I have 45 years of riding experience on all types of two wheel motorcycles. I recently bought a 2022 Ryker Rally for my wife to ride. I installed a steering damper and a sway bar on the Ryker shortly after bringing it home. I could not image the riding characteristics of this Ryker without suspension upgrades. Even with a dampener and sway bar, the Ryker still rides quite rough. I'm getting used to it. Eventually, it will become unnoticeable to me. I won't be the only rider of this Ryker, my wife will be. Iride a 2020 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited. One thing about the Ryker you must do with steering is to lean into the curve, just like a two-wheeler motorcycle, and push down lightly on the floorboard, or peg, with your opposite foot. Turn left, push down with your right foot. Turn right, push down with left foot. If you don't practice and make this a riding habit, the Ryker may throw you out of the saddle. It's not like riding a two-wheeler because a Ryker cannot be leaned into turns. Practice riding around in town before taking it on highway trips. I friend of mine owns a Harley Davidson Tri-Glide and has ridden a Spyder. He says the Tri-Glide is harder to ride because the two wheels are in the back. He says it's a completely different riding experience. I haven't ridden a Tri-Glide, but I may have to give it a try on his. My friend at the Harley dealership says I will not like riding a Tri-Glide, especially over an Ultra Limited. If anyone has ridden a Tri-Glide, please send comments.
Thank you @dingznthingz for the tip on leaning on the Ryker 👍 My hubby also rides a 2 wheel. He said the rough ride on the Ryker is due to the feedback from the road. Unevenness of the road felt by the front wheels gets transmitted to the handlebars. The lack of power steering means you feel that road feedback, and because the wheelbase is wider than the handlebar, the feedback gets magnified. Dampener and sway bar may help, but this is what the Ryker ride is like and you might as well enjoy it 😆 Here’s a video where that feedback is explained (about 3’ into video). ruclips.net/video/4nwI3sFBmzU/видео.htmlsi=hXlCo2N699-baoP-
Good advice. I've had my Ryker a month, and I just stay off the freeways. The traffic around her runs 75-80 mile an hour, and I don't want in the middle of it. Sometimes it takes a little longer to reach my destination, but what the heck. If I'm in a hurry I'm probably in my car instead....
Great tips! Do you think the windshield helps much? Just got my Ryker without a windshield and going over 50mph puts a strain on my neck from the wind pushing against my helmet.
@Urban Dingo No problem! I am going to get my Ryker this coming Wednesday! New rider here! Never driven any motorcycle before but been watching lots of vids on the Ryker. And in particular I have learned alot from you! So... Thank you!
If trucks are restricted to the 2 right lanes so guess what. Being in the middle lane going slow invites trucks to ride your ass. Passing on the right is illegal so you are selfish and forcing people to drive illegal just to get around the traffic jam on the ryker
The “loosen your grip over bumps” thing is something I learned pretty quickly on my local awful quality roads, lmao
@birdgeekguy Haha, sounds like the more awful the road, the quicker this is learned 🤣 Ride safe 🏍️💨💨

I don’t enjoy the highway either. The point of my Ryker is fun, so I prefer back roads that have less traffic and more scenic 😁 Ride safe 🏍️💨💨
Welcome to motorcyle riding, not just Can-Am's you just described any motorcycle ride.
Thanks! Good to know I'm building up skills to the 2-wheel 😀 🏍️
Great! Information wind sister! Thank you for keeping us all safe.
I learn a lot from you all too 🥰
Thank you for another great video!
Thank you for watching @puffsky9650 😊
Very helpful. However, I may just avoid multi-lane highway riding all together. It was terrifying just to watch that.
I try to avoid it too, but sometimes I can’t 😂
Great video...
Thanks! 😊 Ride safe! 🏍️💨

Yes it does! 😃 Ride safe 🏍️💨💨
@@urbandingo6882 Thank you!
Doesn't that thing have cruise control? I've been thinking about test riding one of those. Cheers!
I think current models do have cruise control 😃 Mine is a 2019 model, and cruise control is not available.
😂
For the bumps on the road. Does it help if you adjust your suspension to the softest level 1?
Good question! I haven’t tried that, so I will have to 😃 Thank you for the suggestion 😁

🥰
First thing I dabbled with. Have you done so yet? Results? @@urbandingo6882
hmmmm this video is definitely in Texas.....San Antonio?
Yes! 😃😁🏍️💨
Just out of curiosity, how can you tell it was in Texas? 😀
@@urbandingo6882 Native born, theres just something about the way the roads are done here.. also, the HEB truck.
Haha, yes HEB would be a giveaway 😆

I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you for pointing this out 😆
