and buses were all African-American.
The LRT line is too short, not even 5 miles.
The Red Line alone is 12.5 miles.
@@wren7300the other two are too short though
