I understand your concern with the brad nails, however, in the past 10 years we have not had any problems with these fasteners. Most 18ga. brad nails will have have a ring shank top to help hold the nail into the bamboo and help prevent any possible noise from the floors in the future.
Yes it will squeak down the road and possibly buckle especially bamboo, you need to use 18g cleats not brad nails. Brad nails are used only at end down to blind nail.

shouldn't you do math first to make sure you don't end up with some thin board at the end? So you can trim the first row if needed
