Brilliant video, my first Tamiya RC was the Strikers big brother the Sonic Fighter, how I wish I still had it, so rare and brilliant fun to drive. It would be worth trying to get one on the channel for a build, it would make a fantastic addition to your collection. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍

G'day Gavin! Never liked the look of these cars when I was younger thought they were terrible. Now though it's a different story, what a good looking car.
Same but it's not as ugly in real life and its grown on me. Drives OK but it could do with some oil shocks like the Sonic Fighter sister car.

Haven't had my Striker out this year, first time I hadn't in over 8 years. It's a great car and took some abuse from me. Was in new condition when I got it but not so new looking now. But to me what's the use of having something and not enjoying it. But the way my van has been acting and the bald-faced hornets this year I haven't had the time but the years not over yet.

Are the MCI decals not very good?
I’m restoring a striker now and I haven’t even bothered trying for original decals
MCI did an update and the colours are much better now if you can't find a set of originals.

Crossing my fingers
I’ve just got one of these in great original condition. Hardly ran. But I do need to paint it as it has yellowed, replace the plastic bearings to ball bearings and get some decals. The decals are my main concern though as I can’t find any anywhere except for an overpriced set on eBay. If anyone can help me it’ll be very much appreciated.
MCI do them but the colours are wrong. Unfortunately the decals for this car are getting expensive £40!
RCKicks hmmm I might just keep it as it is and just replace the bearings. It isn’t bad looking but the sides of the decals have lost their stick. I’ll keep looking. Can’t find any on mci. Thanks for the info.

I'm just getting back into rc after a 30 year absence lol the last tamiya I had was the Audi quattro (same as frog) I also had a BIGWIG and a FALCON we got them from TOY AND HOBBY (do you remember that shop?) I always gazed at the 959 they had on the top shelf lol I can see it now. I'd love to start my new hobby with your striker 😜. I would love a king cab and I'm looking out for a un built brand newie, I can wish cant I.
